While the prices were very low the food quality was reflective of that. My friend and I both got the turkey wrap which was good but the tortilla chips that came with the dish were stale. We let the server know so she brought us some more of the same, stale chips. My friend ended up ordering fries which seemed like they were stale and had been refried. My husband got the turkey and gravy which was pretty good since there was real turkey breast on the white bread. The dish came with fries. The French dip was less than satisfactory due to the dry, bland beef. Our other friend had an order of chicken wings but they were the freezer to fryer type with the gooey breading on them. He also had the mountain burger which was ok. Server was attentive. Interior was decorated with ski related decor which was pleasant to see. We don't think we will return. read more

Melt in your mouth roast beef on a simple, super fresh roll. The service is friendly and respectful. Worth a visit if you love a roast beef sandwich, although they have a lot of menu options if beef isn't your thing. The shop is tucked in a bit out of view on the main drag in North Conway. Turn around if you drive by! read more

Great bartenders and outdoor seating area, but meh food. I'm sorry! The coleslaw was not great, but the onion rings were! Definitely get those. Loved the waitstaff. Super affordable menu. Just stick with the tried and true fried options and you'll be good! read more

So while I was in North Conway My dad was talking to me about some food places. Somehow it came up that the guy who owned this place or who owns it was from the same city that I'm from. So we decided to check it out because if anyone knows roast beef it's definitely people in Massachusetts. We ordered two Junior roast beefs and chicken wings. I will say the chicken wings are very good. The only thing I wish is that they had like sweet and sour sauce in like the packet. The roast beef was very good as well. I would definitely be back. I think it was the right amount of money and a perfect location to just go get it after getting zebs read more

Looking for a place to sit outside and enjoy the sunset and have a beverage and snack. Just the right spot. Across the street from the train station, there is a great view and people watching galore. The staff is friendly and attentive to your needs. A groom assortment of beers and a great menu. I went with the crispy tacos with checking and a Tuckerman's Pale ale. Perfect for my 7 mile hike. Tucked between two buildings, you might miss it so look for the names, and grab a table and enjoy the view. Do it soon. It's getting cold out there. read more

Aug 11 2024, bought a valley large beef an small onion ring and the sandwich meat was brown and gray and tasted like it looked. This is the sort of stuff I generally throw out when my deli meats are less than what I bought. As a "roast beef" shop/cocktails stick with selling booze because you know nothing about roast beef. We were very happy to have found this restaurant, right on the main drag of North Conway. The outdoor courtyard seating was lovely on a Sunday evening. We also felt lucky to get a table for two so quick. I would note that others, including young families, had some pretty lengthy waits for seats. I enjoyed an open faced roast beef sandwich. The toasted bread was a bit burnt but the layers of beef and gravy really covered up any lingering issues. It was very tasty. The onion rings were some of the best I've enjoyed in a long time. The onions were very fresh and thin. Our waiter did not really understand the definition of "darker beer" offering me an IPA, but he was young so maybe he just didn't understand the different styles of beer. My SO and I visited recently and were favorably impressed with everything. At first I was leery of it being a "tourist trap" but that wasn't the case at all. The prices - at least by today's standards - were quite fair, in my opinion. We were immediately seated at an outdoor table. A very pleasant and efficient waitress soon took our order. My SO ordered the Long Horn steak with fries and I chose a large roast beef with onion rings. Both arrived quickly... hot, fresh and "melt in your mouth" delicious! Being "dog people" it was nice to see that there were two large bowls of water available for their furry customers. My only suggestion... maybe invest in some real "to go" boxes? Overall, a very pleasant visit! Will definitely consider returning when in the area. read more

I tried this place for the first time and enjoyed it. I got the seafood plate with shrimp, haddock, scallops and fries. The BBQ sauce was very good and they sell by the bottle if you want to by it. I believe it's James River sauce. Service was good and very friendly. Prices were in line with New England seafood so it was fair. I would definitely go back and this is a definite recommendation. read more

