I recently visited NYC Pizzeria for the first time last week after seeing great reviews. I came in right after they opened and ordered 2 slices of pizza and a Gyro. The pizza was fabulous and would highly recommend. The Gyro was disappointing. Both the meat and the Pita were not fresh. The meat was dry and chewy and lacked flavor. Tasted like the meat was not freshly prepared and was left over from the previous day and just reheated. The Pita was not soft and appeared to be microwaved. It had hard edges all around. I didn't eat the pita, just the meat and the filling because the pita was not fresh. Next time I won't come in right at opening so they have time to prepare fresh meat and fresh pita. Easy lunch spot to get pizza at. The service is at the counter. I ended up getting two slices and really enjoyed it. It is a thin crust pizza like they do in NY. The price was great too. My one complaint was that they didn't seem to run the AC? We visited towards the end of summer and it was quite warm inside. read more

I am not a NY pizza connoisseur, but my understanding is that it is a thin crust, foldable pizza with less char and crispness than a Napoli style pizza. In that regard, it IS a NY style pizza. We got a medium NY pizza and a Greek salad and it was good. Not too pricey and the service is good. I am going to try one of their Indian pizzas next time. read more

This is where you go for real NY Pizza. I've been coming here for many years. Lived half my life in the NYC metro and worked in Manhattan before I came west. Not artisinal, not a brewpub that does pizza. It's just like the pizza joints I grew up with. Pizza made by a guy who knows pizza inside and out. My favorite: The classic white pizza. Really good pizza doesn't need to be loaded with toppings. (it can be sometimes :)). OK, I add spinach to the classic white, got one today, but that's how I've always had it - since the early 70s in a Jersey strip mall. Had this catered at a work event. This was the first time I had an Indian Pizza. It was delicious. I think one of the pizzas was chickpea and jalapenos. Ultimately, it was vegetarian, but with the amount of flavor, this was not an issue at all. I plan to check this out on my own time to try some of the different flavors. read more

Their pizza is really wonderful. Excellent crisp crust. Perfect amount of flavorful toppings. Pizza tastes so fresh with the cilantro they use! My only critique is the ambiance, lighting and maybe having a cleaner bathroom. If they remodeled the place we would be there on a weekly basis. We really prefer a bit of darker, quieter scene. Dough The dough texture is disappointing in addition to its flavor, It was a crispy cracker crust with almost no flavor. The crust's redeeming qualities was a good crispness. Sauce The sweetness of the sauce wasn't the only issue, it also lacked depth or seasoning, and tasted like a jar of pre-bought sauce. I Couldn't detect any herbs, spices, or tomato flavor at all,  one-dimensional. The sauce was evenly spread, however. CheeseLike plastic,Flavorless and goopy, tasted like ski-lodge cheese. Overall Presentation The pizza looked like something you would get at a ski-lodge or buffet. The food is really, really good. The service is warm and friendly. The smell just walking in is so good. I highly recommend trying the homemade bread. This is such a hidden gem, in that I've been here in Vancouver, WA and this is my first time here. The owner lived in New York for 16 years and he knows his stuff. I can wholeheartedly recommend N. I have ordered take out from here twice. The first time was pretty good so I went back. The second time the pizza was not nearly as good. It was stale and tasted old. My wife noticed she could easily lift the toppings we ordered (pepperoni and pinapple) off of the pizza without disturbing the bottom layers. It was clear they took an old cheese pizza which didnt sell and just added the toppings we wanted.
