    Shadow at training

It's was a pleasure meeting kaizen canine and there team , can't wait til we start the program with shadow

This feels like they value profits over puppies. IMO, this is a story of a small business that, while experts at dog training, delivered a customer experience to me that narrowly focused on short-term, bottom-line, driven metrics vs. creating a customer advocate that would've likely attracted new clients and returned long-term brand value in the end. My experience with Kaizen started with hope and excitement. They're clearly knowledgeable and - once my training program started - I could tell they were helping me as the owner and I saw my dog respond to the training for the better. Sadly, with two pre-paid training sessions remaining, I had to make the tough decision to return the dog to the breeder. My puppy had hip dysplasia and his symptoms were returning. After several contract conversations, Kaizen finally agreed to refund my $390 for the remaining, unused training sessions (labor they had not yet delivered) - which we all agreed was fair due to the agonizing situation that was out of my control. To get the refund, they submitted a settlement statement - that I never agreed to sign - which included some language that I don't agree with. I did create/sign a new settlement statement agreeing to suspend all future monetary claims and a promise to consider the matter settled upon receiving my refund. Sadly, they still haven't issued my refund until I agree to their original settlement terms. IMO, this is a misguided, head's down stance. I feel this approach to customer experience only stands in their way of aiming to end every client relationship in a way where clients WANT to advocate for their business, which pays for itself - and more - in the long-run. This isn't about the quality of their dog training - they are good at that. But in the end, customers won't forget how businesses make them feel. And when a dog owner is already navigating the loss of a puppy that they've bonded with and have cared for nearly a year, why show up in a way that makes him feel kicked while he's down? This has been an unforced error as I see it, but I'm still hopeful. The time is always right to do what is right.

We have worked with Kaizen Canine to train our dog Pepper, an American bully with a stubborn but sweet temperament. Pepper had of trouble with obedience before we began the training. She would sit on command, and would sometimes come when called, but would have occasional accidents in the house, and took multiple attempts of yelling commands at her for her to listen. We sought help from Kaizen Canine from a neighbors recommendation, and they transformed our relationship with Pepper. Many of our issues stemmed from our misunderstanding Pepper's motivations, and learning the style that Pepper learned best from. As we met with Taijon, Valeria, and Francisco for our training sessions, Pepper went from an okay listener to extremely well trained on or off leash. We receive many compliments from family, friends, and strangers on her behavior on a regular basis. Anytime we see her become more relaxed with training we know exactly what games to play with her to strengthen her discipline and impulse control. We are able to enjoy more quality time with Pepper and feel confident in her ability to follow commands as needed. Kaizen canine is a team of excellent trainers who will understand the dog they are working with and help teach you how to teach/train your dog.

I highly recommend! My Yorkie was struggling with house training and obedience. They came highly recommended from close family friends and I couldn't be happier. The team is pleasant and very professional, communication was consistent through the 5-week training, and the return home has been seamless. This is hands down the best investment made this year. Thank you Kaizen Canine!

Kaizen Canine and the trainers have truly changed the relationship that I have with my dog (Jameson) for the best. Prior to going through their 8 week one-on-one training, Jameson was extremely reactive towards other dogs on walks, he pulled, he was a very inconsistent eater and he did not follow commands (although he knew them). Jameson also exhibited a lot of anxious behavior which translated to a lack of confidence in himself and in me. It felt like the basic foundation of trust just was not there between us. Fransisco met us with compassion and understanding, I never once felt judged or that I wasn't doing my best as a handler. The program was very easy to follow/understand although it does take putting in 100% for the one-on-one program. Jameson and I were supported through every step and given encouragement that pushed us to continue giving our best effort. I have been given all the tools and training to feel comfortable and confident in my ability as a handler. A HUGE thank you to Fransisco for making this such a positive experience. After completing the program, Jameson and I are able to go on public outings and walk in crowded places with dogs passing by (which I NEVER thought we would be able to do prior). He not only listens to commands but truly understands what I am asking him to do. I know that I have a family through alumni's of Kaizen Canine's program and within the trainers themselves. I cannot recommend the Caizen Kanine family high enough!! Your pup is in great hands with this team. If you're questioning whether or not to enroll in either board and train or one-on-one, DO IT!!

Couldn't be happier with my experience, Kaizen Canine is the best! Taijon, Valeria, and Francisco are very knowledgeable in teaching you how to communicate and improve your relationship with your dog. My dog Oliver was super reactive and high energy and now he knows how to chill out and be around other dogs/people, which I wasn't sure was ever going to be possible. Now I get compliments all the time on how well behaved he is and have recommended Kaizen Canine to strangers and friends. I can't recommend him enough!!