We stopped here for lunch, with a party of 5. As others have said, the food was barely mediocre. The chicken wings are served fried, and unseasoned, with no sauce. You are given a small to go cup of sauce to dip them in. The $11 Margueritas were weak, made with cheap liquor, and served in a beer glass. The fish was obviously frozen, and rubbery. The onion rings tasted just like the fish. The pulled pork was more chunky than pulled, and lacked any real flavor. Our half hour lunch took an hour, because two of us spent 30 minutes in the restroom, immediately after eating. I think that this place has outlived it's useful lifetime. read more

Have eaten here several times when in No Conway. We arrived at 10:00 am, but they didn't open til 10:30, we were deciding what to do when they had us come in to sit down. they took our order and we were eating well before opening time. This is great customer service and as usual the roast beef was excellent as were the onion rings. the waitress was very friendly and very efficient. I liked the bbq sauce so much I had to buy a bottle. Will be back the next time we are in No. Conway. read more

Beef & Ski officially opened over the weekend in North Conway Village in the former Crepes Ooh La La/Mountain Dawg Cafe space. Beef & Ski is back in town and started in business back in 1976 in North Conway with other locations open in Maine. This cozy space was nicely redone has a takeout counter with overhead menu boards, indoor table seating, and a small bar area in the back of the dining room. In nicer weather, there is outside patio seating in front of the restaurant. The menu features sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and dinner plates including roast beef, turkey, chicken, longhorn steak, prime rib, French dip au jus, BBQ ribs, fried seafood (clams, shrimp, scallops, haddock), sides, salads, and small baked goods. The prices seem reasonable for the area, sandwiches $3.95-$7.95, most specialties & seafood boats (with one side) $7.95-$9.95, and seafood dinners (choice of fries, rings, or slaw and baked potato) $11.95-$19.95. After skiing at Cranmore, I decided to stop at the new Beef & Ski dinner takeout before heading home. I scanned over the menu and made a decision to order the Grand Opening Special, which was an Opened Faced Roast Beef Sandwich with Baked Potato and Salad ($8.95). I was able to substitute the baked potato for onion rings. The food was packed and ready to go in under 10 minutes, service with a smile! Though the presentation wasn't fancy and the portion was just right for a light dinner, the food I had was decent, but quite tasty overall. The opened faced roast beef sandwich was normal size, which had a good amount of moist soft pieces of tender lean medium roast beef on top of a long slice of French bread, hot gravy on the side. The handmade onion rings were crispy with sweet onions with some coating falling off, very good. The side salad on the same plate was very very small and a few bites, dressing on the side. After looking at the menu again, I will be sure to try the opened-faced prime rib sandwich on a future visit to Beef & Ski. read more

We eat here 3-4 times each vacation. You will not get 5 star service here. But, they are friendly and hard working. Do not complain about salads at Beef n Ski. They sell meat and fried stuff. It's good beef and potato skins, fries and onion rings. Even though they have ton of seafood, oil always seems fresh. No fishy fries. now I'm hungry. Need some roast beef right now! read more

My wife got a vegetarian wrap. It consisted of lettuce tomatoes and onions. Another person in our party orders a burger. She only ate half because it was too greasy. Another person got the roast beef, which is their specialty with the French a jus, and he said it was the worst he has ever had. Lastly I got the chicken filet sandwich. It was actually a chicken tender sandwich of which there were two small tenders in the sandwich. Every other bite had chicken and the other half of the bites were lettuce and tomatoes. We won't be back. Obviously. read more

So what else do you expect to find in northern New Hampshire...??? Why yes of course a seafood place that is also serving amazing roast beef...!!! WHAT! I had the classic roast beef served the perfect medium rare, AMAZE! To go with it I had a local beer and a side of onion rings. Some great onion rings at that! My pops had fish and chips (haddock) and he loves fish so the verdict was great! I was so surprised! Will I come back here? Hell yeah! With friends and we will get drunk and eat homemade ARBY's lol. We love fried seafood and generally have trouble finding a place that delivers. Not the case here. The whole-belly clams were delicious. Good sized, creamy smooth bellies. The scallops were good. Even the onion rings were good. Except for the fact that we wanted to explore other food options in the area we would have eaten here a second time. We'll definitely be back when we get back to the area. read more

