The more I think about it the more I am Steaming about $18 for a 3 oz margarita that was barely okay and mostly a glass of ice. The only reason I won't take them down to 1 star is the the servers were nice and the view was good and the stuffed mushrooms were good But the drink charge feels like highway robbery and a scam So incredibly dissatisfied and truly offended at the audacity of it. This is the equivalent of a shot of liquid including the mix. It flipped the decision as to whether we would stay another night in the hotel or not to "not". read more

We are staying at the red sands hotel attached to the restaurant and are pleased with the hotel so we decided to try dinner at the restaurant. We started with cups and queso and were bummed it was store bought chips and canned stale unflavored cheese. Yuck. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich with rice. The rice was bland literally no flavor, although it's advertised as seasoned rice. It is far from seasoned. I had the wedge salad and although it was not a wedge (it was chopped) I thought it was very tasty and fresh. The kids split Alfredo and when the waitress set the plate in the table i was appalled. The sauce was separated and very oily. I am a cook and can tell this was a reheat and a very bad reheat at that! Totally gross. I expressed my dislike for the kids food and the waitress laughed me off instead of addressing the pile of oily mush she set in front of my kids... at least the bread was edible. The wine was 8 bucks a glass and i got a 1/4 cup of wine in my glass... lame. Lastly the side salad came after the entrees and the "fresh" onion was translucent as if previously frozen. Gross! I have to say this place was a surprise. We pulled in because a sudden blizzard hit the park. With all of Utahs crazy drinking rules, we were surprised to get a good margarita and a gin& tonic that weren't tiny. The bartender was the only employee and tho vastly overworked and taking care of 4 people at the bar and all 10 tables with folks he remained right on top of everything. I had a really good quinoa salad with chicken and my husband had the chicken kabobs. More then enough food for both of us. U guys need to pay the young man behind the bar. They changed their menu and it is very boring, dry food. I originally chose this place because it looked healthy and the menu featured shawarma and pita wraps. Had dinner here last night. It was really good! They were about to close and they were able to accommodate us. This was the only place that was open and we were very thankful. I'm not sure if it's because of covid or the season but all of the restaurants were closed by 8/9PM. We ordered the cheese tater tots. They were delicious. The cheese was on the inside and they came with ranch. We also ordered two orders of the Chicken Alfredo Pasta. It was perfect. The fetichismos and chicken were great, I would consider it Cajun style. The employee who was handing the front of the house and gave me my food was friendly. They also seemed to have a great draft beer selection but I can't comment on that because sadly there were closing so I couldn't try any. Next time for sure! read more

This was a real hidden gem for my friend and I when searching out dinner options after a long day of hiking, less than stellar lunch choices, and a later dinner in a super small town. We arrived around 8pm for dinner here and there were two other tables already dining but having received their entrees so the kitchen was not busy at all. We had already browsed the menu before arriving so had an idea of what we wanted and liked their local food sourcing, salad and healthy options. It looks like it's fairly new based upon photos and reviews and we could not have been happier with both the service and the food. Our server was very friendly and personable - I had a pineapple cream soda from their Stubborn soda brand and it was really very good. We also split the bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers stuffed with cream cheese and drizzled with a sweet glaze. They were two large peppers wrapped in bacon and lightly air-fried. Made fresh to order. Out in less than 5 minutes and absolutely delicious. Just enough heat with some sweet. I could've eaten 5 of them easily. We both chose the quinoa and couscous salad. It was light, fresh, and filling! Lots of fresh items inside the salad and a house-made light dressing on top. Really delicious. We saw a dessert tray after dinner and it had lots of things I could've eaten but I was stuffed! We browsed their breakfast items and our server made some suggestions on her favorites as well and they had some great options and good coffee as well. Let's dive in: Tortilla Chips arrived broken and appear stor bought but the bag was dropped off the cart and soccer kicked to thr checkout counter. Salsa: whoever thought putting olives - thats right I said OLIVES- in a salsa was a good idea shoukd no be allowed back into kitchen let alone working the line. I mean Someone HAD to test it and say "Yeah, GREAT!" That person too shoudnt even be allowed NEAR a restaurant,let alone work at one. Now, the kabobs, cubes of dried, breasts intermixed with sauteed, hell maybe blanched, peppers and onions sat precariously on a bed of flavorless under-cooked rice. It was THE worst dinner of thr entire trip, which included a dinner theatre chuckwagon themed dinner the previous night that would be a Michelin Star in comparison. Simple things done horribly wrong. Perhaps focus on improving the Bar and Coffee shop experience and patrons can order takeout from professionals near by. read more

