We have been bringing our dog here for daycare for about two months now. He always has a great time and comes back extremely tired. We have never had an incident with any of the other dogs or staff. A few things sold us on this place when we initially visited (unannounced, at that) and still today: -the facility is humongous. There's lots of options for both indoor and outdoor play which also aids with temperature and climate control for Atlantas crazy weather. -it is very clean and typically always smells clean. Our dog rarely comes back smelling like "kennel". -playgroups are organized by size and temperament of the dogs. They're not just all sitting around in a big room together. -they offer, for an additional fee, circuit training with a professional. An extremely detailed report is provided with what your dog does well and where improvement is needed. -reception is always staffed. Dropoff and pickup are so efficient. Only once I had to wait and it was because multiple people arrived at the same time. The online booking system works well but a few times when verbally booking with a person, the reservation didn't make it officially into the system. Wednesdays tend to be their busiest day. They ask you to commit to a standing appointment, visiting once a week on the same day. I can see why that is beneficial for the dogs forming a pack, etc. but also hard to work out with our work schedules, travel, etc which changes from week to week. So far, it hasn't been an issue to make our booking on a weekend for that coming week. We recently received an email that they are moving to a membership based system effective 6/1 so that might change things. Overall, can't say enough good things! Excellent place for high energy dogs providing respite for their owners, and older/lazy resident dog, alike!

Yorkie cut with nail grinding add on: $45 + $10 I love bringing my dog here for their grooming services. I haven't tried out their day care so I can't really speak to that. I have been very pleased every time I have picked my baby up from his bath and grooming. They do a really good job every single time. To me, consistency is very important and they never seem to disappoint. I've been to numerous other doggy salons and this is the best one I have been to so far in Atlanta that has pretty reasonable pricing. This is my 3rd time here and I will continue to come here as long as their grooming services continue to stay consistent. They are also very professional and accommodating to your requests & needs. Highly recommend if you are looking for a good grooming place for your pet. Especially if you are like me and have had difficulty finding a place that provides consistent service.

My dog has been going to Central Bark for her whole life beginning with the free puppy power hour. She has a sweet face, but a difficult personality. The staff at Central Bark is calm, patient and understanding of her unique needs. Whenever I leave her here, I know she is in good hands. I am so thankful for Central Bark.

The staff are excellent here. My pup has gone to daycare once a week, groomed once and boarding for 4 days & is always well taken care of. I've noticed a real change in my dogs behavior with being more social to humans and dogs since starting here. Highly recommend the Brookhaven location!

Que - smelling like lavender and ready to hit the town with her new 'do'
    Yazi M.

Central Bark puts the 'do' in doodle! Our Que is a mini labradoodle but she seems to gain 100 pounds of strength whenever we try to get her into the bathtub. We turned to Central Bark to start grooming her early on as a puppy and they have always done a fur-nomenal job! Every doodle parent's worst nightmare is getting their four legged baby back and having them "poodled" - Central Bark really listened to what we asked for and has exceeded our expectations in keeping our girl looking more lab than poodle! Que has really challenging fur - it is very thin and will blow in the wind. Makes for adorable pictures but can be hard to shape/trim - the groomers here are seasoned professionals who we now trust whole-heartedly. Only downside is, they do such a great job, that they book up far in advance so my advice is to make an appointment way ahead of time!

BEWARE: Central Bark double dips when charging for grooming services. I dropped my English Springer Spaniel (female, 60lbs) off for a grooming last Friday and was charged $65 for a FULL GROOM SERVICE which per the website includes bath, nail trim, ear clean, and anal expression (per the website). I was fine with this as this is what I expected. Then I was charged an additional $55 for the Furminator Deluxe (which is NOT LISTED ON THE WEBSITE SO I have no clue what the difference is and why it's basically the equivalent of the full groom)! When I ask the staff in person upon pick up and call after it's very apparent no one can distinguish what that charge was for. Historically it's been $25 - $35 which is was also fine with, but $55?! Mind you, my dog maybe 60lbs in weight but she's not a lab or golden, etc....so again beware when dropping your dog off for grooming services as they charge what they want... ******* Update: I want to note Nick, the Groomer, does a great job and I've always been pleased with his work.

Dropped my pup off this morning and I'm already impressed. Ashley, the girl up front was super sweet and the place itself was very clean (very important to see as a first time customer). I am so excited to pick up my pup because I have he's in good hands. I've had horrible past experiences with other groomers so I am happy to have found this place! *UPDATE 10/17/17: last time I got a mini groom and today my doodle got a full groom and he looks AMAZING! I showed them a picture and they did exactly what I wanted. Everyone is so sweet there, which I really appreciate. My dog smells so good I can't stop smelling him (yes he is getting annoyed with me). HIGHLY recommend this place, it is so difficult to find a good groomer you trust and like.

My pup's exposed blood vessels :(

I took my dog here for grooming. We brought her here from as a puppy for puppy power hour and wanted to support them during the pandemic when we stopped bringing her to daycare. Her grooming has since gotten significantly worse. It started with her grooming resulting in jagged edges around her face. Her last grooming appointment had this AND her nails getting cut so short that the blood vessel in her nails was exposed at least once on each of her paws :(. Luckily my husband and I have experience treating animals so we know how to dress her wounds, but i can't imagine if it was someone without that knowledge. I loved them for daycare, but I will be looking for another groomer.

