first time here and would be coming back! we were a party a 4 and came on a saturday night (maybe around 7pm) and there were empty tables so we got seated right away. the service was great, the workers are always smiling and checking up on us. also making sure the water jug was not empty from time to time. all of our food came out at once. we ordered the dakgalbi, kimchi fried rice, seafood pancake, and spicy beef and veggie soup (yukdaejang). dakgalbi - did not expected the thin rice noodle on top and it was a bit more saucy/soupy than i had it before. flavor is delicious and the stone pot keeps it HOT. the chicken was good and it wasn't too spicy. kimchi fried rice - this was delicious! so simple and easy to eat, it had spam in there and the kimchi is really chopped up to taste big chunks of kimchi. to me, it is about medium spicy but it kicks in fast then goes away, really enjoyable. seafood pancake - probably my favorite. so crispy and a lot of seafood. the soy sauce for dipping is really delicious and great shareable appetizer for everyone. yukdaejang - the soup is rich and spicy. it hits your throat but again not too spicy where it the heat stays there. very generous with the veggies and they had some clear noodles in there as well. banchan - really yummy! i liked the potatoes the best. everyhting was enjoyable and clean atmosphere. the portions are big which explains the expensive price.

We got a variety of dishes. Overall everything was good. We got the Teok Mandoo Guk, Haemulpajun, royal japchae, and cold noodle soup. The dumpling for cake soup though was good but it got salty once it cooled down. The sides were wonderful. The service was excellent, the real MVP of this place. However, it dawned on me later: the food came out really fast. Not sure if it's fresh or pre-made. Up to your discretion.

Food was decent--- but price, can't be justified. Then again this is the norm these days at Korean Restaurants. I just feel... For maybe two pounds of Bones in Short Ribs in a Pot Roast Style...it dont make sense....100 a pop? You could mix your own sauce...pears, ginger, scallions, mirin, soy sauce, sugars. Gochujang...mind you I didn't even bother looking up the recipe but based on the flavor profile, I'd assume those were the core ingredients before you kind of sauteed all the beef until blood starts leaking out of the bones.... Anyways, I left the place bittersweet. On one end, I'm really full... Potato Cheese Pancake that was a cross between a hash brown, mochi, and pancake drenched in Honeycomb syrup,...and a large plate of pot roast, which felt more like a Rice Cake, Potato Carrots Medley and some bits of Beef Ribs...sauce was minimal, potatoes were on the drier side, I just don't know what to say about the Galbi dish....it felt lacking, and at that price point unless you topped it off with gold flakes white truffles, I feel if I just made an entire pot at home, my friends would be more impressed. Overall everything taste wise was a solid 7.5/10. Ban Chans were well sourced. But factor in the price, book value to product ratio, id rate the score a 6/10. Service was solid. My final thoughts, I don't know who came up with the idea such a dish should be valued at 3x...maybe Sun Nong Dan....but if you ran a central kitchen, braised your own Beef Chucks and Beef Shanks in High Pressure Pot, I think you can easily reach the same results at 1/3 the cost, more people would be able to experience it, it can be served individually rather than in a group and you reach a vast bigger audience. I don't know. Food for thought!

Tried this place with the family for dinner on Tuesday night. They are pretty hidden in a small plaza. There was plenty of parking, probably because it's a weekday. It was empty when we went in. There was one employee who was very attentive and friendly. Seating is spacious and ambiance is clean and quiet. We ordered four dishes to try: -Galbi Tang ($25.99): comes with one big bone with a good amount of tender beef, savory broth, and some glass noodles at the bottom. Wish they gave a bowl of rice. 4/5 -Yangji Seolleongtang ($17.99): after adding some salt and pepper, it was perfect. Comes with some slices of brisket and glass noodles. Also wish they gave a bowl of rice. 4/5 -Bulgogi bibimbap ($21.99): comes with bulgogi, fried egg, carrots, bean sprouts, spinach, and zucchini and sesame oil and gochujang on the side. Could use some more rice and beef. 4/5 -Tonkatsu ($19.99): two cuts of chicken that could've been more crispy but their sauce was very good in a tangy way. Comes with rice, salad, and pickled radish. 4/5 Overall decent portions with yummy side dishes. They also serve iced water and hot barley tea. I would come back again!