Sometimes it's the little places that surprise you... During a family trip we were looking for something to feed the kids and ourselves, and we looked at the conveniently placed menu on the sidewalk... I whipped out my phone fired up yelp and I was amazed at the high rating. we were seated quickly by a very pleasant woman who put tables together for 2 adults and 3 children. drink orders were taken and it was easy to see there was a regular crowd who frequent and the friendly banter between the staff and them was fun to witnesses. But you would think that might have interfered with the service...nope.. the entire staff while being pleasant with customers and each other move and communicate with a sense of urgency to please all customers regulars and newcomers alike. The food was extremely good and edible.. I regret not getting the open face roast beef..I saw many go by and vowed the next time I go to this place I will be trying that... I ended up with a chicken parmesan that was to die for... Go here now.. read more

The waitress was a delight. That's almost all I can say good. Longhorn Steak was beyond tasteless. I mean plentiful in meat but literally 0 taste at all. They were out of their home as onion rings - not sure how that even possible but got my frozen fries so yay? We also had the shrimp boat and that wasn't too bad at all. A bit small on portion but it's shrimp so I get that. All in all I have no idea why people are saying to go here. It has location for sure. That's it folks... read more

Menu was good. Better than your average sub shop. I had Pastrami, could have used a bit more meat but it was a good lunch. I liked being able to take it outside to eat. We also ordered: Roast Beef - Only okay Nachos - she ordered beef nachos and they came just the way an 11 year old wanted, she was thrilled Potato skins - she loved them so success Nothing fancy, but for an inexpensive lunch where you can sit outside and relax a bit in North Conway this is a fantastic place. I rarely leave terrible reviews for restaurants....Food was bad. My onion rings were falling apart. My husbands French dip was cold and lousy (basically dried roast beef on a dry roll with no sauce and watery au jus). We ordered nachos and they were cold and poorly made (like someone just grabbed taco meat and some shredded cheese which was barely melted). My nieces hot dog had a HAIR on it. Very unsanitary kitchen and bathroom and my husband has worked in restaurants for years and hasn't seen anything like this. Please find somewhere better to eat on your vacation in North Conway. read more

Stopped here for a lunch as we parked in the area and was looking for a good casual place to eat. This place was perfect, and we sat in their front patio. Really enjoyed their onion rings (the waiter heavily endorsed it!) and fried clams. The other items, including ribs and roast beef were also good. So we did not have good experience on 8/5/2020. I had stepped in away after we were seated for a phone call and so the other 2 I was with ordered drinks. I came back a few minutes later waited for waitress. She finally came and took drink order. We waited a few minutes and she came back and took order. We waited 10 minutes or so and I still had no drink. So I got up and asked the hostess if he could get my drink. As I was doing that the waitress brought our food. She was pissed it seemed that I would ask for my drink. She finally brought it. At that point she had to be asked for refills. We had to ask for a box and our check. It was NOT busy so no reason for poor service and food was barely edible. Will not be going back. And there was a dog that was 2 tables away that kept barking and not very well trained. It had growled when there was another dog that was seated next to them. Why take your dog out to eat with you? One visit was enough. read more

I recently was in North Conway, wife was shopping and I take a two hour train ride. Before the ride, I went here to get a roast beef sandwich. When purchasing I firmly and specifically asked to make sure that the beef was rare. Made the purchase and headed across the street to a park bench and sat down and unwrapped my sandwich. Not only was it not rare as it should be AND as I requested, it was near well done, not a hint of red. And, this is not the first time. The same same happened about 5 weeks ago. WTF, you folks don't know what rare is ?? read more

We have mixed feelings about it. Sesame Cesar salad was fresh and tasty, but no sesame. Steakfrit was cooked well done instead of medium rare per our ask. It's slightly off the beaten path but easy to drive to and find. The service is always great. We've been fortunate enough to eat at odd times during trips so we aren't sure of how busy it gets.
