I thought I'd update the review. I ended up getting in contact with the gentleman who responded and was offered one free oil change. I thought that was funny and I thought it might be to anyone reading this too. An oil change is about $30-$50, a limited slip differential is probably about $500+ with parts and labor. Oh well. AVOID TAKING YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS MAZDA REPAIR SHOP EVEN WHEN TRYING TO GET AN ESTIMATE ON REPAIRS. THIS REPAIR SHOP WILL CUT INTO YOUR VEHICLE CAUSING FURTHER DAMAGE TO SEE IF ANYTHING NEEDS TO BE "PARTIALLY" or "FULLY" REPAIRED. The manager, Fred, who makes poor judgment decisions, cut into a vehicle that was not authorized, or consented. He played dumb and said he was advised by the insurance company to do such thing. The vehicle was not owned by the shop, dealership, or the paid out by the insurance company. I dropped off a drivable vehicle on 07/2018 and did not receive anything in return. Fred, refused to reassemble the vehicle and put it back in a drivable state . I did not a payout or anything to accommodate from the shop, or the insurance company. YOUR PRIVATELY OWNED VEHICLES WILL BE TAMPERED AND FURTHER DAMAGED AND THEY WILL NOT BE RETURNED BACK TO YOU. This shop should be sued for their poor decisions read more

My engine light came on an my local Fletchers could not fix it. I decided to head to the dealer. They did get it to shut off....and found an additional $2,000 in repair work. About 2 days later the light came back on....frustrating. They got me in again quickly but it took about 2 hours for them to figure out the problem. I would not usually mind but I did tell them I had things to do and to please keep me posted on the progress. I did not hear from anyone for about 90 min when I went out to check on their progress....no word but they would check. About 30 min later I was told it was done. My CX9 now runs great but I would have liked a bit more communication on the progress read more

I love this place. I got my leased car from here because I was not sure I wanted to commit to Mazda for full ownership. I grew up with Toyotas. However the service I have had here, especially with Jennifer (she is amazing and deserves all the raises), and my enjoyment with the car means I will be buying from here when my lease ends. This location has amazing customer service and just has good people on staff. People who actually care about other people and have a great attitude. Working in customer service myself I really can appreciate the extra steps they take to make you feel heard and considered. Justin and team are the Best! I was bummed when the Scottsdale location closed but after testing two other Mazda locations south of Bell Rd., I will be sticking with this location with out a doubt. They are fast, give legitimate feedback and literature about repair quotes and do not upsell unnecessary repair services. The more my quotes go up at a dealership, the more detailed and specific my questions get-this didn't have to happen here! They also honored competitive Mazda Phx. area coupons with a smile and kept everything straight-forward. (I actually think that their services are better than before). I appreciate that I always got an update about the status of my services with out having to ask. Lastly, Justin was patient enough to take in and answer all of my questions about any future maintenance and has remained really easy to work with. Ive had it with the service department. First of all when i bought the car i was promised $29 oil changes for the life of the car. Less than a year later it was no longer being honored. Next they started enforcing appointment times for oil changes (latest appt is 3:30). For someone that has a job, thats a little challenging. Not to mention the worlds most annoying service advisor Nik will try and up sale every service known to man (not to mention repeat himself over and over and over again until you either buy the service or cut him off). Not to mention it somehow takes them at least an hour to change oil. The final strike is due to having a job, i was 30 min late for my oil change appointment and was informed that all the techs went home... it was 4 pm... service hours are up to 6 pm... Congrats on losing a future car sell (ive purchased 3 cars from chapman dealerships). read more

Under New Management! I've had my car since February 2012. I had been bringing it here because my contract included a lifetime oil change for $9.99. Awesome, right!! WRONG!!! Now that they've relocated & have undergone new management they no longer honor that $9.99 price. And to top it off, my wait time for an oil change was 1.5 hours. What a waste of time! This has been and continues to be the WORST choice of car companies and financing companies I have EVER heard of. I'm going to keep this short and somewhat rant free because if I don't I'll be writing a novel instead of a review. First issue: The worlds most condescending finance manager. I have never, in all my years, been spoken to with such utter disrespect. I barely said a word throughout the process and yet I was spoken to as though I couldn't even get the name portion correct on an IQ test. They acted as though I could not comprehend simple words and phrases despite my prompt and polite responses. By the time I was done with this prick (overweight, 50's, mustache, shit eating grin) I came close to just tearing up the contract and punching him in the face. Why on god's green earth you'd want to treat a paying customer like that I have no idea, and I really don't care - there is NO excuse for it. I cannot believe this person hasn't been fired yet, as I assume he speaks to other customers in this same manner, not to mention subordinates, colleagues, co-workers, etc. If you're upper management and you're reading this, don't take my word for it, listen in on the next few people who come in and see the kind of customer service your customers are getting. Second issue: Everything about the process was dishonest, from the sham "High Tech" warranty that covers exactly nothing, to the internet discount, the fees, the quality and stability of the car (I've had to take it in to an actually REPUTABLE auto shop 3 times for various issues), to the finance company that puts so many road blocks in your way for issues you have that you will NEVER get your issues resolved. EVER. Bottom line - NEVER purchase or finance a car from these people, they will absolutely screw you over and will not even attempt to fix it. These people need to be investigated for FRAUD. read more