My westie puppy loves going to Central Bark! We take her here for doggy day care, grooming, and overnight stays. The staff does a terrific job of treating our puppy like she's theirs. The facility is large and CLEAN! They have 4 play areas inside and 3 outside with baby pools. The dogs are split into groups based on size and temprament. Our puppy comes home from day care exhausted from all the playing! We've only had 1 haircut (she's 8 months old), but it looks great. Without us really knowing what we wanted, Central Bark cut her hair exactly how we imagined it (I've uploaded pics). Central Bark is our go to doggy day care! We drive out of the way and past other dog day cares to go here - that's how great they are! Thanks so much Central Bark for treating our puppy like a princess! :)

Is there an age limit for the dogs you groom?

No, ma’am! We groom all ages of dogs as long as they are healthy and up to date on vaccinations.

Does someone stay overnight with the dogs when you board them?

Hi Johnna. No, there is not someone here with the dogs overnight. We do have plenty of cameras in the room they sleep in and check in regularly. They have their final potty break at 7pm and are let out first thing in the morning at 6:45am. We would…

I've parented/known many rescues in the past and never seen anything like the fear she exhibited. fully freaked out, I shot a message to Atlanta Dog Wizard with an SOS to help. Kat quickly got in touch and we had about a 30-min call, which provided me with INVALUABLE insight into my urgent situation. She has a passion for rescues and turning around challenging situations and making dogs (and humans) shine. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I was very excited when I first met with my trainer. Unfortunately, tools are not something that I…read moredid not necessarily want to use. I, myself, a novice, not a trainer, had been using a prong collar. I was jarred when she used the prong to correct my 10 month old puppy, and said he was in shock because she kept snapping the leash. That was a bit too much for me. However, when I asked the trainer what method they used, and I was told the LIMA method. I was confused as to why corrections with tools were being used. After reaching out to a few trainers, this is what I have found about the LIMA METHOD; There are technically 2 views on what this term means. The original definition has a hierarchy of things that must be done before going to usage of tools of discomfort such as prong collars and the like. The newer more common conversation has left the hierarchy behind and does not allow for use of such tools at all. So I was definitely not understanding why the trainer seem led to be using the prong as a crutch to train. I was only using it for walking, and eventually would have liked to not use a prong collar at all. The trainer was definitely professional, but using tools to walk, place, sit, basically give any command was not something I was interested in. At one point when she kept snapping the leash on my youngest puppy, teaching him place I expressed that I had taught my other puppy how to be in place without doing that. My hope was that they would see if I can do it without snapping, a leash and a prong collar on the dog that they can do it too but the same behavior kept happening. I also let the trainer know that my other pup would bite if you tried to take food away that he found on the street, but we were not using that scenario at all when training. Since I am not a trainer, I can only go by what other trainers have told me. They have told me that unless I have aggressive dogs that are biting or trying to hurt others that prong collars are really an antiquated tool as is the e collar. Definitely no hard feelings. Just not the training method for me.

My dog Buzz and I absolutely loved working with Betty at Canine PhD!…read more After reading so many glowing reviews for Canine PhD, I decided to give them a try after looking for positive reinforcement trainers near us in Decatur. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made for both Buzz and me! Buzz struggles with anxiety and reacts nervously when new people approach, especially on walks or in public places like restaurant patios. From our very first session, Betty made both of us feel comfortable and confident. She immediately recommended a no-pull harness that made a huge difference. Walking Buzz and his corgi brother, Phil, is finally fun again! I truly missed our morning walks, and it feels amazing to enjoy them again without constantly worrying about Buzz pulling away or Phil getting loose because my attention was elsewhere. What stood out most is that Betty doesn't just train dogs -- she trains their owners, too. She helped me learn how to communicate more clearly and understand what Buzz is feeling. Betty gave us exercises to build trust and confidence. He's already such a happy pup, but he lit up even more during each session, as you can see in his picture! You could tell how proud he was every time he got something right. The whole experience strengthened our bond even more, and I ended up enjoying training far more than I ever expected. Betty also gave us fantastic techniques to help Buzz stay calm when meeting new people, both out in public and at home. He's learned that his bed is his "safe spot," and now he'll go there on his own when guests arrive until he's ready to say hello. It's been such a big, wonderful change seeing him so much more relaxed and secure. We did three sessions at Canine PhD and three at home, which was the perfect balance. It gave us the chance to practice in both structured and real-life settings, and between sessions, we had Betty's helpful homework to reinforce what we were learning and keep us progressing even outside of training. The pricing was very reasonable and the value we got from the training far exceeded what we paid. What I appreciated most was Betty's honesty and empathy. She set realistic expectations right from the start, explaining that this wouldn't be a quick fix -- and she was right. Some dogs are just naturally more anxious, but she gave us the tools and confidence to help Buzz make real progress. I can't recommend Betty and Canine PhD enough! She's a wonderful person! Super patient, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in helping both dogs and their humans succeed. If you're looking for a trainer who truly understands behavior, builds trust, and brings out the best in you and your pup, Betty is the one to call!
