This place id one of the few sit down restaurants in torrey that is open for dinner. We had. 45 min wait for our food. The place appears clean snd the food wasn't bad. We'd come back! read more

Excellent familty-run spot with a fine view of the Red Cliffs. Margs are awesome, as is the queso and fresh made salsa, we went back the next night we enjoyed it so much. Entrees came out quickly, friendly service. There's not one thing to not LOVE about this place. Fairly priced. I live in tacos-aplenty San Diego, and I wish this place was closer. Enjoy. read more

Great little place with a nice presentation! We had the tostada with carne asada and 3 kinds of enchiladas with green sauce: barbacoa, chicken, and shredded beef. All were delicious! The side salad had diced avocado, tomatoes, shredded lettuce and cheese. The service was friendly and quick. Highly recommend for anyone passing through Torrey! read more

We are camping right next door to this restaurant, saw it and then checked out the reviews on Yelp. So many good reviews we had to try it out. And it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely amazing. We started with the Cheese Dip which was huge and very tasty. I had the enchilada's with pork in green Chile sauce which again was amazing. So tasty. My wife had the Chile relleno which she said was really good. We finished with the flaun. Get one. So delicious, done just right. I would definitely eat here again if we're ever in the area again. read more

Had asada quesadilla. It was good. Service good as well. Good beer selection. Salsa yuck.

We were there on a Wednesday night, and they were packed. I had the best fish taco of my life, and my husband had the shredded beef taco. The salsa was also excellent. When we return to Torrey, we will absolutely eat there again. read more

We did not expect to find awesome food, service, atmosphere and very creative Halloween decoration inside and out! Our waiter was the best - his name was Efren (my apologies if this is not the correct spelling). Thank you so much for a wonderful evening. read more

Very authentic Mexican cuisine. I had the Mole enchiladas which were outstanding. We had their margaritas which were great and everyone at the table loved their meals read more

Called in a delivery order at 6:20pm, at 7:30pm restaurant texts me to tell me that they don't deliver to Lyman! My address is 13 MINUTES AWAY! Where do you deliver to? Next door??? I never leave poor restaurant reviews. I know its a tough business to be in, but seriously, the food is ready and you can't just deliver it 13 mins away? If you had texted me even remotely close to when I placed the order, fine. But 1+ hour later is ridiculous. I also, received another text from them that said "lobby... delivery" at 7:18pm. So clearly they attempted to deliver it to a hotel at a different address first. Steer clear of Chuck Balam delivery!!! read more

Absolutely fantastic. Great service. Beer came in frosted glasses. Lovely view out the window.

Friendly service with delicious, authentic Mexican food. Wonderful margaritas and good selection of Mexican beers. Correct hours are 10:00 am - 9:00 pm. read more

Delicious Tex-Mex in Utah! The food and drinks are very reasonably priced. Recommend if you're in the area!

The restaurant is a small, simple, room with big windows in the back facing the mountains. The food was really good! My husband had the carne asada and I had shrimp fajitas. The shrimp was cooked to perfection and was way more than needed to fill the 3 tortillas that came with the meal. Service was prompt with staff working together. When we complimented the meal, our server beamed as if he took personal pride in the quality. read more

While staying in Torrey, Utah visiting the Capitol Reef National Park, a local recommended Chak Balam Mexican Restaurant. I'm rating this establishment a 4 because the food was really good and the customer service was impeccable! Our entrees were $15 each and sides are extra. The establishment is rather small and the set up is a bit unusual with seating at both ends of the building with two separate doors and the kitchen in the middle. But the food was great, the view was beautiful and the customer service was some of the best ever! read more

Small, quaint, restaurant. Great service. Had the Paloma and the Enmoladas. Food was served hot and was tasty.

My partner and I were split on this place. She had the fish taco and the shrimp taco, and thought they were just ok. I had the enchilada plate, with the cheese, chorizo, and Barbacoa, and thought they were damned tasty and filling. The place is set up weird, being in what looks like an old shack, with two dining rooms and the kitchen in the middle. Service is a little chaotic, but the food was hot and fresh. read more

This place looks sketchy from the outside. FYI there are two doors with different eating sections separated by the kitchen so when we walked in, it looked tiny but we realized the second section afterwards. The wait (on a holiday weekend) was about 40 min for the food which allowed us to enjoy some queso and drinks and have some good conversation. The staff was very friendly and apologetic for the wait. But when this food came out, it blew us all away. The food was AMAZING, fresh and full of flavor! The presentation was beautiful. Definitely recommend!!! read more

