Service and food was amazing! The authentic beef enchiladas, beef tacos and and chicken chimichanga were all flavorful. Had the churros and fried ice cream. They were so good! Yum!

We selected La Cueva for dinner after a day at Capital Reef due to the high Yelp rating. Unfortunately we didn't have a similar experience. The restaurant is in an old fast food restaurant. We went to the front door but couldn't get in even though it was after 5 pm. We started to leave but was able to get a waiter's attention through the window. He met us at the door and realized someone had undone the contraption used to keep the doors unlocked. The dining room was decorated in a typical Mexican restaurant way. Red and green walls, a bulls head and sombreros on the wall with dark wood tables and chairs. The bar had a unique feature of using saddles for the bar stool seats. Our waiter seemed to be overwhelmed. We ordered two soft drinks and the guacamole appetizer. First he brought our drinks then a little later brought us salsa and chips. I asked if the guacamole was going to be out soon to which he replied that is extra. I reminded him we ordered it earlier. To the guy's credit whenever we had this type of conversation he remembered and corrected the situation quickly. The salsa and guacamole were okay. Both were mild. The chips could use some salt. For dinner we ordered the chorizo burrito and the bisteak de mexicana. My husband enjoyed his burrito. I enjoyed the steak which I found to have a kick to it. At one point the waiter brought out a mexicana salad. When I pointed out we didn't order it he immediately realized what happened and took the salad away. We did later have to ask for him to remove the salad from the bill but he did that without hesitation too.

Staying in Bicknell after visiting Capitol Reef National park and needed a place to eat dinner…read more This place had lots of positive reviews so this was our choice. Wow! Reviews didn't lie! It's located in Torrey- you can spot the gravel parking lot with lots of cars in front. In fact we actually didn't see the restaurant because there were 2 rows of cars parked in front-a good sign! The menu was varied- from pizza ( more about that later), steak, salads, sandwiches, trout, mexican food. Good selection of alcoholic drinks, beer and soft drinks and even ice cream floats. The meals came with a choice of salad or soup and choice of baked or mashed potato, fries or vegetables. I ordered the steak sandwich which was strips of steak with grilled vegetables -onions and peppers, cheese and a spread of guacamole. It was served on crusty ciabatta bread. I asked for no added salt on the steak and they graciously accommodated me. It was nicely seasoned and didn't need the extra salt. The meat was nice and tender. Hubby ordered the starter dish taco (2) and it had a large piece of battered fried fish. It was crispy and moist. It could be an entree! I saw other diners order the burger and it was thick and large. Another party ordered the large pizza- let me tell you it was huge-almost big as a lazy susan. It could easily feed four or more. And the price was so reasonable- $23 for the premium pizza and $22 for the others. Looking around, all the meals that came out were generously portioned. No wonder the place was full! In spite of the steady flow of customers, the staff was very friendly and helpful and came by to refill waters. We didn't have to wait too long for the food in spite of the busyness. For those wanting a good meal after a day in the park, come here!

We also had a root beer float but was rather small for being a large on the receipt. Interior was up to par as well as the service.

Just found my new taco spot far away from home…read more Since I've been trucking for almost a week now, I've had the chance to try new food spots on the road -- mostly takeout, no sit-down -- and this place genuinely surprised me. The food was hot, fresh, and way better than expected. If I'm being honest, it was kind of a shocker. It's almost sad to say, but this was better than a lot of what I've had on my recent occasions in San Antonio. I stopped in quickly since we had to get back on the road, and from ordering to food in hand it took no more than 5-7 minutes. I ordered three mini tacos at $3 each, which is a solid price for Utah. I went with one carne asada, one lengua, and one adobada, all topped with cilantro and onion, served on fresh corn tortillas. The tortillas were soft, warm, and clearly made fresh. For salsas, I had two salsa verdes and one salsa roja. The salsa verde was classic and mild -- very fresh and flavorful, though I personally prefer it a bit spicier. The salsa roja delivered exactly what I was looking for with good heat and great flavor. I almost ordered tacos suaves, but I was really craving the mini tacos and I'm glad I went with them. Next time, I'll definitely try the tacos suaves. Everything tasted freshly made and not rushed, which made the experience even better. The restaurant is located inside the Flying J off Interstate 15 (Exit 112), and I was also impressed with how clean the Flying J itself was. Great service as well -- the guy at the counter was friendly and welcoming. This stop turned into a great meal and a new memory in the small town of Beaver, Utah. I'll definitely be back if my routes bring me through again. Highly recommend stopping by Beaver Taco if you're passing through.

Dang. Small burrito. Unpleasant people…read more If you have to eat in Beaver, 5 stars. It was a good burrito. If you can skip Beaver all together, do it. You won't blessed by any experience in Beaver. I suspect there are mice or were in the past from the resemblance to how those particular ceiling tiles look when mice live up there and pee on them. Won't be back unfortunately.
