Service was good, pizza was the best we had in the city, and the place was cozy. It's a little hole in the wall, but an overall famous pizza spot

The hotel we were staying at pretty much didn't have anything open late in the area and we were starving so we found Champion Pizza on uber eats and I'm so GLAD we did. The pizza oh my goodness as soon as I opened the box I should've known it was going to be delightful. The crust was made to perfection, the cheese and toppings you can tell were made fresh and I just can't understand how this was the best pizza I've had in NY and I've tried tons of pizza. And the fact we had ordered delivery and it came fast and was still at a great temperature. The service was great our food was delivered on bike. I'm salivating thinking about it right now, I would for SURE get this pizza again.

Champion Pizza is one of the best pizza places in NY. I ordered around 12:00 a.m. and had my pizza by 12:30 I ordered through uber eats. The service was fast. I got a 14 small round pizza pepperoni and mushroom with two cans of soda. This was more like a medium. The crust was crunch even the darker slice, the pepperoni wasn't your ordinary pepperoni I'm used to in RI the mushroom were fresh. The slices big as NYC is known for. I would definitely order from this place again. I wished I would had ordered another to bring back to RI with me. The price was reasonable. I have tried a famously known pizza many times and in my opinion this pizza is better

Huge selection of pizza here. Nice & clean with comfy seating. I especially like their mushroom truffle slice. Give them a shot. The owner is pretty influential in the pizza scene. Great service as well.

The hours are wrong on the Yelp app, they were opened today. They have this great special $5 for two slices and a soda. I had a white slice with a Mexican coke. I was really happy that I did not get sick from their pizza. The vibes in this spot are so friendly. I appreciated the customer service. There were so many different types of slices. I wanted to try the Mac and cheese slice, I saw it last time I was here. I'd definitely recommend this place instead of going to Star Pizza on steinway. The food was really fresh. I like that they have different types of soda here without high corn syrup. It was cool they let you get the bigger drink with the special. They do have garlic knots and some rolls and such. Thankfully, it wasn't too hot because there was no AC.

Super thin burnt pizza, no taste. Maybe it was left over from the morning. The pizza had a sweet weird taste.

If you are thinking of pizza and looking for an authentic experience, you have to try this place out. It might not look like a fancy restaurant and there are plenty of options around, but this place checks all the boxes when it comes to food, taste, service and location. When you enter the restaurant, you are greeted by a wall of celebrities, awards and newspaper articles. The menu is small, and the shelf displays the pizzas they serve. My favorites are Chipotle Chicken, Margarita, and BBQ Chicken in that order. 5/5 for the food and the category of restaurants this lies in!

Updated review. I come here for the garlic knots because they are literally the best I've ever eaten. But this is the second time i go pick up a Togo order only to find when i get home that they've given me hard as rock garlic knots. Not the soft chewy product i drive out of my way for. They have a good product but inconsistency is a big no no. What's the point of a go to place if there isn't consistency in the product? What's worse when i was picking up my order a brand new batch had just come out the oven and looked golden tan and soft. Nothing like what i was given. Note: check your order before you leave.

MILKFLOWER: I CAME FOR PIZZA... THEN HAD TO COME BACK FOR MORE…read more Saturday night in Astoria, I pulled up to Milkflower thinking I was just grabbing dinner. Rookie mistake. This place had other plans. Started with the wood-roasted octopus -- russet potatoes, shallots, Kalamata olives & dill. Packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. Then came the roasted meatballs with tomato sauce, garlic bread, Parmesan & basil. Classic comfort food, but that wood-fired flavor gave it a serious upgrade. Then came the Local 82 -- tomato, sausage, speck, spicy soppressata, garlic & jalapeño. Bold, spicy, smoky... basically everything I want on a pizza. And the staff? Fantastic. They actually took the time to explain every dish, which made the whole experience even better. Now here's where things got ridiculous... I came back THE NEXT DAY. Why? Because Saturday night, I watched everybody around me ordering the Stun Dunn and talking about how incredible it was. So naturally, I had to investigate. ‍ Caramelized onion, Gruyère, scallion, red onion & mozzarella. They weren't exaggerating. OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD. Smart conclusion: When an entire room of strangers recommends the same pizza, you can either trust the crowd... or be stubborn and miss out. I chose the responsible adult decision: I came back the next day and ordered it. Milkflower didn't just earn a spot on my Astoria food list -- it earned a return visit in less than 24 hours. That's not dinner. That's evidence. #Milkflower #AstoriaQueens #AstoriaEats #QueensFoodie #NYCFoodie #PizzaLovers #NeapolitanPizza #WoodFiredPizza #NYCPizza #FoodieInTheBigApple #QueensEats #NYCFood

