    Hungarian Goulash

If you go during breakfast hours this place might be extremely busy but it is well worth the wait. Everything I ordered was very good. The service is fast but the food is well cooked and extremely good. The ambiance is busy and fun. The menu has so many options and very doubtful it well let you down in providing something to chose from. It's a must try if you're a foodie.

The Traditional Goulash with strawberry crepes

So much food! I had the traditional goulash and my sis had the chicken gravy goulash with sides of the cinnamon roll and the strawberry crepes and an Austrian coffee (yum). I barely put a dent in my meal but tried everything and have leftovers for tomorrow!

Great place even for a larger group! We had 10 of us and if you have patience while waiting for the table, trust me your patience will be rewarded! I appreciate the portion size, freshness of the food, and commitment to quality at Old European! The staff is definitely well trained and happy to be there too! I usually get the traditional goulash with German potato pancakes as the side but today I went a different direction and tried the Mediterranean goulash and a pecan caramel roll as the side. Sometime you just got to take a walk on the wild side of life! lol Mediterranean goulash was amazing with the feta, sun dried tomatoes and artichokes marking culinary harmony! My wife got her favorite fresh strawberry crepes! So delicate and delicious!

We went on a Sunday for brunch, and it was a little bit of a wait but not too long. The inside was nice and very modern. To start off, I got the seasonal beignets (apple flavor) and it was delicious! They are very small and bite size. Then we got the chicken goulash, it's a huge size! It also comes with a side, which we got the pecan roll. The goulash had chicken pieces in it with gravy on top. We also got the fresh squeezed orange juice, and it was so refreshing. I also got the eggs Benedict with avocado and bacon. It was very delicious and would get again. The small plate is a perfect size for small / easy breakfast. Overall I would return again.

I first discovered the Pullman location when I was attending WSU but now I primarily visit the Spokane location. The staff at this particular location has always been very friendly, the food is made with quality ingredients and the variety of foods they offer are great as well. My favourite items are the Austrian coffee, Blueberry Aebleskivers, half order of a classic Benedict and the Banana crepes!!

My brother took us here for brunch yesterday. I love that they create a homey modern atmosphere with the decor. I would take a date, my family, or friends here. We decided to split the blueberry aebleskivers; mom had the Cinnamon roll with the pecan caramel topping; brother the veggie omelet, and I had the Swedish meatballs & eggs with the Austrian berry French toast. Everything was delicious-I liked the aebleskivers best. The meatballs are Waygu beef and they had a muted savory taste with the light gravy sauce. The eggs were done to my liking. Austrian Berry French toast - so it is not your typical kind. The entire breakfast was not drenched in sugar, and you can enjoy the egg and cinnamon taste in it. Fresh strawberries and blueberries accompanied it with a generous dollop of whipped cream. They gave me lingonberry as a side with the savory but I used it to complement the baked goods. Like a very mild cranberry flavor but with its own personality. We loved the strawberry whipped cream that came with the aebleskivers as well as the blueberry sauce. Don't expect the round pancakes balls to be loaded with blueberries. They were yummy carbs with a few in. The cinnamon roll also was not sweet--adding the caramel and candied pecans made it so. This is a nice change from the mall brand we all know and love. My mom loved the pecans. Very satisfying visit to the best brunch spot in town. Our server was great - he was attentive and not overly present.

This place is so cute! The food was great with lots of options, and I love that you can order half sizes for some items. Everything we tried was delicious. The service was quick and friendly too. Prices seemed fair. Definitely a spot I'd come back to!

Our first trip to the Old European and it was awesome. We started with a shared breakfast meal. It's ment to be a meal but we got it essentially as a shared item for our table which I 100% recommended so you can try a bit of all of the specialties (Scandinavian Cake Plate). We also had a Country Friend (Chicken) Breakfast with the German Potato&Sausage Pancakes as well as the Bacon Veggie Omelette with a Waffle as the side. The pricing seemed high to start but once we saw the portions we were wondering why it wasn't actually more. Our food was delicious and Heather was amazing.

    Strawberry Swedish Crepes

The food was very good. We got the all meat ghoulish and it was perfectly cooked. The strawberry crepes was so good and filled with cream cheese. Even the vanilla latte was good! I recommend! Great service too.

I haven't been here for a while but I could say it was great to return for a good breakfast. The food was great, the service was super and the ambience was nice.

Every contact I've had with Grain Shed employees has been more than pleasant; they truly seem to enjoy working there, and take good care of their customers. I need to shout out to Toby and Audrey before I go on. They each provided 110% on customer service, being personable and making sure we left happy. On 2 separate trips to Spokane, I've visited the Grain Shed 3 and 4 times over the course of 3 days (yes, if you do the math, I went twice in 1 day, and the restaurant was NOT just around the corner!) Everything I've tried is delish, but in case you have to limit yourself, I highly recommend the OG, the beets and feta toast, the bread flight with sauces and cheese, the molasses ginger cookie, and maybe a chocolate croissant. I've heard their bread pudding and pumpkin pie (holiday special) are out of this world! I tried to get over to listen to their live music before leaving town, but still need to squeeze that into my schedule. Travelers: save space in your luggage for a loaf of bread. Sadly, no shipping at this time, but I'm waiting for it! This SoCal resident is officially The Grain Shed's #1 fan. I dare any of you to try to take away my title!

The Grain Shed does a farm to table model and is a bakery and brewery. I got a snack here along with a beer and left quite satisfied. I got a Grilled Cheese Sandwich on some of their house made bread with some Cheddar, Swiss and Provolone cheese. The exact name for this sandwich is the Cheesy Toastie. And of course moving on to the beer... the primary motivator to come here. I got the Kölsch beer here called Field Trip. I do love a good Kölsch as they are nice, light bodied beers. And they are especially nice in the summertime. Flavor features in this beer is maltiness, breadiness, a bit of hoppiness and a dry finish. Another beer that Steve and I tried was the INWPA which was a Pale Ale. It was also a nice light bodied beer which again hit the spot despite it being a different drinking session. Flavor characteristics in this beer is citrus, a yeastiness, hoppiness and a biscuity trait. Good beers and sandwiches and we are aiming for a return whenever we are in Spokane again.

Experience/Service: the place is cute cute cute! The service was top-notch, friendly, and genuine. Food: wow! A bakery this truly is. I had the opportunity to try several types of scones and some sort of almond roll and it was all delicious. I especially loved the lemon-blueberry scone and I normally don't even like lemon. If I had been in town more than 2 days I would have gone more. Price: normally I don't mention this because prices are in the eye of the beholder. But compared to my native SoCal the prices here were $1-2 less per drink. A latte and a huge home-baked scone for $10? Wouldn't happen elsewhere. So bravo for keeping prices reasonable. Foolishly, I stayed. Ordered two Italian sodas and some water. Both Italian sodas with no cream, yes whip. That's all. I had the receipt. Very clearly marked. Got the Italian sodas back. One had whip and no cream (correct). One had whip and cream added (incorrect). I told the attendant that the first soda was fine, but the second was not what I ordered. Screw-up 1. Hey, we're human, it happens. She took them back and went to redo. I thought she'd just redo the wrong one. Nope! She brought me two new Italian sodas. Neither had cream. Neither had whip. Screw-up 2. On BOTH, even though I specified that the first soda was fine. At this point I'm not only irritated, but concerned over the person & dog in the rapidly-warming car. Attendant offers to remake them all over again. Why? She'll just screw them up again. I took what was in front of me (not what I paid for) and left. Several screw-ups, delays, and essentially a minor rip-off. I won't make the mistake of going here & overpaying for screw-ups again, and I suggest you do the same.
