One time my favorite go to place. I think they changed owners because I did not recognize anyone and no one was the cute Chaba tee shirts. I had by far the worse experience ever in this place. As far as Thai goes on L.I. this is one of the more decent places that I have tried, I'm not a true Thai expert but I have found that their dishes here live up to what I have had a more well know NYC spots. The atmosphere here is that of a tiny galley style restaurant that's nicely dim with candle and soft lighting, has a very clean cut simple vibe to the location and tends to be busy on most nights. The presentation of the Mussman curry was really nice served in a small copper cauldron to help keep it warm, it was a nice presentation touch. As far as spice is concerned I did ask for it hot, and got it more to medium, that's ok though it still had plenty of kick. Decent spot for a date or just to get away from the norm. read more

I went here with DPG and TStew for dinner here last week and it was amazing! I had the Mee Krob, which is crispy noodles with tofu, shrimp, scallions, and a special sauce and it was A-Mazing! I also had really good sticky rice and a pretty decent Thai Tea. TStew had some sort of seafood salad and something else I can't remember and DPG had this really great shrimp/prawn dish that she loved. She also had really tasty coconut juice. TStew says she goes here all the time and it's her favorite - I can see why! Next time I'm back in Long Beach I'm definitely heading here. read more

I think the other night was a fluke. I went back because the food was good and this time there were no problems and the food was outstanding! Ate here the other night and it was good. It didnt blow me away like some other thai places ive eaten, but I will def. be back. I got the duck salad which was really good. I liked the mix of flavors in it (pinapple, apple, red onion, tomato, chili paste). The duck was good, very crispy- actually reminded me a lot of crispy pork belly. Some pieces had a little fat on it (hello, its duck), but no issue here with chewiness. It had a little spicy kick to it. My only issue here is that it was a little overdressed. For my entre I got the red curry with shrimp. This was good too. It was spicy, maybe too spicy for some, maybe not spicy enough for others. I thought it was a good amount of spice, although I prob could have went up another level or two before being very uncomfortable. You could def taste the coconut milk in it. Normally I'm not THAT into coconut, but in currys when other spices are in it, I love it. I say if you are in the area or know someone who lives close by, go for it. I would not say to travel tons of miles for it as there are other thai places on LI/Queens that are awesome too. I will be back for the salad and to try the other currys. read more

Wow... This place is a hidden Gem and def worth going. The restaurant is always packed so make sure you give ample time incase you have to wait. The best Thai food around! Everything is good, but the vegetable dumplings are a particularly good appetizer, and the Pla Lad Prig is a phenomenal entree! Get it as red snapper, it's my favorite as whole fish, but it is also offered as a filet. The one down side is that it is a small restaurant, but the service is very good. The waiters will even remember you if you are a repeat customer, even though they are usually pretty busy. read more

I was impressed when this place opened, the basil chicken dish was always excellent as a take out option. Unfortunately had a bad experience when eating there. The basil chicken dish, the chicken tasted... off. Maybe old? I was suprised. We also ordered the mussels and ended up having to return them - the odor they put off was old and fishy...downright gross really. I hope it was just an off day. Definitely my favorite Thai place. The food is always fresh and always looks and tastes great. I'm a vegetarian and they offer a "vegetarian duck" option instead of the same ole tofu in any dish. I've been to this place numerous times over the last few years. Unforunately, my star rating has gone down. First few times I went, the food was awesome! I've had the thai basil rolls (bland and gross), sauteed hot sweet basil shrimp/chicken (ok), red curry shrimp/chicken (good...used to be great), cha ba honey duck (good from what I remember), siam shrimp (fair), chicken pad thai (kinda dry), and pineapple fried rice (bland). The red curry dish was my go to dish and really hooked me on the place...used to be amazing. The duck was delicious when I had it a ways back...although it was a bit fatty. My recent couple of trips the food wasn't as good. The curry wasn;t as tasty and the other dishes, were fair at best! Hope this place can turn it around. out of all the dishes I listed above, I would only recommend the shrimp with red curry sauce and the duck! Oh and if you've never been here, this place is really small...like 8 tables! If it's a cold sat night, you will have to stand outside to wait...keep this in mind!!! ***Update- went here for dinner again last night...took another reviewers suggestion and tried the nua yang appetizer...delicious!! The meat was cooked perfectly medium rare and the sauce was spicy and delicious...I highly recommend this app! For dinner, we had the red curry cicken again and the hot basil duck. The duck was hit or miss...some bites were a little dry and over done and few bites were perfect. Not much fat this time on the duck. The red curry was fortunately back to the old days...AWESOME!!! We absolutely loved it and took the remaining sauce and rice home and threw in some leftover chicken and veggies for another delicious dinner. Ordered delivery here for the first time last night and am undecided if I will order again. The man on the phone told us it would be a 45 minute wait- ok no big deal. Over an hour later, my husband and I were still waiting for our food. We tried calling the business back to see how much longer it would take, but we either got a busy signal or it would ring and ring and no one would pick up. We don't mind waiting for our food, but at least pick up the phone! My husband had a curry dish which he said was good, but they should give more rice for all that sauce!! I had the peanut chicken & it was ok, nothing to write home about. The curry puffs were delicious, though!