I want to give a "shout out" to Jesse McMahan, the General Manager at Chapman Mazda, 1234 W. Bell Road in Phoenix, AZ. Recently, we attended a run to his establishment with our club, the Old Pueblo Miata Club out of Tucson, AZ. For a nominal fee, one could enter their cherished chariot in the car show, and/or purchase raffle tickets for the grand prize. ALL proceeds from either of these choices went to the Japan Relief Fund. This event wasn't necessarily about selling cars, but rather the generating of funds to help out the folks in Japan beleaguered by the horrendous actions of a still very -active planet. It was the first of its kind for Chapman; a gathering of many Miata enthusiasts: (cue the "Zoom-Zoom" song here) for clubs, individuals and owners of these wonderful machines. My husband was holding the winning ticket for a COMPLETE set of Mazda tires. He almost fell over when his number was called, and asked the emcee to repeat it again, as he couldn't believe his good fortune. We were absolutely thrilled to win those beautiful tires. We've never won anything like that ever before. What really impressed us was the fact that Mr. Mc Mahan arranged to have the tires sent to us. His original estimate was: "Within a week's time." While this would have been great as it stood, Jesse called the following Monday morning to tell us there was a vehicle coming to Tucson from Chapman in Phoenix that very same day, and that they'd put the tires in that vehicle for the trip. All I had to do was to pick them up from the Jim Click Mazda at 6244 East 22nd Street here in Tucson. When I called, Tony, the manager at the Tucson location verified the tires had safely arrived and to come get them. Jesse McMahan's generous gesture was above and beyond. To tell you that impressed us both even more, is an understatement. When I come across a company and/or person that delivers outstanding service, and does indeed go 'above and beyond' like Chapman Mazda did, they make my day. Here is a company that I would be more than happy to do business with. On Jesse's business card, it reads: "Not your Cookie Cutter Dealer." And the top line of that card reads: "If you're into cookie cutters, throw this away. If you're into the driver's alternative, contact Jesse McMahan. " We will, Jesse. We will. read more

I wanted a used Mazda and started my search online. Turned out that three of the vehicles I wanted to see were at Chapman. I caught a few reviews of Chapman that were positive. Like most people, I hate buying cars, especially from dealers. That old thing of haggling and the sales person running back and forth to the sales manager and all that. But the reviews I read were right. The people at Chapman are knowledgeable, professional, and understanding. We chose a car we liked and thought we could afford, but when the dealers start adding all those fees and other charges, it's mind boggling how much what you pay goes up. We didn't have it. We knew how much we could pay and we pleaded our case to our salesman, Dee. He said he just wanted to make us happy and sell us a car. So, yes, we did the haggling and the running thing but in the end we got what we wanted. Just barely, but that's buying a car these days, even a good used one. I'd highly recommend Chapman Mazda. Wow...after thinking about buying a car from Chapman I was surprised to find that the sales and service were very poor. I am a younger gal and maybe they profiled me as one who has poor credit or doesn't know what she's doing, but that's not the case. I went in with a hefty down payment and a credit score at 779...they first tried to get me at a 9% interest rate and had my payments at almost $250 a month! Well, after declining the offer and leaving a message on the sales manager's phone early afternoon I had a phone call from the sales manager at 9:30pm acting like he never got my message. Then I had another text message at 11:30pm at night...it gets better...wait. The message states that they could get my payment down to almost $160! Wow! My problem...why was my time wasted and why would they want to jack me around like this? I felt this experience was one of the poorest I have ever had with buying a vehicle. To top it all off, I put a $500 deposit to hold the car while I slept on it and a week later, the credit still hasn't been filed. Very, very disappointed with the experience and I would never advise to buy from this dealership. What did I end up doing? Buying a Toyota Highlander from Audi of Scottsdale. They are top-notch and right off the bat were able to do exactly what I wanted in 45 minutes. Moral of the story go with your gut and go to Audi of Scottsdale. read more

I had been taking my MazdaSpeed3 to Chapman Mazda since I bought it two years ago. I had always been satisfied until this week. My services used to run about $40 and they were done in a hour or less. Yesterday it took over 2.5 hours and it cost me $350. And there was nothing wrong with it. They also used to have 2 waiting rooms and they don't any more. I won't be taking my Mazda back to Chapman and I won't be buying a new Mazda (planned for next year) from them either. read more

I haven't purchased from this dealership yet, but I was very impressed with the customer service, attitude and knowledge of our salesman, Michael, during our test drive of the Mazda CX 5. First he introduced himself to our kids also, which is surprisingly rare. He offered us all water. Then he pulled the two models of interest to us in the parking spaces right outside so we didn't have to walk all over the lot. He knew all the answers to my questions. He showed me all the features on the car, but wasn't at all pushy. We drove one model with him in the car and he wasn't overly chatty, which was great. Then he let our family drive another model alone since there wasn't quite room for five. I haven't decided yet on a make and model, but if I do go with the Mazda CX 5 or the Hyundai Santa Fe, I will certainly call Michael first to try and make a deal. read more

