Delicious buffet style breakfast! We were pleasantly surprised with just how good it was. It was buffet style but served by staff members (due to covid) so that customers were not touching anything at all, just letting the staff put what you want on your plate. The scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, waffles, pancakes and muffins were all cooked to perfection! The typical fruit salad of honeydew melon, canteloupe, pineapple and grapes was so fresh. 2 parts to this review. First-food Second-sanitation/cleanliness. The food we had was absolutely delicious. Although it was only breakfast I would actually give it 5 stars. We had the homemade corned beef hash with huge chunks of meat, scrambled eggs, home fries and English muffin. We also had the make your own omelet which was loaded with everything. It was big and fluffy also served with home fries and English muffin. I'm not usually a fan of big chunk potatoes but I think these were deep fried or maybe convection oven because they were crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Now to the other part of my review. We had coffee and water. When my water came there was something floating in it AND the glass had 3 food items stuck to the inside, which does happen sometimes after it comes from the dishwasher, but still people should be checking for these kinds of things. The coffee. Each table was given a carafe which I thought was great because you don't have to wait for a second cup if you want more coffee. The table is set with trays of assorted sugars and bowls of refrigerator-type creamers. First cup of coffee was fine.. second cup not so much. When I made my second cup, the creamer curdled which I informed the waitress, but now it turned me off and didn't another cup. So creamers are being left out/not rotated. The OJ looked good, lots of pulp but it was actually watered down. Good thing it was included in our breakfast package because if we had to pay $3 for it like most restaurants we would have sent it back. Then, just by chance, because of the direction that I chose to sit, I got to witness the girls clearing and resetting the tables. They cleared the plates, wiped the tables down, touched the chairs pushing them all in, put out place mats, napkins, and then without over washing their hands, proceeded to set the silverware by placing them down touching EVERY piece by the opposite end. Like literally every piece, she touched the tines of every fork, the round part of every spoon, the cutting edge of every butter knife. Not the handle but the part that touches your food. Why on earth would you set the silverware by touching that part?? Thankfully our food hadn't shown up yet so I polished off my silverware with my napkin although I had used my spoon for my coffee. I have said this in the past, I think EVERY person that works with anything that has to do with food should be required by LAW to take sanitation classes. Yes maybe nobody got sick yesterday, but why would any establishment want to risk that when it is something that can easily be avoided with a little common sense. Ok, rant over! read more

Champney's was a huge disappointment. We ate there three times (shame on us) during our stay at the Red Jacket, but that was due to a pre-paid meal plan. Trust me -- I tried to get out of it. The dinner buffet was a wash of limp, bland, overcooked food that even my preschool child found underwhelming. The place is very family-friendly, but that led to a lot of little hands reaching directly into chafing dishes to grab things, cross-contamination of foods, and dropped serving utensils, which went un-remedied while we were there. The breakfast buffet was the same, only with more grease and congealed fat. There was no creativity, no pleasant surprises. The best thing going was the honeydew melon. The breakfast off the menu might as well have been from a buffet. The food was room temperature by the time we got it. The kitchen could not manage to produce meals for our party of three at the same time, so the 4-year old had to wait for her pancakes. Not good. I won't be eating there again. Ever. read more

Great buffets and service! Huge dinner selection. When staying at the Red Jacket it makes sense to stay and eat here.

Very yummy breakfast! We decided to stay at the hotel for breakfast, so my kiddos would have more time playing in the waterpark in the morning. We were not disappointed. We actually didn't want to go because it was at least $10 each for breakfast. But, it was worth it. We got TONS of food. The server told us the chef was very generous with his portions, and he sure was. We order one kids pancakes (which came with two), but the chef made three Mickey Mouse pancakes, one for each kid - without charging us extra. I ordered the corn beef hash and eggs. YUM! And the potatoes were huge. My hubby ordered the blueberry pancakes and he ate all of them! The server gave us little maple jars for our pancakes. And then at the end of our meal, she gave us three new ones so we can take them home. We will be glad to go back there for breakfast again! read more

I had fond memories of this place from a meal there in childhood, but a recent visit was very disappointing. The room was ice cold and the decor was dated and felt like a funeral home. Jarring was the "hawaiian" shirts of the waitstaff. The unlimited buffet boasted a salad bar, yet Wendy's carries a larger selection. The kids menu was hot dogs floating in water. Yuck. Not for 20 dollars. I understand that a hotel restaurant is not the cheapest place to go, but I feel that price should come in exchange for something more than a view. An update is needed. read more

First day Aug 2nd; here we ate bfast and it was OFF THE CHAIN!, for ppl complaining about it being over priced stop crying and get it included in your package deal that they offer like we did we eat all week bfast covered....you expect a place like this to run on chump change smh then I'm sure ppl will complain wishing that dinner be included as well...anyway back to the food...(as far as bfast goes) nice variety of choices of starches, fruits, meat, and made to order eggs however you like with the side items included for omelets. Staff super friendly we still got 4 more days to go here here...and so far kids are having a blast of a time! Love it so far so good will be adding a end review once trip is completed read more

If you are staying here this place hits the spot for breakfast with a huge buffet and plenty of stations including pancakes, french toast, plenty of cereal and an omelet station and even belgian waffles. If you include this with your room it works out to be like $25 total per day. We ate here for breakfast and dinner three days in a row. Staff is very friendly and helpful and loves kids. However dinner is a different story. The food is mediocre in fact just downright plain with some odd selections including meatloaf, pork chops, plus all sort of sandwiches and pub food like nachos and sliders. There are two menus to choose from and even salads, but don't get your hopes up. The meals are bland and taste like they are made in bulk instead of made to order. Even the salads are bad. We only ate here every night because it is easier and there was no line and kids were restless. If I had a choice I would have eaten down the street at the few other restaurants close by. Plus prices here aren't cheap, for a pork chop I paid $23? Good news is they have a full bar and service is friendly and somewhat fast at times. One night it was so slow we had to flag down our waitress to ask when the food was coming. If you can avoid this place for dinner, do it. However breakfast is okay. This place is very meat and potatoes and does an ok job with it. Good for kids. Lots of choices at buffet.

Overpriced dinners. I can't even explain the poor quality. Shrimp stir fry - shrimp was tough and fishy tasting. Salad dressings lacked proper acid and oil balance. And chx fajitas were salty but otherwise tasteless. Just stay away. read more