While deciding where to go one day, this was suggested and im so glad I went. The restaurant is cozy with tables inside the main dining room and in an enclosed outdoor seating area. Im guessing it opens in the summer. I sat down with my niece while waiting for my sister and for a good 5-7 minutes, no one stopped by and gave a menu nor offered water. Finally after about 3 people walked by not saying anything, someone came. The area is not that big and 7 minutes isnt that long but to sit there any not be addressed by all the staff walking by was annoying. Finally my sister came and we were offered water and a menu. After hearing about the specials and asking for recommendations, we settled on the gnocchi (housemade potato gnocchi, burrata, peas, pesto sauce, toasted pine nuts), Pappardelle alla Bolognese (housemade ribbon pasta, meat sauce), and side of sautéed spinach. The food arrived and we were pleasantly delightful by the main. The gnocchi was so soft and creamy, the sauce was delicious. Im not a fan of gnocchi but this was so good. The papardelle was my meal and it was also so good. There was a lot of pasta and a good amount of meat sauce. It was also delicious. The spinach on the other hand was bland. It has no flavor and we had to add some salt. A few times we tried to call someone over to our table but felt like no one was paying attention. When we were done with our meals, my sister had a few pieces of gnocchi left. She asked for a box as it was to be my nieces lunch for tomorrow. I then said, can you also box up the spinach. A few minutes later, the server dropped off a bag with one container and said here's the spinach. We tried to call his attention but he was already walking away. Where was the gnocchi. Finally when we came back, we asked about it and he said oh I thought it was garbage. I said no we asked for it to be boxed. He said let me talk to the kitchen. He came back and said sorry, they cant do anything but one dessert will be on me. I guess thats fine but we more wanted the food for the baby. For dessert we ordered a tiramisu and pistachio gelato. The tiramisu was in a jar as opposed to a cake slice. One bite of the ice cream and I knew it was bad. It was grainy and sandy texture. I looked up why that would be and one reason stated it could be improper storage, like it was unfrozen or melted then refrozen. I wasn't chancing that. I told the server and said I couldn't eat it. He offered another dessert but I said know, then offered a limoncello shot. While I appreciate the offer, we weren't drinking before so that wasn't the best option to offer. I just said im fine without a replacement. When we got the bill, the dessert was taken off like he said he would. We paid and left. Overall the main course/pasta meals were delicious. The sides and desserts could use work. Service was alright. Id definitely come back for the food and to try some of the pizza.

The red sauce is more tangy than sweet, which I appreciate. The pasta is good, and the free bread is top notch. The prices are fair given the large portion size. The service is prompt, and the waiter will make recommendations if asked. And the ambiance is unique and interesting (see the first paragraph). Our server was very attentive, friendly, and on top of everything throughout the meal. No complaints there at all. As for the food, it was honestly very lackluster. The best thing we had all night was the small original pizza, which I actually really enjoyed. The crust and flavor on that were solid. Unfortunately, the spaghetti with marinara sauce was a huge disappointment. At $22 just for the pasta, plus an additional $4 for ONE meatball, I expected so much more. It ended up being a $26 plate of pasta that, in my opinion, had almost no flavor. I kept wanting seasoning, salt, garlic -- something to make it stand out. It was just very bland. My husband ordered the polenta starter with shiitake mushrooms and bolognese sauce, which was okay, but nothing memorable. For the three food items, one cappuccino, and a sparkling water, the bill came to about $110 with tip. For that price point, I expected to leave impressed, especially after hearing the hype. Sadly, this just wasn't a place I'd personally return to. I truly wanted to enjoy it more.
