Dunwoody Pet Sitters knows our dog is frail and nervous- though they charge top dollar, we had hired them a few times to stay in our home, so they knew our dog's limitations. (Though Dunwoody Pet Sitters charges top dollar, we booked with them because we wanted our toy dog to stay in her home but we never felt the service was ideal; for example, a quilt was stained, towels dyed, etc. ) Fall 2013, we booked a two week trip with the mother, from DPS, a mother daughter business. The arrangement was the same as always, that she or her daughter would stay in our home. We made this booking 6 weeks before we left , and the mother understood & she agreed. A few weeks prior to our departure, we confirmed with her by phone that she was to stay in our home, with our dog . However the week of our trip- after air fare & hotels had been paid, this woman informed us they planned to change our understanding & board our 16 year old 4 pound dog in their home. They have animals, and they board other animals. Our old dog would have been VERY stressed and/or injured, since she can hardly walk!! Every animal lover can relate - We have responsibilities to our pets; they are helpless - especially as they age. We tried reasoning with the woman but she exhibited no sense of responsibility. She was unsympathetic. Actually cold. Our impression was that she did not care about the welfare of our old dog, nor did she care that she broke her word. After I cancelled , she even left an immature voice mail, indicating she had so many bookings she did not need our business . This woman needs to think about what it mans to keep her word.Thank God - we found someone a couple of days before we left for our trip. It was meant to be - the sitter was reliable; our pet was well cared for, and the sitter stayed in touch with us while we were away with informative texts. Furthermore, when we came home, we found our house in good shape, much more than we could say about Dunwoody pet Sitters. Do your research. You will find better services.

We LOVE PetMinders and our sitter Carly and strictly use them every time we need someone to look after our cats. Their booking process is easy and efficient and while they can't guarantee this all the time, we always get the same sitter. We also get adorable photos and updates after every visit, so we are completely at ease while we are away. And our cats are unbelievably shy, but they always come out to see Carly when she visits. I've been using them on and off for over two years for daytime walks for my 2 dogs and feeding and care for my two cats when we are away but decided to go for the in home pet sitting for 7 nights instead of boarding my dogs. It was a great experience. Ron is so caring. He sent a very detailed text each evening with pics of my dogs relaxing with him. He brought in all the mail, washed up the dishes from the cat food and left my apt spotless --even vacuumed! It was a stress free vacation knowing he was staying overnight with the dogs and stopping in once during the day. It was about the same cost as boarding two dogs and having a pet sitter come in to take care of the cats. I highly recommend these guys. They've been in business a long time.

Our 2 year old welsh terrier, Eleanor is a little high maintenance and it's tough for us to find places to keep her. We first started using Stephanie when we'd go out of town for the weekend instead of leaving our girl at a kennel. Steph hangs out with Eleanor around the house, plays with her, gives her treats, sends us pictures and videos and even lets her sleep in the bed! When we found out we had to move overseas and couldn't bring Eleanor over right away, she stayed with Stephanie for over a month. We love our girl so much and it would have been terrible to leave her at a kennel. Instead, we slept good knowing that she was with Stephanie. My fiance says I'm "obsessed with Eleanor's care" and he's probably right. I wouldn't leave her with anyone else in the world for such a long period of time. Stephanie is amazing!