The best dinner spot on your way out from Capitol Reef! It's a cute restaurant (nice decor) with such warm and inviting people. They're fast and generous with their portions. We tried the kabobs, onion soup, Alfredo, and salads. Everything was delicious! The Alfredo was amazing and nothing I'd expect from a small town. Try the drinks and anything on the menu! My kids ordered pasta that was cold. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich (his actually looked like pork) with a dab of BBQ sauce, literally the size of a penny. He asked for more but had to get up and find someone to get it. I know it's the off season and staffing is limited, but holy cow.... $100 for food that wasn't edible. A refreshing change to road food for the last few days. We had Alfredo fettuccini and spinach fettuccini. Added chicken to one and steak to the other. Each meal started with a very crisp salad with Caesar dressing. The fettuccini was creamy and flavorful. The chicken was moist and the steak was well-seasoned. Mac & cheese and grilled cheese were just average not worth the price. Cheesy Tots were not cooked properly and there was nothing gourmet about the burger. Pasta Primavera was the winner with perfect flavors and good portion size. Herb potatoes were also good and salad was made with fresh vegetables. They missed to pack kids Mac and cheese. We were offered to pick it up in 10 mins. We drove back to get the it but to our surprise we were only provided the side portion instead of proper size. Tips- It takes around 30-45 mins to prepare pick up order, so plan ahead of time. Check your order before leaving. read more

I really wanted to like this place. And I know they are capable of better, but there were executional misses that force my hand. First- let me state the kitchen was slammed. And that absolutely plays a part regarding my experience. Provided with more time I believe we would have had a better dining experience. Pros -Family run -Entrees (Ribs and chicken sandwich) were excellent- well seasoned, well cooked and overall tasty. Cons -Wait time was 50mins for a chicken sandwich -My side was burned (see pic)- very disappointing given the 50minute wait. So given your limited options in the area, it's worth trying. But if the kitchen is slammed be prepared for executional slip ups. Perhaps if we had dined in rather than to-go there may have had been more care exercised or at least a way to remedy. Place is a local gem! Connected within the Red Sands hotel and spa. Highly recommend for breakfast to go especially for a local hike through one of the beautiful national parks. In particular, suggest the breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel, authentic breakfast burrito, homemade yogurt parfait, and latte!! The hotel is great but this restaurant is a hot mess. Took about 15-20 minutes for someone to take our drink order with about 3 tables with people in the entire restaurant. About 10-15 minutes after taking our drink order they came back to tell us they didn't have 2 out of 3 of our drinks. Then they later delivered the wrong food and had to keep going back and forth. It felt like it must have been their first day open with how bad the service and lack of menu availability was. Again, the hotel was great but this place was awful. read more

Perfect Thanksgiving Dinner. We saw an ad in Facebook that Rock Garden was offering Thanksgiving meals for takeout and since we we're in Covid mode decided to order. The order process was clunky but WORTH it. Everything was just as I'd hoped: the turkey was moist, stuffing, mashed potatoes, plenty of great gravy, butternut squash soup - and all the little details remembered, like butter, rolls, cranberry sauce. They try hard-- food was okay. There was one server who was great... wonderful warm Utah hospitality! She was running everything and trying to serve everyone as best as possible. I had fajitas and it was fine...nothing special. I rate them high for service and hospitality but only a three star rating for food. Also, they have a nice espresso bar, but the only server there was too busy and was not allowed to use it in the evening, which was understood. FYI: Torrey is in the green zone in Utah - there are no COVID restrictions at all. There is no outdoor dining, so we ordered to-go and ate our meal in our hotel room. But it is only indoor dining, servers and employees do not wear masks, there are no social distancing precautions or anything. To me, this is weird because Torrey is a tourist and traveler heavy place with people coming in and out all the time from outside of the county???? Anyway, if you are visiting Torrey or Capitol Reef NP like we were, this place was just okay. read more

It was great that we were able to put our name on the waitlist while we waited in the room.
