Had the pad Thai and chicken with peanut sauce tonight, which was 2 chicken breasts and one tasted like rubber and was inedible, and the other chicken breast was at least edible. The pad Thai was good. Only 1 waitress, so service was a bit slow. Waitress asked how our meal was towards the end of our meal, and I told her one of the chicken breasts was like rubber. She offered to cook it more, but I'm not sure if that would have helped or not, so I declined. I asked for the check shortly afterwards, and was charged full price. I paid, left, and don't plan on going back. If they would have offered to do something more to make it right with me, I would have given them another chance, but they didn't, so I'm not. read more

My husband and I absolutely loved the food! I had Tom yung soup and spicy noodles with chicken. Both absolutely amazing, fresh tasting, and packed with flavor!!! Cha Ba is always consistent. We have had take out from them and have eaten there many times. The servers are polite. the food, when getting delivery, arrives hot and in decent time. This place was ok. Small spot on the main strip, very accessible. The waiters were quick and courteous with service. Food, however, left something to be desired. Chicken satay was ok but the portion was a bit small compared to other Thai restaurants I've been. The "spicy noodle" wasn't all that spicy and it was lacking in beef. The dish was a bit overwhelmed by undercooked peppers. My wife's Pad Thai was ok, but again lacking in protein. I'd be willing to give them a second chance based on the good service and strong reviews, but wasn't overly impressed. read more

Honestly this is one of the most disgusting restaurants I've even been too..and to make things worse, i took my mother here on mothers day. Total disappointment. Food here is disgusting and the service and staff are horrible. Shrimp were RAW and mealy. When i tried to tell the waitress about it , she said , " not our fault, maybe you don't like your shrimp like that." She did nothing about it and the dish was inedible. Based on previous reviews about having to wait long for service, I have to disagree. I live closeby and delivery was about 20-30 minutes, and timely. My husband and I ate lunch here recently and again, service was very quick and courteous. The food here was delicious! I am a big fan of the beef with sweet/spicy basil sauce (it IS spicy, but you can't stop eating it!) as well as the spicy noodles (not THAT spicy, but in my opinion, the best noodles I've ever had in a thai restaurant). A bit pricy compared to other places in the area and the amt of food you get for your money.. regardless, I will be coming back :) read more

I really LOVE thai food and I just moved to the area, so I tried this place. I ordered delivery and It was the WORST pad thai I have ever had. I have eaten a lot of pad thai and this was just completely the wrong flavor and just gross overall. It is possible that other dishes are good there, but stay far away from the pad thai. read more

Delicious Thai food, we always do carry-out or delivery from here, and it is top notch EVERY time. The spicy noodle, red curry, panang curry, spring rolls, Tod-mun, fried rice, and pad thai, everything is delicious. Reasonable priced, and quick service. read more

Very good food. I prefer to get take out, as the dining room is small and gets chaotic easily. Delivery is fast and I've never had any issues. The Spicy Eggplant dish is one of my favorites and portions are really generous. Long Beach needs more ethnic places like this! read more

The food and service are fantastic. My husband is 6'2" and he orders same thing each time- avocado salad and beef with mixed vegetables and he's very full. I like the beef salad, basil chicken, and pad thai. The food is very fresh, a little spicy, and not at all greasy. They've recently started serving alcohol (it used to be a byo). They have several beers (including two Thai beers) and a small, but nice wine selection. The restaurant itself is pretty small (about 12 tables/24 seats), but I like the coziness. It also allows the wait staff to be that much more attentive. Overall, I highly recommended Cha Ba Thai. read more

My son , who lives in Long Beach, wanted to take us out to very different restaurant before we left for home which is in Pittsburgh. The service was very good, even though all 10 tables were filled. It is rather small but the food is excellant. I had Golden Walnut Chicken, and my husband had scallops wrap with rice. The appetizer was spring rolls. They were excellant. We had some Chang beer, my husband liked it very much. The presentation of all the dinners was amazing. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I can't wait to go back and visit my son and visit Cha Ba again! read more

Fresh, plentiful, spice just right served in a pleasant setting. Who could ask for more? Hubby and I stopped in this place after the Long Beach Jazz Festival. Place was jammed but not too noisy (a plus on a busy Saturday night). Server was quick to seat and get water. We tried the basics--green curry with chicken, spicy eggplant with vegetarian duck and a Thai salad. All very good. We split the salad with its fresh ingredients and nicely balanced peanut dressing. Hubby (a vegetarian) had the eggplant and vegetarian duck. He liked it a lot saying it was flavorful rather than just spicy. He got a good sized portion. I had the green curry which contained red and green bell pepper, bamboo shoots, green beans. I asked for medium spicy-which was served at the point where if it were slightly more spicy-it would have been too much. Only down side-the portions are large and you end up ordering more rice. Wish these places would give the right amount of rice to the portion they serve and not try to nickel and dime you over rice. If you're looking for super attentive servers, forget it...that said we did not have to have water glasses filed, dishes cleared etc. Definitely going back here again. read more