While in town for a short work trip, a friend invited my wife and I for dinner at Hangang. We were able to get seated right away and it started to fill out shortly after. They have a variety of Korean dishes (soups, noodles, stews, stuff cooked a cast iron pans). The food was really good (particularly the kimchi tofu stew, the spicy squid and the soup with chicken and ginseng and herbs). We enjoyed our meal and our friend packed up leftovers. The food was pretty good, my main concern was while we were eating there was an unreasonable among of small flies/fruit flies that were flying around and flying toward and in our food. We were dining inside in an open dining area, the staff also seemed to have bug light/zappers by the front counter. It was also an exceptionally hot day that (90 degrees in the afternoon on a Friday afternoon in February), and they weren't like bigger bugs/pests so we kept on eating and completed our meal. While fruit flies aren't a big deal, I hope they improve that part and I would go again.

    Mix seolleongtang

Came here to celebrate my brother's birthday with the family and we had a great experience overall. We ordered the royal galbijim, mix seolleongtang with added octopus, spicy cold noodle, and the seafood pancake. The food was honestly amazing. The flavors were rich and comforting, and the meat quality really stood out. I would even say the meat and seasoning were better than Sun Nong Dan. The royal galbijim was tender and packed with flavor. The only issue was that they forgot to include the octopus in the dish at first. When we let them know, they brought the octopus out separately, but it was just boiled. We had expected it to come back simmered together with the galbijim. It was still good, just not what we thought it would be. The mix seolleongtang had a nice, clean broth, but the meat portion was a bit sparse. We also had to ask for spring onions instead of them being provided from the start. Not a huge deal, but something to note. The spicy cold noodle was refreshing with a good kick, and the seafood pancake was crispy on the outside and soft inside, loaded with seafood. Service was amazing. The staff was attentive, friendly, and generous with the banchan refills. The ambiance is modern with nice decor, and it is quiet enough to have an easy conversation without feeling rushed or crowded. Parking is easy with a large free lot, which is always a plus in this area. Overall, despite a couple small hiccups, we had a great time and really enjoyed the food. We will definitely be back to try more dishes.

    Abalone Porridge

Normally I'll have to drive all the way to ktown for soy sauce marinated crab. I was browsing on Yelp and came across this one nearby. I made a reservation for dinner, but they weren't busy at all on a Friday night. Well lit place, plenty of tables, and parking was easy to find. It was just two people and we ordered Soy Sauce Marinated Crab and Abalone Porridge. There were noodles that came with Soy Sauce Marinated Crab. Never had it like that before but I am not complaining! Salty and meaty crabs over rice...yum! Abalone Porridge was huge. Mellow, you can taste the sesame oil. Good on a cold day. Side dishes were different and I appreciate the variety. They taste better than most common side dishes you get at other Korean restaurant in the area. I love gold utensils instead of your typical silver ones. Utensils and napkins can be found at the side of the table, just pull out the drawer. Complimentary dessert was ice cream but we were given red bean mochi? The staff said it was ice cream. Staffs are friendly and one of them helped me pack my food for to go. I would stop by again and try other dishes!

    Cold noodles, bossam, bulgogi bimbimbap
    Kathy X.

Tried Hangang for the first time and really liked everything we ate, however, it still doesn't compare to our favorite Korean restaurant, Sun Nong Dan. We tried the cold noodles, the bossam, and the Bulgogi bimbimbap. Everything was really good and the portions are pretty large, however, I did feel like everything was lacking a little bit in flavor. They do give you, what I think, are the best side dish options (I love fish cake and sweet marinated potatoes). However, again, it feels like it's lacking a little in flavor. They're also really fairly priced as well and service is fantastic!

