7" Personal Pizza
Tom M.

Well, I recently made a return trip to Leonardo's after quite a while. The good news? The pizza here is absolutely fantastic! One of my favorites in the Vancouver area. Unfortunately, the service leaves much to be desired, and the price point feels like it's astronomically climbing for what you actually receive--the value equation just doesn't quite meet. The Pepperoncini Problem I ordered my usual, the Leonardo supreme. Since they historically offer a very small amount of pepperoncinis, I made sure to order an extra topping of them. I'm not exaggerating when I say that for the price of an extra topping, I received what looked like a grand total of eight slices. When they initially presented the pizza, there were literally only four on top, so I politely pointed it out and asked, "Hey, I really want this to look like a full topping since I'm paying extra for more. Can you please add more?" The employee left, came back, and then stated, "Look, if I give you any more, I have to charge you." I simply said "okay" and left. I thought maybe I was being unreasonable, but my wife, whom I showed later, completely agreed with me. Experiences like this are unfortunately why we don't go back more often. The staff seems generally inexperienced and appears to lack the support needed to effectively deal with crowds and customer service issues. While they appear very young, it gives the impression that they simply don't care. The restaurant is constantly busy, and the atmosphere is vibrant--it seems there's always some type of event happening. This high volume is likely why you'll see a mix of negative reviews; there hasn't been much change because the money is consistently coming in. Honestly, this could be a mind-blowingly amazing place if management would just step up their game regarding service. They need to invest in their people, providing the support required to handle questions and crowds with professionalism. If they aren't going to lower the prices, they absolutely need to look at providing the value that warrants such a high premium. With the quality of the pizza alone, this should have been an easy 5-star review. But with everything else involved, I regretfully have to land on 2 stars.

Fresh mushrooms, Kalamata olives and artichoke hearts

Another successful pizza lunch date with my parents was had here today. I must say, it's really quite spacious and would be great for groups and much to our delight they had about 6 or so booths all along the windows. There was a 12 top seated in the middle of the room and the noise level was quite high until they finally left. Service was friendly and with a smile. You order at the register in the back. They give you napkins, plates, utensils and your number to put on your table so they can bring your pizza to your table. We ordered a large, fresh mushrooms, Kalamata olives, my parents had their portion with the pepperoni on last so it gets crispy. I didn't get pepperoni on my portion, instead I got artichoke hearts. And the sauce was so tomatoey and tangy. Damn! This was my first visit. I'm really vibing on this place because the sauce is divine, I can actually get Kalama olives and artichoke hearts on my pizza! So rare. The one thing that didn't hold up for me was the crust. It was too soft. Next time I'd like to see it a tad crispy then we'll be in the perfection business, baby. 2024 - Review # 26

Goegonzola-Pear Salad

Overall a returnable experience. The young man at the till was pretty dry not to engaging. Started with Gorgonzola-Pear salad it was fresh, crisp and had a great balance of lettuce to toppings. Got the Combo Grande Pizza and it was loaded with toppings and the crust had great flavor and it held up to all those toppings. I believe the prices are fair for what you get. We shall return....saw a Taco pie come out and want to try that next.

This is the second time ordering from this shop. The first pizza was pretty good. This time, not so much. The Pizza wasn't greasy or cooked incorrectly, but simply the design was odd. For a traditional "Supreme" I would have counted on more vegetables. The large chunks of sausage got real old, real quick. One would figure that customers would prefer the proteins to be spread out evenly in order to enjoy the combined flavors. Eating a huge chunk of sausage was nice for the first one, and after that we simply pushed them off to the side of the carton. 3-Stars is for the well cooked thin crust, the basic ingredients, and the fact that it was an oddball "Supreme" in one carton. If this is a gimmick, rethink that.

Went there for a family pizza meet up- while visiting from out of town. It was a nice easy location to get to, lots of parking. Inside lots of seating available for groups large & small. We ordered our pizza and the kids enjoyed watching them flip the pizza dough in the air! Our pizza was enjoyed by all and we had a great time!!

This was the absolute best pizza I've had in a very long time. The sausage, the pepperoni was amazingly delicious. Thank you Leonardo's!!

Wtf this was in my salad

I went in to get a salad. The salad bar I paid for was $10. Not bad but then the salad was wilted. I wasn't going to complain so I got my salad. I put one huge of lettuce in my container. Put other stuff on top. Came home to eat it and this is what I found. So disgusting

Best pizza!