I really enjoyed my session with them. The staff are incredibly friendly and are knowledgeable about the concerns I had. They explained different ways to train my dog and I was surprised how well my dog did. I give them a 10/10. :)

We can now take Moose off leash comfortably knowing she will come when called, sit and stay even in busy environments. I feel like we are happier humans and she is a happier dog thanks to Sam's help. The training style used was also based on rewarding Moose with play rather than food or negative reinforcement, which I really appreciate and didn't know much about before. We couldn't be more pleased with the results. Highly recommend Dog Wizard and Sam!

Probably my highest review ever for a service I haven't used yet. hear me out…read more I just rescued a Rat Terrier puppy called Raffi from Texas, who showed signs of abuse and trauma upon arrival. I've parented/known many rescues in the past and never seen anything like the fear she exhibited. fully freaked out, I shot a message to Atlanta Dog Wizard with an SOS to help. Kat quickly got in touch and we had about a 30-min call, which provided me with INVALUABLE insight into my urgent situation. That information she gave me--keep in mind, I had paid no money for her advice or training to this point--gave me some practices I could use, right away, to make Raffi feel more comfortable. I still might officially use Atlanta Dog Wizard in the future, if Kat is any indication how the company does things. She has a passion for rescues and turning around challenging situations and making dogs (and humans) shine. Cannot recommend highly enough.

My dog Buzz and I absolutely loved working with Betty at Canine PhD!…read more After reading so many glowing reviews for Canine PhD, I decided to give them a try after looking for positive reinforcement trainers near us in Decatur. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made for both Buzz and me! Buzz struggles with anxiety and reacts nervously when new people approach, especially on walks or in public places like restaurant patios. From our very first session, Betty made both of us feel comfortable and confident. She immediately recommended a no-pull harness that made a huge difference. Walking Buzz and his corgi brother, Phil, is finally fun again! I truly missed our morning walks, and it feels amazing to enjoy them again without constantly worrying about Buzz pulling away or Phil getting loose because my attention was elsewhere. What stood out most is that Betty doesn't just train dogs -- she trains their owners, too. She helped me learn how to communicate more clearly and understand what Buzz is feeling. Betty gave us exercises to build trust and confidence. He's already such a happy pup, but he lit up even more during each session, as you can see in his picture! You could tell how proud he was every time he got something right. The whole experience strengthened our bond even more, and I ended up enjoying training far more than I ever expected. Betty also gave us fantastic techniques to help Buzz stay calm when meeting new people, both out in public and at home. He's learned that his bed is his "safe spot," and now he'll go there on his own when guests arrive until he's ready to say hello. It's been such a big, wonderful change seeing him so much more relaxed and secure. We did three sessions at Canine PhD and three at home, which was the perfect balance. It gave us the chance to practice in both structured and real-life settings, and between sessions, we had Betty's helpful homework to reinforce what we were learning and keep us progressing even outside of training. The pricing was very reasonable and the value we got from the training far exceeded what we paid. What I appreciated most was Betty's honesty and empathy. She set realistic expectations right from the start, explaining that this wouldn't be a quick fix -- and she was right. Some dogs are just naturally more anxious, but she gave us the tools and confidence to help Buzz make real progress. I can't recommend Betty and Canine PhD enough! She's a wonderful person! Super patient, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in helping both dogs and their humans succeed. If you're looking for a trainer who truly understands behavior, builds trust, and brings out the best in you and your pup, Betty is the one to call!

What's the old saying, "better late than never?"…read more In 2005 I brought my 1-year old aggressive, non-social, Rottie/GS pup, Ruby, to Kate Jackson and Jabula to get her on the right track. I adopted Ruby from a local rescue when she was 6-months old and it was evident that the first few months before I met her were extremely traumatic. Our "meet and greet" went horribly, as she wouldn't let me close, it took me 15 minutes to get her in the car, and she bit me in return. However, there was something about her and I knew we belonged together. I had a contract job in Hawaii early in 2005 that was going to require me to be there for the better part of a month, and I thought that this would be the perfect time for Ruby to get some formal training since I was going to have make accommodations for her car while I was away. Upon finding out about Jabula's 2-week "all-inclusive" program (or whatever it was called back then), I was ecstatic that not only would she have a place to stay for two weeks with company and activity, but she would get the formal training she needed and deserved. It was going to be hard to leave her behind, but after meeting Kate I felt comfortable leaving Ruby under her care. While in Hawaii, Kate sent me emails and responded to my questions about Ruby's progress. I was excited to hear that she was adapting well and learning how to behave. I couldn't wait to come and see her. Once I got home and was able to pick her up, Kate went over all of the training they did (place, heel, come, etc) in an hour long session with us and the results were remarkable! She was still definitely an Alpha, but she wouldn't instigate any altercation, played well with other dogs, obeyed all commands, and was much, much better around strangers that previously she wouldn't dare go around. Ruby passed in 2015 but she was the best trained pup I've ever had, and Jabula was instrumental in making that happen.