Came here on a Tuesday night for some dinner with family since we've been wanting to try this place for a while. Its located in a small plaza that is a bit hard to see unless you look carefully when driving by. But this is the only restaurant here so there's plenty of parking. It was pretty empty when we came so we got seated right away. They have a good amount of tables and the interior is nice. Their menu is not that big so it's wasn't too hard to decide what to order. We got the Galbi Seolleongtang (25.99), Bulgogi Bibimbap (21.99), Tonkatsu (19.99), and Yangji Seolleongtang (17.99). They were served pretty quick and they also gave side dishes. The side dishes were actually pretty good and has free refills. The bibimbap was alright, tasted like other bibimbap places. The Galbi seolleongtang has two large galbi in it and the soup and meat are nicely seasoned. As for the regular seolleongtang, it is on the bland side since you need to add your own salt and pepper. It also has some vermicelli with it. But the seolleongtang was pretty mid. The tonkatsu had some good sauce on it and was crispy and not too dry or hard to chew. But I have had better tonkatsu before. The portions are all reasonable for this price and economy though and we enjoyed it. I just thought the seolleongtang would have come with rice but I guess this place doesn't do that. I think this is an authentic Korean place to try since they do have a good assortment of soups and other entres to order. The only thing was I did notice some small gnats flying around while we were eating. It wasn't a lot but it did bother me a bit. This isn't a spectacular place I would crave but it is a decent spot.

The atmosphere of the restaurant and servers were really nice. i would say it's a little too bright. The menu have your average common Korean comfort food that is very suitable for winter times. We had a small party so we can only try a few things. The Korean ginseng soup with rice and the bossam (boiled pork belly). However, there's definitely in need of some flavor in the food. The bossam was flavorless unless you use the miso sauce. The side dishes are also very mediocre, but I can feel they are very home-made and healthy. They will need to up their game in order to stay in the competition in this area.

My sister had been raving about getting bossam for weeks now so we finally went to Hangang today for lunch. Given that it was lunchtime on a weekend, I was a bit surprised it wasn't busy. They were able to accommodate our large party easily and service was great throughout the meal. This was my first time trying bossam so I didn't know what to expect. I liked the different items the dish came with but one of the sauces was extremely salty so I ended up eating the boiled pork, cabbage, and radish on their own without the sauce. We also got the royal tteokbokki which is essentially bulgogi, rice cakes, and stir fried veggies. I feel like there wasn't a lot of meat in it compared to the amount of veggies. For the kimchi fried rice, the portion was fairly large and it also came with shrimp. As for the banchan, there were 6 different dishes. My favorites were the kimchi, bean sprouts and potato.

Stopped by here for some Korean food on our way back from Joshua Tree. We got some galbi tang and some mackerel. There was so much food - we could have just split the galbi tang and been totally fine, and the mackerel lasted us the entire next week. Service was great, and my partner really enjoyed the braised potato (she said it tasted like adobo, but with potato). Delicious. We came during Super Bowl Sunday, so the place was completely empty, although it filled up throughout our meal.

    Potato banchan

I was craving Bossam and decided to try a new Korean spot, but we ended up loving everything except the Bossam! Don't get me wrong, it was still good, just a bit too fatty for our taste and only available in a large portion size. The real standouts were the flavorful banchan (especially the potato), the comforting galbi tang, the crispy potato cheese pancake, and the generous size bibimbap. We came early on a Wednesday evening and were the only customers, so the service was excellent. We ended up taking the leftover Bossam home, and after a quick run in the air fryer, it tasted better! Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs, we ordered four entrées to share between the two of us, but the leftovers made for two delicious extra meals. If you're looking for a place with great food, friendly service, and no crowds, Hangang is definitely worth a visit!

