Thos is a solid local fast food pizza chain. Definitely better than all the other quick fast food pizza on the area. Decent proces and pizza for what you get. Service is usually always quick and ready when it says ot will ne. The overall vibe when entering is basically just a grab and go no tables or anything like that. This is one of our go too when we don't want anything fancy but want quality quick pizza.

This is one of the few pizza places I've found that have the little cupping pepperonis. We always order from here and have tried 3 different pizzas but my go-to is always the thin crust triple pepperoni pizza, but it's very greasy. It has 3 different kinds of pepperonis on it. It's my absolute fave. A little spendy for their pizza, but sometimes they have deals where it's a few dollars off. The service has always been good and quick. The young boys working have always been friendly when we come in to pick up. This is pickup/delivery only, there is no area to dine-in. I have always ordered my pizza online on their website and noticed that I wasn't able to order thin crust from the Vancouver location? Not sure why. So I always order from the 162nd location. They also do have a rewards program where you earn points for every $1 you spend, it's free to sign up.

This pizza is awful. My elementary school pizza tasted better than this. Also giving a pickup time frame between 20-40 minutes but not getting a text or email about it? Our pizza looks way more gross than most of the pics here. Dry. Overcooked. Tastes like the bottom of an oven. But maybe it was just ours. We tried it because we got a coupon in our mailbox but definitely won't be going back.

Looks better than it tasted. C- grade. Nice employees.

Disappointed in the taste. Bland sauce and very little of it. Tasteless pepperoni and sausage had a little flavor but not much. Tried to compare to Blind Onion but Bind Onion wins on overall taste. Their dough is much better and their ingredients seem to be higher quality. Can say we tried. Give it a "C-"grade. Nice employee who answers the phone.

So, it's the timeless question... "Where's the best pizza place in town"?! In Vancouver, WA there are actually a few spots that fit the bill depending on what you're looking for. I can say for an all 'round good pizza Champ pizza is a solid bet. If you're looking for a traditional Italian style thin crust this may not be my go to, but their hand tossed dough is excellent. It's light, fluffy, and good overall flavor. Their toppings are numerous, but I'd recommend a couple of their specialties. Their BBQ chicken pizza is awesome and so is their buffalo chicken pizza (assuming you like buffalo wing sauce). My daughters are also fans of their traditional cheese and pepperoni pizza. The cauliflower crust (which I think is pretty unique to this establishment) is worth a try. Certainly a gem and worth trying if you're in the area!

What's left...not much! It was SOOOO GOOD!

Ordered delivery tonight. First time trying Champ and we were NOT disappointed! We got the Meat Lover's and 1/2 Garlic Chicken and 1/2 Champ Combo. First off, our pizzas were here in no time! Our delivery driver was friendly and courteous. The pizzas themselves were fresh and hot! They were so delicious! Oh my goodness, we were so impressed! The crust (hand-tossed) was perfect! All the toppings and sauce l, incredible! Exactly what we would want in the perfect pizza! Definitely will be ordering again! We have found our Go-to pizza now!

