I came to get two dresses tailored here for a wedding, then a bunch of jeans and a jumpsuit, and a small tear in my wedding dress. I just gotta say, this tailor is by far one of my favorites. I loved the quality of the blue dress that she tailored so much, I wish I could have just found the same dress for my wedding dress in white. Usually takes a week. The two dresses, I think to hem and take in and some other cosmetic changes on the blue dress and same for my other dress and that was like $200 or so. Depending on the work, it costs more. I brought like ten jeans for hemming and a jumpsuit to take in since the legs were weirdly baggy and that was like $200. I'm willing to pay the money rather than muck it up myself. Wonderful! Kim is such an expert with a keen eye for fit and design. I found her from Yelp reviews and I am so happy! Amazing. She took a high-end dress and altered it (lots of tweaks here and there) to perfection. I've had other alterations and sometimes it's hit or miss. I felt perfect in my dress for a gala. I originally hated my wedding dress. I have a curvier build so after ordering the best size for me at the gown shop, it still had a gap at my chest area and too tight on my hips. I couldn't see the vision until I brought it to Kim. In only two appointments she had done an amazing job in my dress, also making a beautiful custom long veil that was originally going to cost triple the price from the gown shop! I also had a silk gown was completely custom made my Kim. I showed her a photo of a Reformation dress for reference and she nailed it, even using thicker quality silk and adding a lining layer. The Reformation dress was very thin to where you can see the outline of everything underneath. If you know Ref, you know their clothes fit better on thinner women with a smaller chest. In contrast Kim's was way more luxurious and elegant - thicker, flows better, and fit well to my curves. I also requested for a bolero last minute (I'm talking just TWO days before the wedding) to have slightly more modesty and coverage for our church wedding. She luckily already had my measurements and extra lace because I couldn't pick it up or try it on until an hour before the wedding. I had a lot of alterations done, and by the end of it the dress was PERFECT to my body. She will even put in different size cups to tailor it perfectly to YOUR body. However, when I first arrived and asked how many fittings were expected, she told me "for you, just one!". Thank GOODNESS I brought my dress in way early, because I ended up going back 4 times. The thought of it getting tailored scared the crap out of me because I had a fear it would get messed up. My dress was 100% French lace and I knew there was no room for error. Kim and her team are AMAZING and they are life savers! I had my wedding dress altered somewhere else first, and it was awful. The dress had beads and the cups needed to be made smaller. The first place, didn't cut anything, and instead just rolled the dress and tacked it down. It was lumpy, and poorly altered because they didn't take the time or know the proper way to do it correctly . I almost ended up getting a new dress with 2 weeks to go before my wedding. That's when we were told to go see Kim at Champions Tailor! She completely knew what to do. She undid all of the rolled fabric and beading that the first place did, and started from scratch. She explained everything she was doing, and would do to fix the dress. Her confidence makes you feel calm and helps you know you're in good hands! Kim alters like a pro.