The tteokbokki delivers that perfect balance of heat and sweetness, with the sauce clinging beautifully to each chewy rice cake. Every bite is bold, glossy, and deeply satisfying. The pickled radish on the side adds just the right touch of brightness, cutting through the richness and refreshing your palate between bites. And the honey butter chicken? It arrives hot and audibly crunchy, each piece generously coated in that addictive sweet-savory seasoning. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and dangerously easy to keep reaching for. We came around 6pm and it changed for dine in option, a server was available this time to give us menus, take our orders at the table and provided banchan (side dishes) for us as well as water. There was a few other tables with us and the place still looks the same. I also noticed a QR code on the table which we didn't use but may be to help streamline ordering in case a server was too busy. The banchan is refillable upon request which we did ask and it was received! I am super happy to see fishcake, picked radish cubes, kimchi, and stir fried julienne potato. Here is what we got: An order of two boneless fired chicken (bulgogi and onion sauce, $3.50 extra for onion and it was worth it in my opinion!). Onion sauce was a nice creamy mild sauce over the chicken and slightly cooling effect to counter the spicy army stew. The bulgogi sauce was slightly spicy and sweet, since it was slightly spicy to my son, and he didn't want to try the onion one, we asked the server to add in a side of fries my son might not eat the chicken. The army stew spicy level cannot be modified and yes it was a little too spicy for me but I ate it well with chicken and fries. It came with a bowl of rice and fried egg on top. We didn't ask for more rice as there was plenty of food. I did enjoy the cheese covered spam slices, mini sausages, and fish cake in the stew, I didn't eat much of the noodles given how spicy it was. Once we finished eating we asked for a check and a to go box, the server was handling the tables by herself and was very attentive to us so she did a wonderful job. Overall, super happy I came back. We plan to com back to try their pancakes and tofu soup!

I decided to try to go in person and order my usual bibimbap + seafood tofu soup. I remember extra banchan can be ordered but not sure about dine in. I ordered directly with the server who handed me a buzzer to wait for my order to be called. It took an around 10minutes for the food the be ready. I had two trays, one for soup and banchan and the other for bibimbap. You mix your bowl of rice (be careful since the bowl is metal and hot!) into the bibimbap bowl, add sauce (only spicy version they do not have nonspicy sauce!) and mix!! It has all sorts of veggies and meat bits and a fried egg. You can also add all the banchan in as well but we wanted to eat them separately with each bite. They gave us a raw egg (crack it in the soup asap if you don't want it runny!) which I cracked into the hot stone soup, be careful because the bowl is super hot!! I think someone melted our tray with is be fair because the tray was morphed as well. Soup was delicious, love the tiny shrimps, clams, and oyster pieces inside with plenty of tofu which I mixed into bibimbap as well. Banchan was 5 dishes! Potato's salad is new to me as I'm used to their kimchi, seaweed, bean sprouts and fish tofu dishes. All great! Enough food so I didn't ask if they give extra banchan or a price or free. Once we were done we returned the tray and bowls to the restaurant. Glad I tried this is person! Still amazing and worth the wait.

Even though there was a weekday special, we ended up going with the normal dinner menu since we wanted some more of the speciality cuts. Of the sides, my favorite was the steamed egg. It was sooo savory and good!! I usually tap out after one steamed egg but I ended up ordering another one because it was just that good. The corn cheese was just okay to me but it got cold and hard really fast. For the meats, we tried a lot of different things. Usually beef belly is one of my favs but I thought this one was a bit thick and hard. All the other cuts though were incredible, like the beef tongue, galbi, flat iron, and pork jowl. The pork jowl was actually both our favorites because it just melted in our mouths! They were quick with changing our grills and asking us if we wanted more meats so service was great! I'd come back if I was in the area but probably wouldn't drive out just for this place.

The beef belly was hard to chew because it was so thick. The tongue was so thick it's like you're eating real tongue . The brisket was sliced perfectly and probably the best out of all the meats we ordered. Pork jowl was okay. The vegetable egg roll in the buffet section was cold. The beansprouts did not have any flavor. Service was amazing because the restaurant barely opened. Other than that there's no vent sucking the smoke so you'll smell a lot walking out of there. Overall, I would definitely not go back due to the food quality.
