757 Auto Outlet - Proof of sale

757 Auto Outlet

Please do not purchase a car from these people. I am a college student at Old Dominion University…read moreand was rear ended in February of 2023. I do not have any family in the area and was tasked with purchasing a new vehicle after my accident. After looking for cars for a few weeks I got in contact with Manny at 757 Auto Outlet about a 2010 Volkswagen EOS on his lot, and shortly after I visited the shop to test drive the car. During the test drive I immediately noticed seemingly minor issues with the car: the overhead visor on the driver's side was damaged, the heat did not work, the glove box was missing a handle (it would not open), there was no windshield wiper fluid in the car, there was a spare key but no key fob (I had to manually open the car and when I did the car alarm would go off), and the backseat covers were extremely worn and cracked. I spoke with Manny about these issues and he fixed the overhead visor, and agreed to add the additional repairs including the heat and the glove box in our contract, but did refuse to have the backseat headrests replaced or a key fob programmed. I purchased the car for $7,000 the first week of June, and started experiencing issues with the car shortly after. I noticed the first issue with the car after filling it with windshield wiper fluid. There was a large hole in the wire preventing the liquid from spraying onto the windshield. Soon after repairing this error I noticed that my radiator had been filled with water rather than coolant, and that my oil had not been changed in what appeared to be a very long time. I contacted the shop, as well as Manny and his partner Tony individually multiple times about these issues in addition to setting up a date to repair the issues that they had legally taken responsibility for fixing and got no response. I paid to fix the new issues myself and to have a key fob programmed within the first week I purchased my car. The second week I began to experience difficulties switching gears and an ABS light appeared on my dash so I again, contacted Manny and his partner Tony multiple times to no avail. I called countless times and left voicemail after voicemail and nothing. My car continued to have problems and eventually stopped in the middle of an intersection on my way to work. After it was clear I was not going to get Manny or Tony on the phone I drove the car over to 757 Auto Outlet 3 separate times during their hours of operation and no one was there. It is now the fourth week of July. I took my car to the Volkswagen dealership about two weeks ago and they shared with me that the car would cost around $12,000 to repair. The issues with the car included: replacement transmission, brake pad & rotor replacements, wiper blade replacements, ignition switch replacement, upper radiator hose replacement, 4 replacement control arm bushings, an alignment with suspension repairs, and a flush kit & coolant replacement. The VOLKSWAGEN dealership offered me $300 for the car. In addition, I have still yet to receive my license plates, and was pulled over and given a ticket for driving with expired temporary plates. I have still been unable to get into contact with anyone at 757 Auto Outlet. Manny made it a point to express to me that I did not need to be weary of him as he was trustworthy and "not a sleazy car salesman", he went so far as to portray to me that he was doing me a favor by granting me a 90 day warranty on top of agreeing to fix my heat and glove box... He was aware that I was a college student who had only $7,000 to put towards a car with no family in the area. Manny is a sleazy car salesman who took complete advantage of me and sold me an unsafe car. This dealership is disgusting, they have no morals or regard for your safety or well being. Please do not make the same mistake I did, and please share this information with your friends and family.

Horrible car buying experience, Bought the car last year, Had to deal with 2500$ Worth of engine…read moreleaks , Replaced the valve cover gasket and a ton more. They told me none of this was covered in the warranty i paid for. Transmission went to shit within A month of driving the car. Also apparently not in warranty. I just drove it up to the dealership today and They are now telling me I shouldve called them and brought it in/ I tried telling Manny about it and he Shrugged it off and said it wasnt in warranty. Will never Return to this dealer! I highly advise you do the same!

I recently came here with my sister so she could buy a vehicle. We really enjoyed our sales guy…read moreRuddy. He was great to work with and made the experience very seamless. The only negative thing that I have to say about the experience is that I had asked when we sat down for the loan what percentage the rates started at. We were told they started at 5.25%. My sister has good credit so I wasn't expecting her payment to fall in a much higher percentage bucket. We were good with the price of the vehicle, and the warranty that she added on. However, and this is a big however, until we were signing the documents, did we see for the first time that the loan she was being given was at over 14% APR. This is absolutely ridiculous and unheard of for somebody who has good credit. We wasted no time going over to Navy Federal and securing her a proper loan at a reasonable rate. The amount that Carmax was trying to charge her in interest was more than half of what the vehicle cost with the add-ons. Let that sink in. Do not sign blindly and make sure you understand what you would be paying in interest. I highly recommend getting pre-approved elsewhere for a loan first and not using their financing. You have three days to get a loan elsewhere and have it changed over, but I would suggest making sure you're eligible before you go car broke. We didn't see any of that until half way through signing the contract. Kind of crazy!

Suggested Carmax to my best friend whom bought a Honda but her customer experience was terrible…read more The seller (Mike) didn't offer a test drive just kept emphasizing "well it's a honda". Didn't tell her about the 10 day return, didn't place a bow when she bought it. Very unsupportive despite the car being beautiful she decided to return it because the service was soo bad. He was suggesting her not to go through the process for self employed income, say it would take sooooo long. Denying this resulted in a very high interest rate. Mike thought bo one would ever return a Honda. Well surprise surprise mike. She now has a brand new Mazda, champagne service with a bow! and lower interest rate. CARMAX do better ! especially servicing women.

The car salesman had her test drive the car within 10 minutes of arriving. Alot of the cars there were hybrids. Which seems nice, but the batteries on hybrid cars are expensive to replace. For the Corolla it's about $6000. So I talked her out of it. It sounds great until you need one. There was only one car available with what she was looking for. They did have the option to build your car and wait a few weeks for it to be delivered. The salesman was nice, and it wasn't a haggling situation. He told us the price is the price, no negotiations. Which put us at ease. The sales aren't commission based, so we didn't feel pressured. The cars come with "free" oil changes and inspections. There are different packages like adding a clear coat to your car, an extended warranty for the engine and transmission, and coverage for dings. We went inside to do the paperwork. The inside is clean with a seating area that has a TV, and free coffee and water. In the past buying a car has taken 4-6 hours at other dealerships. But he had us in and out in about 3 hours. The transaction was pretty smooth. They cleaned the car up and filled it with gas, and we were on our way. I do wish we could have negotiated a 5-10% discount, but my daughter wasn't as pressed as I was. If you're military they offer some rebates. The Toyota's seem very reliable, good on gas, and trendy. The Highlander and Camry were really nice inside and out. If I purchase another car, I'd come back. Check them out!!!