This place is Awesome!!! I hadn't been to Torrey in years and found this spot. Pet friendly dining on the patio area was great. My Golden felt welcome.. Great, friendly service and my Chips, salsa and beer came out perfectly. I had brunch - skirt steak, eggs, pototoes, beans and tortillas...Soo yummy and my version of Mexican steak and eggs. Check this place out if you're in Torrey..you won't be disappointed!! read more

Chak Balam - Breakfast Burrito with bacon - Mexican Near Me - Torrey, Utah

My husband and I ate here for a late lunch in June. The recommendations looked good! We had the special of the day, sopes. The sopes were prefab shells filled with chicken or pork. They were so tough that we couldn't cut them. We ended up scraping off the filling and eating it with chips. If you choose to eat here, do not get the sopes! read more

Complimentary chips and salsa. Their creamy shrimp enchiladas is out of this world!! It was a weekend special when I was there. The flan was so good too.. it's very rich and thicker texture than other flans I have tried. Soooo good! Cozy setting too with huge windows with views of the red canyons. read more

Great Mexican food. The outside doesn't show how good it is. I don't recommend the carne asada, but my wife loved the flautas. It wasn't that the carne asada wasn't good, just not worth the price. read more

Stopped here after a long day of hiking at Capitol Reef. Enchiladas were delicious. The guy working was busy but efficient and got to us as fast as possible. The location has a rustic theme which was so well played I got a little nervous as we walked up to the restaurant but everything inside was clean and well cared for. read more

This place was a bit out of the way and a bit of a hole in the wall. Food was decent, but unremarkable. But it was an OK place to get a couple of beers and some Mexican food. Place was packed, including the outside seating (and it was a cold evening!), so seems popular with the locals. We had to wait for a table. read more

SO. GOOD. This is a must stop while in Torrey! The staff, view and food are incredible. I got the queso taco, it was like a birria taco and it was the best i've ever had! My husband got the fried shrimp taco and said it was delicious. I got the tres leches for dessert and it was fantastic as well. We will probably go here again before leaving!!! read more

Excellent food! We ordered the Chili Relleno, it was $18.00 smaller portion than would have expected, but it was amazing! Such good flavor. One of the best I have had. We also ordered the enchiladas, good size portion and so so so good, the chimichanga was really good too! Good size! I am Super excited to have this amazing restaurant in Torrey! Can't wait to eat there again! read more

This place was awesome! Very clean, cozy restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly server who was incredibly attentive throughout our entire time there. He seemed young but we were very impressed by how professional, speedy, and thoughtful he was. Food was AWESOME. This place deserves way more recognition! Highly recommend checking out if you are ever in the area (The only complaint I have is that chips and salsa + any refills cost extra, which is not standard where we are from) read more

If there hadn't been a lot of cars in the parking lot, we wouldn't have stopped. Outside looks a little weird, but the food and service was quick and delicious. I would consider this TexMex food. With little options in Torrey, we were glad with this choice. read more

Just had one of the very best Mexican meals I have ever had at Chak Balam in Torrey!!! Don't be fooled by the exterior (looks like a dive). The food is OUTSTANDING and the service is EXCELLENT! We ended up there by accident. Tried to eat at the local tex-mex restaurant, but the owner is rude beyond belief and we'd still be sitting out in the hallway were he told us to sit, but my wife found Chak Balam online while we were waiting (and waiting, and waiting) to place our order at the tex-mex place, so we left. You will be thrilled with Chak Balam if you give it a try!!! read more

Family was starving. We just just finished hiking 6 miles with the kids. Mexican sounded good. Food is plentiful, yummy & hit the spot. The only thing that really surprised me were the prices. I guess I'm not used to paying $15 for flautas? I realize we're in the middle of nowhere and there is inflation, but seriously? I'm used to at least $10 for a entire entree. Oh well. It filled everyone's tummy after a long drive & some long hikes. read more

Don't let the look on the outside fool you, it's a super cute little restaurant with great views of the beautiful mountains while you eat. We had the Beef Fajitas and Enchilada Plate along with the complimentary chips and salsa (great salsa!). My boyfriend had the fajitas but of course I had to try them and I must say, these may have been the best fajitas I've had! My enchiladas were equally tasty. Everything was nice and fresh with great flavor. . We both really enjoyed our meal. Friendly and attentive staff and great food for a very reasonable price...what more can you ask for. We would definitely go back if ever in the area again. read more