We started going to Leonardo's when they first opened. Our son had a field trip there way back in kindergarten. Their pizza has always been top quality. The ingredients, dough, crispness, amount of toppings, just everything has been perfect. We moved from the area 5 years ago and have been seeing FB posts from customers of Leonardo's. They've been so cruel posting pictures too! Lol. The craving has been strong and real. Husband asked what I wanted for dinner, so we made the 40 minute drive. Leonardo's did not disappoint! Pizza was absolutely delicious! Could not have asked for anything different. The staff was kind, courteous. I'm having the craving now!

Pizza was good. Juliano's IMO is better because of the sausage. High price for a two topping pizza was $40+.

Ask the Community - Leonardo's Pizzeria

Where was the first location?

In 1993, Leonardo's was at the corner of 117th and 76th for a couple of years in a small space that we quickly outgrew, then we moved to our current location at 164th and SE 1st Street. We had a few additional satellite locations along the way… Read more

If you're on a date, i think sitting at the bar is fun. You can get a drink and drool and commentate on the pizzas coming out (and hope it's yours). We got the mushroom and sausage with red sauce and then the pistachio clam pasta. Oh my goodness! That pizza! Light as air crust. Not overly loaded with stuff but enough to be yummy. I could prob eat a whole pizza solo. And that pasta! It's so different than the light pizza. Decadent and unctuous with fresh but de-shelled manilla clams, the pasta was mind-blowing. We can't wait to come back to try more options. Ps: happy anniversary!

They have a combination of two and four top tables in the dining area. They offer a nice variety of pizza, salad and dessert options. Pricing is comparable to other wood fire Italian pizza restaurants in the area. We ordered the Margherita and Honey Formaggi. Both were excellent. The pizza crust was so pillowy on the inside and had a nice crisp on the outside. Toppings tasted fresh and high quality. We also ordered the Burrata Scapece to try while we waited for our pizzas. It was fresh and delicious. A wonderful combination of cheese, arugula tomatoes and zucchini. We only wished it came with more crostini. For dessert we tried the Torta Caprese and Cannolo. Both were delicious. The torta tasted like it had amaretto in it, so yummy! The cannolo was so creamy and had a perfect combination of sweet. We loved the chopped pistachios and mini chocolate chips on the ends. My husband enjoyed the candied ginger as well. Overall we were very happy with our first visit here. Everyone was warm and welcoming...just the way a restaurant should be. We will definitely return to try their other offerings. Would highly recommend.

We both agreed this is the last time we'll come here. We came in and were greeted and immediately seated by the host. He was friendly and welcoming. They weren't super busy, but busy enough for a Saturday lunch crowd. It took him awhile to get our drink order, so when he finally came to take it, we went ahead and ordered our food as well. We decided on the bacon cheeseburger with chips, and the reuben with fries ($3.50 extra for fries). I've never understood the extra cost for fries vs homemade potato chips?! The chips have been hit or miss in the past, so we usually order fries for one entree just in case. Our food took about 45 minutes. Seemed way too long. Our server never came back and asked for refills on beverages during our visit either, which was disappointing. My burger looked good, but super greasy, even the bun was greasy on top. Maybe it was brushed with butter?! The burger dripped with grease while eating it. The chips were saturated in grease as well. Some of them so much they weren't crispy at all. Our server was nowhere to be found or I would have complained. They were left on the plate. My husband didn't like them either. He ended up sharing his fries with me. My husband liked his reuben, but the bread was burnt on the bottom. You couldn't tell at first look, only once it was picked up to eat. It had plenty of meat, cheese, peppers and onions. He enjoyed it overall. The fries were good too. Much better than the chips. The restaurant was clean when we walked in, but during our visit many tables were left dirty for far too long. Not sure if they were in the middle of a shift change, but it seemed like no one was around to clear plates or refill beverages. Someone from the kitchen eventually came out to get us our bill. Our plates were still on the table when we left. Overall a disappointing experience. There are far too many restaurant options in this area to spend $65 on lunch for mediocre, at best, food and service. We will not be returning.

In addition to pizzas, sandwiches and appetizers, they've added a Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese, spinach artichoke dip and ice cream floats. They have a nice variety of beers and ciders. Their food prices have gone up, and some items seem a little steep now, but that seems to be happening everywhere nowadays.
