Food was good. Bourbon burger and fries was excellent. Rylie the server was great. But if you want to call yourself a "Martini Bar" you need more than 5 martinis on your menu!

We live around the corner and decided to try this local restaurant called Deacon Street. There was no wait and we got seated immediately. We looked at the menu which was very small and saw no soda options on it besides alcoholic beverages that mostly didn't have prices on them. They gave us a pitcher of room temperature water with no ice to go with it. We ordered 2 cokes which were flat and watered down. Those issues are small so we wanted to give them a chance and ordered the onion rings. Man were they disappointing. The batter was super dark, unseasoned, and greasy. The onions on the inside were greasy and super stringy and as tough as beef jerky. They get served with an wierd sauce called "Boom Boom" sauce which tasted super Wierd mixed with onion rings and tasted more like it should belong on a hibachi dish instead. The main course came out and the brussel sprouts looked like burnt dog puke on a plate (see photo). They tasted like unseasoned overcooked kale with balsamic dressing dumped all over it. Then I moved onto the mashed potatoes which tasted cold and bland. Finally the last part of the 25$ dish the small steak tips that look non existent next to the burnt "sprouts". We cut into them and they were medium rare like we asked so we tried them. We got this odd slimy taste in our mouths with every bite. I cut a piece open and smelt it and the meat was rancid. We informed the waitress immediately and the food was returned. She came back and claimed that the kitchen said it was the marinade that the steak was cooked in. I have had steak tips from all over the place and non of them have been slimy. She did offer that we could choose something else off the menu but we really wanted steak and did not want to risk getting sick from ordering another cut of meat so we declined. I was nice and offered to pay for the sodas and onion rings which visibly upset the waitress. We somehow felt like it was our fault that we were served rancid steak and bad food. I paid 16 bucks and left and will not be returning to this place again. You will get better steak at Applebees than this place. I love to support local restaurants being local but this is a sad restaurant. Before we left the waitress said "Try us again" and we will not. After an hour has passed from eating the food we feel sick.

First off, this bar, located in the Regency Hotel, was so welcoming and comfortable. There were big comfy seats set up around small tables so if you were with a group of 4 it was a great spot to sit and talk while you ate or drank. The high tea is currently priced at $33 per person. We had a choice of a few different teas or coffee, and the tiered tray of savories, scones, and sweets. Each person received their own pot of tea, and you were able to get refills. The sandwiches were a smoked salmon, cucumber and cream cheese, and small lobster roll on brioche. There were two types of scones, with one being an Earl Grey tea glazed. There was a good array of sweets with several delicious Macarons, and other small petite fours. All three of us had plenty to eat with a few take-home items. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. Best part is there is free valet parking so you don't have to worry about finding a spot in downtown Portland. It was a lovely afternoon and we would definitely do this again! Highly recommended!

I stayed at this hotel recently and thought I'd try the whiskey bar. My wife works in a senior role…read morefor a major whiskey company and I've gotten to know the products quite well. I am also a member of a local Drammers club where I live. This bar has various whiskey bottle boxes littered throughout the window ledges of the bar and I saw a couple that I really like and that are not usually in what I would call "regular" whiskey bars (where the bar markets itself as a whiskey bar but only carries basic stuff). There was nobody in the bar at the time as it was early. So, I inquired with the bartender as to whether they had the products in the boxes (which are empty) and she said we have some stuff but not others and we have a menu that is not up to date. I said i'd come back as I had to make a plan with my wife as to whether any of the relatives traveling with us would join me after we put our son to bed. I returned to the bar probably maybe an hour later later with my mother in law (my other relatives when to get food and my wife watched our son in the room). I grabbed the menu booklet and saw almost none of the whiskeys displayed on the window sills. I was specifically looking at the Islays and it was honestly slim pickens in the menu. But, given the bartender said they had some stuff not listed in the booklet, I thought i would ask. I've been to many whiskey bars all over the world and bartenders are usually very helpful when you're looking for something or something similar if the bar does not have what you're looking for. We waited and waited and waited while the Bartender walked by us multiple times ignoring us. I finally walked up next to the bar and stood waiting to ask the Bartender a question. She was the only person working and obviously had stuff to do but literally appeared to be going out of her way to ignore me. There were a total of 5 people in the whole bar area, 2 of whom were eating dinner at the bar and 3 guys who had ordered (there were another 4 in the lounge area but they were fully served and just playing cards). That's it. I stood next to the bar for a full 10 min with no acknowledgment or anything. I could see some of the brand I was looking at on the rack but not the specific product so thought I would ask if they had anything else tucked away. Finally i got a "i'll be right with you" but by this point, I was pretty frustrated. Now, when I was in my early 20s, I worked in a bar and even bartended. I get being busy. But with this amount of people to not even raise your head for a second to acknowledge my presence when I'm 3 feet away from you until I literally had to stand there for a while...all while clearly seeing me was quite insulting. I walked back to the table and my mother in law and i decided to leave. She was watching the whole thing and wanted to complain to the hotel management but I told her not to. I see in other reviews the Bartender is highly praised. Maybe the she rhought I was a pest or not serious or something-i don't know. All I can say is this Bartender lost out on a nice tip as I usually order good stuff if they have it. Oh well, fortunately this did not take away from an otherwise excellent stay at the hotel and vacation in Portland.

They decked it out with Halloween decorations and bartenders were dressed up. We had Bojack Horseman serving us who was a top notch bartender, friendly, answered any questions and had good vibes! My wife tried their Pineapple Daiquiri and their Espresso Martini. I went with the Halloween themed drinks and got the Rest In Peeses that was a peanut butter (Reese's) themed Old Fashioned. Secondly I grabbed their Plenty Evil that was inspired by the Good & Plenty candy Absinthe Frappe. My wife's drinks were phenomenal and would both be go to orders for her and we both found a new favorite Espresso Martini. My first drink nailed the perfect mix of peanut butter flavor with a classic Old Fashioned. Secondly despite not being a huge licorice/good & plenty candy this drink was delicious! It feels like a secret, but I know it's not a well kept one! Our server Nico (apologies if I've misspelled that!) was wonderful. He was friendly and helpful when we made our dinner choices. The other servers were also always on top of keeping our table clear and our water filled. The food was absolute perfection. We started with a salad and grilled octopus. The salad was bright and acidic which paired perfectly with the best octopus dish I've had. It was so tender and delicious, I've never had octopus that was that tender. The grilled flavor came through immediately, but never overwhelmed the delicate flavor of the octopus. For mains I had sole francaise and my husband had bone in monkfish. The sole was melt in your mouth good. It was lightly breaded and cooked in a pan with brown butter. It was so toasty and nutty and coated the green beans and simple, but perfect, red potatoes it was served with. My husband's monkfish was fresh and perfectly toothsome, served with fluffy Roman gnocchi and romesco sauce. My only regret is not having enough room for dessert because I'm sure it's incredible as well! I can't wait to return the next time we're in Portland. Just to note: this is one of the least accessibility-friendly areas of the city. The old cobblestone road that it's located on is foot traffic only. The closest approach is if you're dropped off at the end of and it you would still have a short distance to travel. There is a brick footpath on the sides of the cobblestone road that is slightly smoother, but still not ideal. Earlier in the day I was able to navigate the street okay on foot so it will depend on your capabilities. That being said, I took my motorized travel chair down there in the evening and Street and co were happy to let me fold it up and store it near the door.
