I'm not the person who writes reviews very often. However, this is a case of "buyer beware" and should be a warning to anyone needing alterations. I will NEVER use these people again. I took three of my new linen shirts to:

as to have the hem raised 2.5" from the bottom. I asked that the bottom of the shirts "keep the exactly same shape (contour) that is currently on them" and the woman who works there said "yes I can do it." I even put on one of the shirts to "double check the spot" where the shirts would fall after taking them up the 2.5" and it seemed like a good place. I prepaid over $64 and was told they'd be ready in a week. I went in to pick them up today (5/27/21), gave the ticket to the man behind the counter, and he walked to the back. As he came out holding my shirts, I knew something was wrong the minute I saw them. I said "Wow, those look really short!" He said "No, that's where we marked them." I said no it's not, I only want 2.5" taken off the hem. The lady walked out from the back room and said "No, they okay. They perfect!" I put one of them on and the front of the shirt was above my belt line. Again, I said "no they're not because the front is MUCH shorter than the back." She said "That how they suppose the look...shorter in front." I said "No! I ONLY wanted 2.5" taken from the hem! That means 2.5" in the back and should ALSO be 2.5" in the front!" She said "You too picky." I asked her "what can you do to fix them?" She said "They don't need fixed. They perfect." The guy behind the counter said "Maybe we can fix them...maybe we can let them out." I held up the hem and asked "How can you let it out? That's impossible . How can you add material to make it even in the front?" He then said "Yeah, you're right." I told them they just "ruined $300 worth of shirts...and I paid you to do it!" I asked the lady if they were going to replace what she has ruined and she told me "No, shirts perfect and we're not replace them." I asked "are you going to refund my money?" and again she said "No!" At that point I knew there's no use in arguing further and picked up the shirts to go. As I was leaving their shop, she started laughing and heard the woman say "You stupid...go to Macy's and get more!" Without wanting any more confrontation I simply kept walking to my vehicle and left. I mean, what could I do? I know they weren't going to give me a refund or replace my three new shirts, so what's the use? As a small business owner myself, I'm all for helping another small business and is why I didn't take them to an area dry cleaners to have them altered. Valdez Tailors Alterations (in Oak Ridge off Rayford and I-45) are NOT good at what they do and DO NOT stand behind their work. They ruined my shirts and actually blamed me for somehow messing them up. I know times are tough after Covid and all, but Valdez Tailors Alterations (close to the Woodlands) are no better than common thieves because they took money KNOWING they did not do what I paid them to do and ruined my property in the process. I've already paid them, they refused to replace my shirts or refund my money so what else could I do? Writing this review is the only recourse I have and I have posted pictures showing how terrible their work is. I'm also contacting the Better Business Bureau and filing a complaint against this business. BUYER BEWARE. Valdez Tailors Alterations should not be in business. WARNING; If you take any items to them for alteration, you are risking having your items ruined. I am proof that they won't care nor replace any of the items when they ruin them. I hope my pictures and review save a few people the headache of having to deal with such bad business owners. Just know that they WILL NOT make it right when they mess up your garments. I sincerely hope this review helps others to think twice before going here and it costs them future business because it's no way to treat a customer. Instead, they will keep your money and will not replace what they ruin. People who run their business like Valdez Tailors Alterations have no honor, nor take any pride in their work. If they did I wouldn't be writing this review of how badly the service they offer is. They simply do not care and it's a shame anyone would operate in such a way...shame on you Valdez Tailors Alterations.
*Picture 4 is an example of how the shirts should look. The first picture is the length before and why I wanted 2.5" off to equal 27". There's a 3" difference between the front and back.* read more
