Got to-go for two orders of cheese steak fries and two drinks. We waited at the front to pick up, where there's a little booth at the window. Cute idea to have a retro games set up for people waiting. Wasn't super busy when we came around 1 pm, but there was quite a bit of people eating for Sunday lunch. *tip* get a lot of Cha sauce togo! My boyfriend and I were playing for at least 15 minutes, and the cashier brought us our drinks in 5 minutes. We ordered a passionfruit mojito and the sweet green tea for the ridiculously hot weather. Both are very refreshing and I would recommend either! The green tea isn't as bitter and it wasn't too sweet. The passionfruit mojito was actually better than a lot of mojito drinks I've had, not too sour or full of mint leaves getting stuck in the straw! Cheese steak fries were hands down the best I've ever had. We got two because my boyfriend said they were enough to feed one person. He's pretty accurate, and even though I have a small appetite, I was able to eat a good portion, and save some for later. Pretty much sliced beef sautéed with onions, green onions, red bell peppers, top with cheeeese, and their Cha Sauce (Sriracha mayo). Their Cha sauce is really good, and they asked how many we wanted. It's interior emits a very chill and relaxing atmosphere with cali tropical pacific island flair. Indoor dining layout was spaciously organized, neat and well lit. Similarly, its decor and yellow-orange color scheme were perfectly conceived. What's impressively cool was that they have PS game station at the waiting area. I came here on a late Saturday morning for brunch. Their menu is composed of three categories: Comfort, Healthy and Appetizer. I ordered their healthy vegan avocado wrap with homemade chips ($8.98) and grilled chicken skewers ($6.48) and thai ice tea with boba ($5.38). Service was moderately fast. Veggie Avocado (+lettuce, tomatoes) wrap was delicious and tasty. Grilled chicken skewer was really flavorful, soft and tasty. Thai ice tea with boba was particularly good. Prices were reasonable. Staff were attentive, competent and professional. Free WiFi. Delivery is available. Ample of parking on the plaza. Overall I had a good brunch and dining experience. I have not done a review on this place yet, and I have had Cha Cafe on multiple occasions. First off, my favorite appetizer is the pumpkin fries (pumpkin fries dipped in tempura batter and fried!) I also love the sriracha dipping sauce that comes with. The ramen burger itself has been cooked well when I've ordered it. The burger is cooked medium well done and the ramen bun is tasty (there was one occasion it was a bit more oily than I had hoped) and the lettuce can be sometimes not as fresh (wilted) but still the burger is satisfying. I also like the lychee tea because it is not too sweet and refreshing if you love lychee flavor (like me!) Organic tofu over romaine- came with pickled cucumbers and was very light. Came with the oriental dressing that you can get from Costco. Poke nachos- poke tastes like it was sitting in the marinade too long. Kids Tk chicken fritters- battered chicken bites and potato chips. Didn't match the picture, no cucumbers and I had to ask for ranch. Chips tasted a little burnt. My 2 year old just ate off of our plates so probably wouldn't recommend the kids menu. Would I come back? Cha Cafe is not something that comes to my mind when I am hungry. However, when I am driving to Santa Anita mall I always want their ninja fries or frozen hot chocolate. On a couple of occasions I actually turned in and satisfied my cravings. Their ninja fries are not like what they used to be. I remember when they first opened, the fries would be in bigger pieces. On my last visit, there were some pieces that were decently sized but the rest looked like scraps. Maybe they are trying to make it look like shoe string fries. The ninja sauce that comes with the fries is addicting. The frozen chocolate is rich in flavor and never disappoints. I like the consistency as well. Super cute and cozy hole in the wall with nice, modern interior decor! Stopped by for lunch and my coworkers and I had their tacos! The Kalbi beef tacos and shrimp tacos were super tasty. Presentation of food was visually pleasing as well. I had the iced thai tea that was on the sweeter side. Next time I'll ask for less sugar! Overall, it was a refreshing lunch. A year and four months later, Cha Cafe is still one of my favorite places to get comfort food. Whenever I don't know what to get, I almost always default to Cha Cafe. Unfortunately, I can't come here as often as I'd like because I don't want my wallet coughing up blood... The restaurant is kept very clean and the interior is very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. There is a good amount of seating as well as a waiting area for pickups/takeout. As for food, I've pretty much had about 75% - 85% of the menu. My go-to is still the Spamwich because I love Spam hehe. They have drastically improved their in-house chips. They used to be really hard and lacked flavor but it's much, much better now. I still prefer their fries over the chips, though. My other favorites include the Ramen Burger (if I want to treat myself), Beef Wang, and the Cheesesteak Sandwich. I usually order for either pickup or takeout to save time. They usually take about 15 minutes. The service is great and everyone