What an amazing local business! Such a great vibe and energy inside. I can only imagine how great it would be in the spring/summertime with the nice big garage doors open. I got an iced white chocolate mocha and one of the most amazing sandwiches I've had in a long time! Nicely toasted, the pesto was amazing and the balsamic onions were the most amazing touch wow! This was an amazing hit and I cannot wait to come back!

I popped in for a quick bagel and a kids chocolate milk. $11.75!!!! Before tip btw. WTF?' Are you f-ing kidding me? I guess I should've looked at the prices but $2.50 extra for a dollop of bream cheese on a bagel? $4.50 for a kids chocolate milk? (Only $2.65 at ripoff Starbucks btw, with whipped cream) All in, I paid $13.70 or something for a toasted bagel and kids chocolate milk. If I wanted to be fleeced like that I'd move back to Phinney Ridge, where at least I expect Seattle pricing. I may do the neighborhood a favor and buy the property just to shut them down and re-open with prices 30% lower.

This is my favorite coffee hang out. I hadn't been in awhile so I grabbed a friend and we caught up over coffee on a beautiful fall morning. The coffee is always the best. I had one of their specialty lattes and a gluten free cupcake which was delicious! It hit the spot. They have some fun swag for purchase and the baristas are so friendly. Located in the South Perry District. You can bring a book or grab an Inlander to read while you drink your coffee, have a cuppa with a friend, or grab some coffee to go and do some shopping in the area or head to the park. Check 'em out!

Why YOU need to visit The Shop 1) Local business in the Perry Street District (amazing location) 2) Great food that has both Vegan and Gluten free options. 3) Friendly staff with a total PNW atmosphere. 4) Indoor and outdoor seating with shade. 5) FANTASTIC coffee and treats. Personal favorite is the Coconut Cream Cake, taste like summer on the beach. And a cup of Coal Forge drip. 10/10 would visit again!

I'm tired of supporting local places and being charged insane prices for mediocre food. A sandwich (which was supposed to be turned into a salad)... basic SMALL white bread, Turkey, a sauce, cheese and a little spinach. Chips were so greasy the napkins provided in the box were too soiled to use. There were more chips that sandwich ingredients in the box, too. I also ordered a black iced tea....tasted like mildew. I will not visit again. My review is for the friendly employees. Why didn't I say something? I drove away before I knew what was in there.

Met up with coworkers here after a tough shift. It is a nice and quiet area to decompress. They offer food and drinks from pastries like cinnamon roll and quiche to sandwiches and coffee and tea to rotating beers. During our visit, we rewarded ourselves with a humongous cinnamon roll. It was an absolute perfect treat! The staffs was very nice, patient and helpful. I encourage you to check this place out and consider them. This is one place I would recommend if you want work done or be away from all the usual bustling coffee shops in town.

Fantastic customer service and the coffee is delicious. Great little walk in Perry District from our Airbnb. Highly recommend. I went around 830AM on a Sunday and only had to wait a few minutes for our coffees. We will be back!

Skimpy on the meat and chips. I used to come here a couple times a year but the quality has definitely gone down. Save the $22 dollars and just make something at home for the same or better quality.

Last Tuesday, I called Lilac City Bakery to order a custom Minecraft-themed cake for Paxton's 8th birthday. We talked through everything--flavor, size, layers, filling, and most importantly, the design. I specifically asked for the Minecraft "block" look, and she mentioned adding green grass edging to an 8-inch round cake. I also requested it say "Happy 8th Birthday Paxton." Total cost: $167. Fast forward to Saturday pickup... and it was just a chocolate cake covered in green frosting. No blocks. No characters. Nothing that even remotely said "Minecraft." I shared my disappointment at the counter, and the solution was to add a few pre-cut fondant pieces on the spot. I reached out to management afterward, hoping for some understanding or resolution, and was told: "I do not find that we made any missteps in providing a custom, hand crafted cake which aligns with the theme." and "hope you enjoyed the cake over all, as it was very well done". However I completely disagree. So I'm genuinely asking... are my expectations too high for a $170 custom cake? Because this felt like a pretty big miss.

We were so disappointed in our experience with Happy Cake Co. We always like to support locally…read morewhen we can. My husband and I got married on the 20th of December in a small ceremony to save money for a larger reception next year. We didn't plan on getting a cake bc we had such a tight budget, but my mom wanted us to have something to freeze for our anniversary so she ordered us a cake from here to surprise us and make our day a little more special. She ordered over the phone and then needed to make a change so she called back to change the writing on the cake. She asked the guy who she spoke to if she needed to email the information over and he said no and that he had it covered. My mom decided to email the information over anyway just to be safe. This was 1 month before the wedding. The day of, my dad picked it up, he didn't know what it was supposed to look like, but mentioned it didn't look great to my mom later when we arrived to the venue. When she opened the box it wasn't even close to what she ordered. Not even before she made the changes. We asked specifically for our last name in black writing and a certain font which they said they could do. We received an all white cake without our last name and the writing was not straight nor the font we requested. It almost looked like they forgot about us and went to the grocery store really quick. At this point it was too late to do anything and we were all leaving town for the holidays the next day so we left it in the box at dinner, skipped the cake cutting together and just took it home. We decided we would come talk to them after Christmas. We had a few bites out of it, but ended up throwing it away because it just wasn't very good anyway and by the time we got to talk to an employee, it would have been bad. Dec 26th my mom went in to see if we could have it remade so we could freeze it for our anniversary or refunded. The owner had the most disrespectful attitude saying between "ALL of the calls and emails" he couldn't keep up, and it was her fault. Mind you the cake wasn't even close to her original order either... He said he would refund her if we brought the original cake in (a week later). He kept trying to make her feel stupid with snide comments... Thankfully she stood her ground and didn't accept anything less than a full refund which he eventually gave her after arguing with her and making her cry, saying we should just be thankful they even made it in the first place because they normally don't even do things for "as cheap as $50" As she was walking out he said to her "If they still have the cake you should try it because it's really good..." as I mentioned before we threw it away because it was not very good... The whole experience was just very disheartening. We had heard such good things and maybe this was a one off situation, but we have a reception planned for over 200 people next year and we will absolutely not be ordering from here again. We are also in the event community and won't be sending recommendations here any longer after our personal experience. Making a mistake is one thing. Things happen especially around the holidays, but to push blame and verbally insult another person as a business owner is another. We are incredibly disappointed. Pictures of the email for clarification with photo examples and the cake we received.

The lavender flavor took over 1.5 years in the making! The texture was just right, the cream inside the cupcake was a nice surprise and not too sweet. I hope to try the strawberry lemonade next time!
