A true American old country store. When you walk in, there is so much to look at, many jars of different pickled items. Knick Nacks, cards and such. There is a great bakery case next to the deli case where you order your sandwich. I believe there are twelve different sandwiches. I got the number eight which was a grilled panini filled with deliciousness...chicken, pesto, baby spinach, and roasted red peppers. My boyfriend got a turkey club wrap with chipotle mayo. He loved it! I can't remember what number his was. They call your name when ready. You can grab any type of chips, beer, wine, or soda and then pay. Plenty of seating inside. Very quaint. Not too sweet and just right. My wife made a comment when we ate here, that when you watch diners on TV like on Gilmore Girls, there's always someone who's walking around with a pot of coffee and when you come in and sit immediately ask you if you want coffee. She's never really experienced that in real life, and granted I haven't either, anyway this place is like that.

What an adorable cafe!…read more We stopped in before we headed home to have coffee and breakfast. We arrived at a quiet point in the morning rush, but they do get very busy! Service is friendly and fast though even when they're packed. I had a turmeric maple latte which was unique and delicious. Along with that I had the Mountain Mama sandwich which had an egg, hummus, goat cheese, and vegetables on a super soft English muffin. It was delicious! My husband had a hummus bagel with cucumbers and tomato and it was a great light start to the day. We also tried a ham and cheese croissant which was good. It was the softer bread style croissant and had chopped rosemary ham and cheese which was delicious, I only wished there was more of it! I brought a maple molasses cookie and a butterscotch cookie home. They were both so delicious and chewy! My only criticism is I wish there was a touch more salt, but I'm nitpicking. Highly recommend stopping in for a light breakfast or lunch, and taking some baked goods for the trail!

The wedding we attended featured them, and after trying a few, I knew I had to visit the shop myself. They're perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and genuinely some of the best I've had. On top of that, the people who work here are so kind. It feels like the sort of place where everyone is happy to see you walk in. If you're passing through, or in town for an event like we were, this bakery is absolutely worth a stop.

What went wrong? French fries delivered aside one of the two sandwich dishes was luke warm and nearly cold. Fries on the second sandwich dish were regular potatoes but we ordered sweet potato fries. Took 15-20 minutes to fix. Only 1 TV working on NFL playoff football weekend, and this TV was out of view of our table. Another TV located elsewhere was said to be non-operational due to a satellite dish having reception problems related to a couple of inches of "snow." The salmon add-on to the salad was overcooked and dry. So an overcooked salmon salad totaled $32, which are NYC prices for mediocre NH food. Service was very slow. It was a busy Saturday, so we didn't expect speed. What went right? Enjoyed the Brussel Sprouts appetizer. Loved a Czech beer on tap. Wildcat has a very decent tap menu. The overall ambience of the tavern-restaurant was excellent, and we especially appreciated the live music, which featured a guitarist playing 70's - 90's classic rock standards.