is really patient when you're placing your order. TL;DR Cha Cafe is my favorite spot for comfort food, although a bit pricey. I recommend Spamwich (if you like Spam), Ramen Burger, and Beef Wang. Don't forget the check-in offer for a free dole whip with a $25 purchase! Also, DON'T forget to get Cha sauce with your order. Why is this place not busy for breakfast? The croissants are absolutely delicious!! We tried both the Ube and pandan flavors!! Also their Vietnamese ice coffee was rich and strong!! Breakfast burrito and bowl was good too and can be split into 2 portions. An absolute hidden gem!! Ambiance of this place looks cutesy and probably might be a good place to work or study. Beef Wang Box. I mean, this is pretty much all you need to know walking into this place. It is the quintessence of Asian fusion at Cha Café: marinated stirfry style meet with Green onions and... Wait for it... French fries. Served over rice. I've always sort of struggled with Asian fusion restaurants, maybe fusion restaurants in general. It's like, they can't commit to one ethnicity of food, so they dabble in more than one, sometimes, and neither to perfection. Cha café is a little different. Their creations are actually pretty good, with burritos, pokey, stirfry dishes, wraps... pretty much anything you can think of. The spam burrito is a tasty treat that you probably won't order, but come on, you got to try it once. I love this place! Their food is so good and they are pretty quick. I deducted 1 star because their hours are only from 11am-5pm. I can only get cha cafe on the days when I work from home. But when I go back into office, I won't be able to come back. They used to be open later and was a great place to study or do work. So hopefully one day they can extend their hours to accommodate us 9-5 working folk. They also removed Ninja fries from their menu and that was what brought us to Cha Cafe in the first place. My sister found Cha Cafe on Yelp for our family to eat at while we were staying in the area. Cha Cafe has a range of items on their menu including burritos, wraps, burgers, fries, tacos, poke etc. My parents got the beef wang plate, and my brother-in-law got the spam burrito. I got to redeem the free dole whip offer that you get with a yelp check-in. It tasted spot on to the dole whip you'd find at Disneyland. I sampled some of the beef wang plate and it was pretty tasty. Love the poke nachos here. Been going every now and then for years. Sometimes, when I need to get a blood test, I'll go to the clinic nearby and this'll be the meal I get to break the fast. Sometimes I'll get a bento box to save for lunch tomorrow. Everything on the menu looks so visually appealing. With a side of lightly sautéed squash and red bell peppers, I think they were slightly pickled, which made them more scrumptious :) felt healthy but not deprived. This place is completely different once you're inside. It in a old shopping center but the restaurant has the cutest little chairs outside. When u walk in there a old school Nintendo unit to play. Colors and decor are lively. Food was average. We ordered nachos I was honestly hoping that the chips wouldn't have been so over cooked and that they'd had some cheese on them. Egg rolls were tasty but majorly lacking on any filling. Shrimp rice dish did not have nearly enough topping And i with they had sautéed it and the toppings all together. But it also had SPICY MAYO on it and that made it so much better. - I think it was a good ratio of beef egg mushrooms to rice. - Slowly started to get tired of it Chicken skewer with rice: 9/10 - I shed a little tear eating the first piece of chicken skewer. IT WAS JUST SO JUICY. It has enough flavor but dipping it in spicy mayo makes you want more. - This ratio was not enough chicken to rice hence the 9/10 but.. their rice slaps - Also the chicken at the end of the skewer was a little tougher due to the heat, but i enjoyed it nonetheless Now the drinks... It's awesome they have a nice covid safe setup with an outdoor waiting area, and hand sanitizers - appreciate the signage that makes everything easy to order. Really sweet customer service as well! Growing up in an Asian household where we eat a lot of rice, I appreciate the amount of rice they give, which hasn't changed over the years. They lost stars for a few reasons, the meat to rice ratio, is very disproportionate, even as a big rice eater, I feel like I'm eating two big bites of rice with every 1 small bite of meat now, because the meat is just so little. Yet, they charge extra for choosing beef, so you get charged more, and yet get less. (The wang box price has generally already gone up over 30% since they first opened). I understand economy sucks right now, but other places either keep the price the same and decrease the portion, or increase the price and keep the portions the same. This place is increasing price and decreasing portions, oof. The beef is also overcooked imo, it's well done, (and with good beef, many foodies, including myself, prefer medium rare), so it would be nice if they could cook it at most medium, to satiate everyone, (or if the person chooses beef and pays that extra charge, they are asked how they like their meat cooked?) Also another disappointment is that they discontinued their pumpkin fries, it was literally the side dish I ordered everytime, regardless of the main I get.
