Perfectly cooked, super flavorful, and the combo of the seafood with the burger just worked way better than I expected. The whole vibe in here feels local and comfortable, like the kind of spot you stumble into once and immediately want to come back to. Service was quick and friendly too. If you're anywhere near the area, this place is 100% worth stopping in for--especially that Surf & Turf Burger. I'd go back just for that alone.

As a nice joke on the name, there is a small hole in the wall that is enclosed that you can see from the outside. The walls are filled with old decorations, TVs, Conway signs and decor. The food was overall good. We started with the Thai salad. It was enormous and comes with pepper, sunflower seeds, cranberry, sunflower seed dried, almonds, and more. This salad was so good that we got it to go the next day! For entrees we got the Texas Tornado sandwich (boneless chicken breast with bacon) and the Surf and Turf Burger. The chicken wasn't dry and the sweet potato fries ($2 upcharge) were good. For the surf and turf, I didn't feel like the lobster blended well with the burger so I took it off and ate it separately. The French fries were finger licking good! Our waitress was really nice and friendly and make some good conversation and recommendations. The wait time for our entrees was a little slow.

A small bar as you enter that was full when we came in. We sat at a small table in the bar area. Everyone was very nice and our waitress was attentive enough - but she seemed a bit busy. But all was fine service wise. So....the food. It's weird. Like trying too hard to be different but just didn't hit the mark for me. I see bread on a menu and I get excited! So immediately I ordered the Parmesan bread with dill pickle butter. The bread was warm and I enjoyed it but the butter with dill pickle just didn't work for me. Lots of other things to me could have complemented the bread better. Then we order the lettuce wraps, they were ok. My friend ordered the duck and I tried it and we both really liked it! The vegetables were good! My sirloin....the steak itself was good despite being a tad overcooked for medium rare. Something on the plate had a curry flavor - it just didn't all go together well. Then the lemon ricotta cheesecake....we didn't taste any lemon, it was thick and weirdly dry for a cheesecake. It also had freeze dried something on top....we actually weren't sure what. Some bright spots - the food quality! You can tell that these are top notch high quality ingredients, and the cocktails! They were yummy! I just don't like the weird combos and what (to me) feels like being weird for the sake of being different versus just being good. Since I only come up here a few times a season I likely will go to our other favorites or try new spots.

Walked in 15 mins later with my girlfriend, we were warmly welcomed by Jo Jo who could not be any nicer, she did indeed seat as right away but she gave us a quick overview of the menu, made recommendations & then led us to a nice table in the dining room. we started off with excellent drinks ( my painkiller was mad exactly how I liked them making me feel like I was back in Yost Van Dyke in Virgin Islands, we got the fried calamari ( as Jo Jo recommended which was excellent)! For entrees , I got Short Rib Marsala ( another one of Jo Jo's recommendations ), it was the best Short Rib , I ever had, girlfriend got a steak which was perfectly cooked just as she ordered. We had no room for dessert but both were so satisfied. Jo Jo waved good bye & we vowed to return again next time we were in the area. Thanks Jo Jo & all @ Tuckerman's for a great dinner !

VERY BUSY - There was really nowhere to comfortably wait without feeling like you were in they way. We ended up standing outside with the Easter Bunny. LOL The Interior dining near the bar does not have a view. Most larger parties (6+) were on the interior side of the restaurant. Nice ambience with the piano player. They had a nice buffet - breakfast / lunch sweet and savory options. Favorites- Prime Rib Waffles Bacon Sausage Salmon Kitchen provided pancakes and eggs benedict if asked While we waited for our table we got a couple of drinks at the bar and the staff was both nice and funny. They had a funny banter with each other. Host/manager - very stressed but kept her focus and was sincerely thankful for people being patient. I was impressed with her stamina, she was just back from a medical leave for a spinal fusion. She and I chatted while coming back from the restroom. She was doing great and was very organized. And when she called out names, you could actually hear her! Easter bunny - scheduled times for egg hunt. Pictures and candy. Parking is limited especially during these times Always make a reservation!

We came here last night - a Friday - for dinner. I had sent my Boyfriend a few suggestions of…read moreplaces to eat in North Conway, and this is the one he picked - it was a great choice! It was a bit further away than we anticipated - we were staying by Settlers Green outlets and it was a 15-min drive. But the grounds looked spectacular, even in March (Smarch!) and the White Mountain Resort looks so beautiful. I would definitely look into staying there on a future trip! We loved the restaurant too! Beautiful decor. It is attached to the pub next door (Tuckaway Tavern I think?) - the whole area is open and sort of separated by the piano. I loved that there was a live piano player! Love live music with dinner. The views of the mountains were amazing. Unfortunately there was a glare from the widow glass so we couldn't really see anything when it got dark (cue Boyfriend going on for 10 min about how this could be improved by redesigning the windows on a slanted angle blah blah ). We loved the food too! They offer wine flights which was really interesting. Boyfriend had a Caesar salad and I had the French onion soup to start - best French onion I've had in a while, with quite the cheese pull. Very flavorful. He had the 14 oz steak with fries as main course and I had the lobster mac and cheese. Boyfriend *loved* his choice and was super impressed with the steak, very well cooked with a charcoal-y flavor. My dish had lots of big lobster pieces and was tasty, but a little too "saucy" for my taste. I would try something else next time. We ended the evening with a brownie with ice cream for Boyfriends birthday - our wonderful server Miranda even put a candle on it - she was great all through dinner and very professional. Overall we loved this place! I was a bit apprehensive given the reviews and because I've never been impressed with North Conway dining in general, but the only two negative about this place were the bread served early on (multigrain - we couldn't eat it) and my Mac and cheese being a bit too liquidy. Other than that - perfect evening and we would come back!

We decided to go away for thanksgiving this year and chose to go to the Wild Rose for Thanksgiving…read moredinner. Overall I found the entire experience to be lackluster compared to how it was in previous years. The first thing we saw when we arrived was the hostess and I was shocked by her outfit. Her dress was far too short and not appropriate at all for a holiday or the level of upscale dining we were paying for. We were seated immediately but then service dragged. We got bread long before our drinks. Our first course came quickly but the soups were lukewarm at best. I had the apple salad and found it to be extremely refreshing and not at all what I expected but in a good way! The star of the meal was dinner, however, they gave me the wrong side. The waiter did quickly remedy the situation but again for this level of dining I expected better. The prime rib was absolutely out of this world. The herb crust was amazing. However I was quite disappointed with the presentation it was dropped on top of the mashed potatoes and bled over everything. My mother had the thanksgiving dinner and she loved it. She especially liked the sausage stuffing which is not something she would normally eat and was impressed by it. The desserts were average and to be honest I again expected better. For three people we paid about $450. If I am spending that much money on dinner I want to be floored by the entire experience and I just wasn't. If I'm being completely honest the prime rib saved this review. So I hope the chefs get credit for it!!
