The table next to us had coffee with fresh cream our late coffee we were only offered the mini plastic cups repackaged ones. Ok still trucking. Home fries come out super bright orange looking super seasoned and literally only tasted like gardening soil. Dirty potatoes cut and mashed up with paprika and put in a cup. Literal DIRT taste. Ok now I need to wash this down I had to ask her for a refill on my toddler water. She brings me another cup out this time no ice. I don't know if I've ever gotten a drink at a restaurant given with no ice after coming out with it or not requested. I don't know if she was distracted or checked out but again I don't say anything. Then the check comes. The bill is written on paper old school style so can't understand anything and it is about $10 more than should have been. Why did she charge us for the two home fries that she said were included!?!? I don't want bad energy or ruin day going back and forth with this lady just swipe my card and get away from this place. Why is there then an added upcharge for paying with card that was never listed or told prior to swiping!?!? I don't know why this place always has a line or is so busy. I got an egg sandwich on sourdough, and it was delicious. Simple comfort food. We also enjoyed a london fog that was great. We sat in a window tabletop, and you can really appreciate how sincere the employees are and how kind they were to one another behind the line. The service was all with a smile and we also tried some chocolate treats, but they were not very sweet. All in all I would definitely go back here for food. They were just so nice. I am doing this review to help other travelers and hopefully the restaurant makes some improvements. Service: Expect to wait at least 5-10 minutes to get seated on the restaurant side. Expect more to get a server on the lounge side. Don't expect coffee refills or anyone to come over to ask how your meal is and if you want another drink. Food: Oh boy. Where do I even begin? The Caesar salad was served on a small plate making it hard to mix up the salad without it spilling all over the table. The croutons were hard as a rock, couldn't eat them as I was afraid I would crack a tooth. Asked for grilled shrimp cooked well. Barely cooked. Flatbread pizza...it was OK, but the bread was not cooked at all so really doughy and hard to handle. Naan bread can be toasted, doesn't need to be uncooked. French fries: both regular and truffle....both were served basically raw. Looked cooked on outside, but inside was literally raw potato. Insane. How can you serve pancakes not fully cooked? My partner's order had this weird taste to it, like his were cooked on a really dirty grill. there was this weird after taste. How can you ruin pancakes? Well, this place did. I over heard others at the restaurant complain about the duck salad and that their order was wrong. I saw people getting the wrong dishes as well. And people brought in coffee and tea from the free area into the dining area because they knew it would take at least 10 minutes to be waited on after being sat, so they came prepared with their own beverages. There's just not enough staff. You have one person setting up a conference room who is also being the hostess/host trying to sit people, but people end up sitting themselves since they stand there for 15 mins waiting to be seated. It's really a hot mess. The Notch Grille is not a spot I would suggest eating at. It has a great view, so my suggestion is to have a cocktail at the bar and that's it. It's really too bad because I will never stay at the Glen House Inn again purely because of how bad the restaurant is. They could have something great here, but the food is really bad. I hope this review helps fellow travelers out and that the Glen House Inn steps it up, as this restaurant is making the hotel lose business.