The Service Manager and team at Chapman (Justin Lenocker) deserve 5 stars for taking over problems they inherited from Grieco Mazda Delray Beach, Florida, which is where I purchased my new 2018 CX5. Before driving my new CX5 from Florida to AZ, I brought my car to Grieco in Florida and had many issues including dishonesty about any services which were NOT even performed on my car. During my travels, my car malfunctioned and started making a very loud noise from the rear. Upon arrival in AZ (2900) miles later, I took my car to Chapman where Justin discovered the rear brakes were installed backwards and Grieco never did any services to my vehicle at all! I thank Justin and his staff for their courtesy and patience. They gave me a loaner car and repaired my vehicle to Mazda standards. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND CHAPMAN for any of your Mazda needs in Arizona. read more

Local teacher ripped-off and ignored by service center, Mazda corporate and Mazda Roadside Assistance. Unreliable, under-staffed, up-selling, overcharging service center that will leave you stranded after taking all the money they possibly can from you and Mazda corporate. I will never use a Mazda service center again after my experience with this service center. I ADORE my Mazda, and it is highly unlikely that I will EVER purchase another Madza after my experience with this service center. I brought in my 2016 Mazda3 for its regular 30,000 maintenance - having religiously followed all of the recommended services on the Mazda. My mistake was not looking at any of the reviews or any of the Reddit guides to the $600 rip-off that is this service. I told the HEAD of the maintenance department Justin that I was a public school teacher who had VERY limited funds, but needed my car to run perfectly, and so I would trust him and do whatever was necessary - but would appreciate him not doing any services unless they were 100% necessary - he said that every point of the $600 service was required to keep my car running (a complete lie according to the internet... and when I received the detailed bill I noticed that he charged my $45 to replace my three wiper blades... which didn't need replacing). The most important part is that I told Justin that my ignition was not working consistently, and that I thought I had a battery problem. When I returned, he didn't mention my battery until I asked him - and then he said "oh yeah, it tested green so it's all good." And I said ".... Ok, I really need my car to work" and he said "It's in perfect condition." .... 10 days later I went to turn on my car and it wouldn't start at all. I tried to have a friend jump my car, and it didn't take the jump. I called Mazda and was transferred to voicemail twice. When I called a third time and said that I was literally missing work because of the dead battery the receptionist replied "well we only have one tech scheduled - so what do you want me to do?" I asked to be put through to the manager and the receptionist replied "she's also working in the service center so isn't available." The receptionist works 20 feet away from the service center... for a $600 maintenance that left me with a non-functional car and caused me to lose out on my work for the day, I expect her to stand up and walk out to the service center and get someone on the phone. After 40 minutes of trying to get someone on the phone, Wayne called me back, expressed his regret that he couldn't take my call earlier and told me to call Mazda Roadside Assistance to get a free tow to the dealership. Wayne was the ONLY person in this sad saga of incompetence that offered to help me - and the ONLY person during what would become a four day ordeal that expressed ANY regret for the events and the money. I called the Mazda Roadside Assistance number and they said a tow truck would be there within 60 minutes. After 90 minutes no tow-truck had arrived, and I received a robo-call asking how happy I was with my tow... I was connected to someone from Mazda Roadside Assistance who had zero idea about why I was calling... she then informed me that the truck was 'stuck in traffic' and would be there in 30 minutes. She then told me she had no way of ensuring a truck actually arrived, and that I should call back every 30 minutes until a tow truck arrived. I did this, and for the next THREE HOURS was lied to routinely about how a truck (ordered at noon) was stuck in THREE HOURS of traffic in Phoenix Arizona (where the ADOT showed zero traffic on any highway).... I finally called them on the lie and the operator said "well it could also be that they're having trouble finding a tow truck..." indicating that they had been lying to me for the past three hours. At this point I called the corporate complaint line, and told my whole story to a service rep. He told me the same thing that Justin would later say: that he was sorry for my experience, but that batteries can die and that they have no control over the tow trucks because they are independently contracted by Mazda. This is true (That Mazda doesn't own the tow trucks) - but when a company hires out a contract to either a call center or a tow truck company, they are still acknowledging that this is THEIR SERVICE contracted out - as such both the terrible service I received from the call center and from the tow service are AUTHORIZED and PAID FOR by Mazda - and reflect on Mazda's belief in the value of handling customer issues thoughtfully and efficiently ... again, Mazda didn't care about the time and money it had taken from me. So here we are, two weeks later - and NO ONE from Mazda corporate has followed up with me. NO ONE from Mazda Roadside Assistance has contacted me. And, NO ONE from the Mazda Service Center had contacted me.... Again, NO ONE CARED. read more
