    Happy corgies!

Harley has only been going to DogPhoria a short while but she LOVES IT!!!! Every day she can't wait to jump into the car and go to 'school' and then she practically runs through the door to get inside. At the end of the day she is so tired she crashes out in the car as happy, tired dog. Another great service is the webcams. Anytime of the day I can log on and see how she is doing and playing with her friends. The staff really does an amazing job with all the pups! No more destructive chewing, no more pent up energy and most importantly no more guilt from mom about leaving her locked up in the crate all day. Love this daycare!

    Camera 2 large dog area

Picked the place based on location and having cameras. Staff is nice, more so when I call than in person. There is a guy who seems to be a manager and can be short and attitude like he knows your dog better than you. They don't allow treats (they tell you only soft but when you bring them they confiscate them) no toys no blankets in their crates just the concrete floor and MIGHT have a blue plastic bed but not all get one. Hard to say much else, you cannot see anything on the large dog camera. It freezes 30sec pictures instead of live stream like the small dog camera. They roam free all day and taken out only once in morning and night. You can watch dogs use the bathroom on the indoor concrete floor so if your dog is in training, avoid. As this is confusing for them. I do see staff petting the dogs here and there on camera but majority avoid contact likely to not instigate any rough play. Just walk around monitoring with a mop cleaning waste as it happens (they do seem clean!). When we got home both our dogs bolted for their water bowls and drank for a solid 10min. It was in the morning maybe they hadn't had water yet but odd behavior nonetheless. I do not see water bowls on the cameras as they play all day, maybe in the various places the camera does not view. Overall our dogs seem fine but not the best place in town.

Aska really really likes this place. I can't thank enough to staff and owners for taking care of my love

Once a week I drop her off for daycare just to get some playtime and allow me to stay late.

I was very hesitant of using Barking Up the Right Tree at first…read more After having 2 pet sitters quit on me because of my overly aggressive cat, I didn't have much confidence that this would go any different. However, my sitter - Andrea - is phenomenal and probably one of the first people ever that my diabetic cat lets near her. I am very happy that I have found her. I do find that they are a bit pricey. $2 for every additional cat seems a bit much, considering that the process would be the same, especially when you already are paying extra for medication administration. But I guess that when you have a good pet sitter, it's worth the extra money.

OUR EXPERIENCE WITH BURT WAS A NIGHTMARE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AND WOULD NOT HIRE THEM AGAIN…read more We hired Barking Up the Right Tree (BURT) for the first time as part of a five-day, five-night pet-sitting engagement for our two dogs, agreeing to five walks and five overnight stays with a female sitter (our dogs tend to prefer women) and a military discount. During this time, we experienced three issues, all of which we brought to their attention (vs. of the other way around): 1. The first pet sitter brought her fiancé along without our knowledge or permission, which we caught on our doorbell. The excuse was that he was experiencing "a distressing personal situation." This is not only extremely unprofessional; it's a liability. We let it go and asked that it not happen again. 2. The second pet sitter, who was booked for an overnight stay, left at 9:45 PM to spend the night at her own home. At first, we thought she went to get dinner, but after two hours, we contacted the owners again. They confirmed she went home because she interpreted my offer "to stay in our guest room if she wanted" meant she did not actually have to stay overnight, despite the fact we paid for an overnight stay. They sent her back and took one night off our bill. At this point, I started wondering if I needed to fly home; this was not going well. 3. A couple of days later, we returned home only to find that the first pet sitter had burned the interior of our built-in microwave and melted the interior door panel by heating up metal dog bowls in it, twice. She could have caught our kitchen on fire. When contacted, the owners confirmed she did it but claimed she didn't know you can't microwave metal or where alternate bowls were located. I would assume this is common sense, but you'd think you'd stop the microwave after it started sparking the first time. I also sent her a photo of my instruction letter where I had explicitly mentioned where the other bowls were. Despite our open communication throughout this experience, their manager blamed us for the sitters' errors and made both excuses (e.g., "they're not our employees; they're independent contractors") and sarcastic comments ("we don't put trackers on them"). She informed us that our "old" microwave was worth $100 "if that." It's a built-in, name-brand appliance with a replacement cost almost three times that. After everything, she also decided it was a good time to ask for proof of my husband's military service, questioning his integrity. When you trust someone with both your pets and your home, you might expect them to treat you a little better.

Would not recommend for long-term boarding, especially for dogs needing coat maintenance…read more I boarded my Shih Tzu here from July 11-22. She has a drop coat that requires regular brushing to prevent matting -- I know that's not something a boarding facility can do for free every day, and I never expected that. At drop-off, I explained this to a young woman, possibly Haley (who was doing intake) and the groomer, who happened to be there. I even brought my own brushes and asked for her to be brushed 2-3 times during the week. I was told they'd check with the groomers. We also scheduled a mini groom for pickup day, July 22nd. Over the following days, I checked in on the webcam when I could and noticed she was looking increasingly disheveled. On July 19th, I reached out again to confirm the grooming appointment and to ask if anyone was brushing her, since she looked matted on camera. Haley responded right away and said she'd ask the groomers. On the morning of the 22nd, I got a call from the groomer explaining that my dog was severely matted and would need to be shaved down. When I reminded him I had specifically requested regular brushing at drop-off, he asked who I'd spoken to -- it became clear that the request had not been passed along or acted on for the entire two-week stay. He was apologetic, waived the dematting fee (which I would never have paid), and said he'd try to save as much coat length as possible. When I picked her up, it was obvious he'd tried, but the result was thinned out, uneven and choppy -- chunks clipped short around the mats, with a longer matted section left near her neck and tail and her top knot was a dreadlock. She looked worse, not better, and I had to book an emergency appointment at PetSmart of all places afterward just to even out her cut. What frustrates me most is that this was preventable. A specific, repeated request was made at drop-off and again mid-stay, and nothing happened until the final morning when it was too late to do anything but shave portions of her coat. Why not just do a proper cut? I was hoping this could be a regular daycare spot for my dog since I'm heading back into the office a few days a week, but after this experience I won't be returning. I don't care about the money. I'm hurt and disappointed more than anything. Photo 1: "Discovery Day" on July 8th. The "before" after a full day of daycare. No problem. Photos 2-3: During the stay. Photos 4-6: The "after" on pick-up.

Recently our pet sitter through Critter Sitters retired and we met with our new sitter one time. Everything seemed fine and we were scheduled to go out of town and had confirmed with the new sitter employed by Critter Sitters that everything was in order. Yesterday I asked for clarification about the billing since it seemed substantially higher with the new sitter over what we had paid previously - in response, I have been told that the sitter's schedule has changed and that I should seek care for my animals elsewhere. With little more than a week's notice, this was very unprofessional and disappointing to say the least. I've tried to communicate my experience to the owner of the company but the line has been busy for some time; will update this review if new information becomes available but sadly, I can no longer recommend this business and would seek care for pets elsewhere. Update: the owner responded and while appreciated, I find the way this situation was handled by Critter Sitters very unprofessional. I can include the text conversation for reference as I did not negotiate: I asked a question about a price difference between two different sitters employed by the same company, a difference of over 300 dollars. The only "policy" I see enforced or followed here is poor customer service.