Wanted pizza to watch the Thorns and Seahawks games. Hubby has eaten here before, but it was first time for me. I was very hesitant to try something new as I'm a creature of habit and honestly, my husband likes bland, lukewarm food, so I'm not always excited about his choices. After reading over 50 Yelp reviews, I caved in to his craving. I noticed that if you download their app and order using it, you get free Garlic Parmesan Bites. Signing up to use the app was frustrating. Could be user error, but it took me 3 attempts to get my information entered. Once I was officially signed-up, the app was very user friendly. Once you decide on the type of pizza you want, you have the ability to select thin or hand-tossed crust, remove toppings, add toppings, add extra toppings, select dipping sauces and select amount of sauce. I was a bit surprised at a charge of $1.75 if you select more than just extra toppings (you can select light, normal, extra, 3x or 4x) especially since I had removed green peppers and olives- kinda felt like that should've evened it out. I changed my selection to just extra to avoid the fee. It said it would be 45 minutes for delivery, but it got here in under 30. We ordered the FREE Garlic Parmesan Bites, a Medium Hand Tossed Champ Combo with no black olives, no green pepper with extra mushrooms and red onions and a Medium Hand Tossed Veggie with no black olives, no green peppers, light spinach, add roasted garlic and extra mushrooms. Aesthetically, it all looked very, very good. It wasn't as hot as I'd like, but was perfect for my husband. I thought the Garlic Parmesan Bites were just "ok". Pretty bland. I did not detect any garlic. Hubby said they were "good". He also didn't taste any garlic and thought more Parmesan would've made them "great". Hubby had the Champ Combo. He thought the hand-tossed crust was good, but a bit too soft. He would've preferred it to be a bit more crunchy and less chewy. Perfect amount of sauce. The toppings were excellent with the meats being the stand-out. I had the Veggie with hand-tossed crust. Definitely too soft for me as well. I think adding an option to select a desired cook time (like well-done) would take the pizza from "very good" to "off the charts excellent". There is an option to add special instructions that I should have used to indicate my preference. The taste was phenomenal, with the huge, sliced mushrooms and roasted garlic as the stars. Obviously made with fresh ingredients. Perfect amount of sauce. Probably my new favorite veggie pizza in Vancouver. Concern- the ranch dipping sauce was in the box with my veggie pizza. The lid was not on and had any of the ranch gotten onto the pizza, and I hadn't noticed, it would've been a huge medical crisis for me because I have SEVERE food allergies. My suggestion would be to put the dipping sauces in a separate bag or container where it can't cross contaminate. There was no place to add a tip using the app, so I completely forgot. When I realized my error, I called the restaurant right away and they were able to add on a tip. Overall, it was a great, nearly excellent experience and I always like supporting local/small businesses. We'll definitely be ordering again!

I love that you can get traditional pizza toppings or creative combinations. The flavor of the pizza is amazing and I have heard that the gluten free crust is considered better than the regular by some people. This location gets busy, so if you can swing an early dinner or a meal at a slightly off time, your wait to sit will be shorter. We came in a bit before 5 when the patio seating was open and got to sit right away. When they are busy, you might wait a bit for food, but the servers are friendly and super knowledgeable about the menu items. We ordered the "something marvelous" (bbq chicken) and a pepperoni pizza (because kids) for our pizza. We also got the beets and burrata salad to start. This was more than enough food and we always take leftovers home. The weather was nice on the patio and you can see the waterfront and river from your seats. We've been here before. We will be back. I hope the Cuban style pizza makes it back on the menu...pizza with pulled pork and pickles? Yes!

This was a beautiful day on the…read morewaterfront and there was no wait at 7PM on a Friday night, which we found surprising given how almost every restaurant on the street seemed to be full. We were told it would be a 20 to 25 minute wait for our pizza (I had to ask - the server didn't volunteer this information). It actually took 30. Dini Broccolini ($16) - We ordered this as an app. The dish includes a thick romesco sauce spread along the bottom of the plate. It's served cold and it's quite nutty (walnuts?) and peppery with a strong tangy umami. It's chunky with lots of small pieces blended in. On top of the romesco are three slices of crostini that are much thicker than average. They are completely dried out and crunchy like croutons. They salt the bread a ton; it's salty enough that my mouth felt like it was burning. The only warm thing on the dish is the broccolini, which is baked rather than charred. The texture is great and the seasoning level is perfect. On top of the veggies, they sprinkle pecorino and and breadcrumbs, for additional saltiness, umami, and a bit of crunch. (4/5) Now onto the pizza. Taken from another of my reviews: there are several characteristics that define Detroit-style. Firstly, the base must be a thinner and chewier focaccia dough-like crust, pillowy on the interior and with a crispness on the bottom and sides that are somewhat greasy but not overladen*. There must be flavorful Wisconsin brick cheese (or blend), buttery and fatty, melted on top and spread until it spills over the sides of the crust, creating a crisp caramelized frico ring surrounding the pie. The pepperoni must be underneath the cheese**, and the flavorful tomato sauce, typically in several wide lines, is spread atop the cheese. There must not be too many toppings to prevent the crust from compressing and ruining the texture. *Note 1: The fat/grease is very important, both to allow the crust to crisp up and to act as a hydrophobic layer to prevent sogginess. **Note 2: This is the one trait I dislike since it makes the pepperoni limp and soaked with grease. Dial 'P' for Pepperoni ($26) - As always, I start with the base pepperoni pizza, the most classical Detroit-style pizza. The pizzas here are standard 4-square size (8in x 10in), cut into 6 pieces. Pricing is pretty expensive for this size - I'm used to 8-square (10in x 14in) pricing being around this much. Starting with the base crust - it's pretty good. It's crisp but not overly greasy, thinner and a little collapsed in the area with toppings, but still light and airy without being dense. It's super bubbly from frying in high heat and the crumb, especially towards the sides, looks great. It has a tasty buttery fried flavor. The cheese frico on the sides is underwhelming. While crisp, it's a little collapsed and flattened rather than having lacy, thin, uneven tops as with a great Detroit-style pizza. The bake on the pizza is also uneven, with one side much darker than the other. The darker side unfortunately burns the frico, which gives an unpleasant acridity on one end. On top, they add an appropriate amount of mild mozzarella. It's enough to give a slightly cheesy stretch, but isn't enough to feel overly heavy or rich. They then place pepperoni on top, which cups and crisps up. Again, they don't overload the pizza, so while salty, it's not overwhelmingly so like several other Detroit-style pizzas I've eaten recently. This all makes a pizza that give a really balanced bite. Unfortunately the sauce here is a miss. It's ridiculously tangy and acidic to start with somewhat of a metallic kind of flavor. It then descends into a really heavy overly concentrated flavor of dried Italian herbs. It's incredibly overwhelming, like they wanted to completely cover up the taste of bad quality canned tomatoes* but failed. The dried herbs are followed up with a slight heat that warms the mouth, probably from red pepper flakes mixed in. On each slice of pizza, they place a giant spoonful of sauce, which is unfortunate given that I didn't enjoy the sauce. I think they should revisit their tomato sauce recipe. It's one of the worst Ive had in a while. Luckily, it's not a huge part of the pizza. (3.5/5) Overall the pizzas have some major weaknesses. My review reads very critical, but I think the pizzas are still quite tasty and will satisfy most people. Still, I personally wouldn't return given the better options for Detroit-style pizza across the river. *Note: They use Valoroso canned tomatoes from Stanislaus, which is a company many places in Detroit also use. I doubt the quality of the tomatoes are actually bad. Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms

It was my favorite pizza! And even an emotional, yes emotional connection to this pizza. If you've ever had it, you'd know just how incredible this pizza is. Welp, fast forward 40 years. I've lived all over. Settled in Camas, WA. Never finding a pizza that is even close to HomePlace.... Well SOB!! I found it at Barrel Mountain! I took a bite... All my childhood memories rushing back. The crust, the flavor, the crispness and fluffiness in the crust. A tear is shed as I look across the table to my wife as she asks... well, similar to HomePlace (for the 109th time). OMG.. it's the same babe! Ahhhh! just overjoyed! The server (Desere) comes around... how y'all doing? I shed another tear and ask... have you ever been to Silverton, OR? Yes! she replies. I ask - you ever been to HomePlace Pizza? She responds, yes!! and did you know that Don who is the owner of HomePlace taught us EXACTLY how to make that pizza here?!? We both agreed this is the last time we'll come here. We came in and were greeted and immediately seated by the host. He was friendly and welcoming. They weren't super busy, but busy enough for a Saturday lunch crowd. It took him awhile to get our drink order, so when he finally came to take it, we went ahead and ordered our food as well. We decided on the bacon cheeseburger with chips, and the reuben with fries ($3.50 extra for fries). I've never understood the extra cost for fries vs homemade potato chips?! The chips have been hit or miss in the past, so we usually order fries for one entree just in case. Our food took about 45 minutes. Seemed way too long. Our server never came back and asked for refills on beverages during our visit either, which was disappointing. My burger looked good, but super greasy, even the bun was greasy on top. Maybe it was brushed with butter?! The burger dripped with grease while eating it. The chips were saturated in grease as well. Some of them so much they weren't crispy at all. Our server was nowhere to be found or I would have complained. They were left on the plate. My husband didn't like them either. He ended up sharing his fries with me. My husband liked his reuben, but the bread was burnt on the bottom. You couldn't tell at first look, only once it was picked up to eat. It had plenty of meat, cheese, peppers and onions. He enjoyed it overall. The fries were good too. Much better than the chips. The restaurant was clean when we walked in, but during our visit many tables were left dirty for far too long. Not sure if they were in the middle of a shift change, but it seemed like no one was around to clear plates or refill beverages. Someone from the kitchen eventually came out to get us our bill. Our plates were still on the table when we left. Overall a disappointing experience. There are far too many restaurant options in this area to spend $65 on lunch for mediocre, at best, food and service. We will not be returning.
