Super friendly service! The lady that helped us was very sweet! I will definitely return because of her! But not only that, some of the savory pastries we got were delicious. Only downfall is that we did get overcharged on a few items, we bought 24 items but got charged for 30 items. I didn't realized this until we were already 25 mins out on the road and looking over my receipt. The steam buns were very fresh, you can tell they were made the same day and that they were not old. Some of the pastries we got were still warm. I would prefer a little more protein filling in some of the savory puffs.

If you're looking for the perfect flaky not too sweet Hong Kong egg tart, look no further! They have amazing baked goods in general but the egg tarts are the best in town! Love this little spot!

Got mostly one of everything I usually get

I really wanted to like this place. I am a Chinese immigrant and I am visiting the area for a month. I always try to look for authentic Chinese food. I purchased one of everything that I usually get. The steamed BBQ pork bun was inedible. The filling had a very strange taste. The bread was grainy. The baked BBQ pork bun had different filling and it was better than the steamed one. But it was still not good. The bread was not sweet and fluffy. It was just bland and dry. The wife cakes were the best out of the bunch. Even though they are a bit rustic looking and the skin was not the usual flaky layering. More of a cookie dough wrapping than the traditional wife cakes. But the flavor was good so I did enjoy them. The egg custard was dense and was very jelly like in consists. The crust was good, but I would not get it again. The sesame ball was good except for the lotus seed filling. Not sure what it was, but the flavor was not right on it. The pineapple bun looked good but the bread was not good. It had a very strange texture and the filling looked and tasted very similar to the egg tart filling. Not good at all. The gai mai boa was bland. The bread was dense, not fluffy and sweet like it should be. The filling was ok. But I ended up not eating it all. It didn't taste good together. The bak tong gou was ok. A little thin and overly oily but the flavor was good. The hot dog bun was the best of the bunch items. The bread was a good ratio to the hot dog. But the bread was still a bit bland. But still edible. The cha siu was flavorful but over cooked. So it was dry. The crispy pork was over cooked and dry. The flavor wasn't bad. A little on the salty side. This really was a disappointment. I hate having to leave this review for a small family owned business. But it wouldn't be fair to rave about very mediocre tastes. I didn't want to give just one star. But I couldn't in good conscience leave more than two.

Great little bakery. They bake everything fresh everyday and even carry a few dim sum items along with roast pork, roast duck and bbq pork. Kids love the steamed custard buns and egg tarts every time we come to federal this bakery is a must stop.

When ever I'm in the area, this spot is definitely the place to hit up. When we have visitors from out of town, we usually hit up this spot to grab snacks for our guests on the way back from the airport. Our usual favorites to swallow: SESAME BALLS: Hands down, this is our favorite thing here. We usually call ahead and order it by the dozen so that they are hot and fresh. They are perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. EGG TARTS: great flavors and the pastry is light and fluffy. I usually pick up other thing like the steamed sponge cake, pork buns or whatever else I'm in the middle when I go to the counter. I've been pretty pleased with everything they put out. Definitely peep them out.

This place is still perfect for a quick pick-me-up. If you're craving a specific dim sum dish or Chinese baked good, this is where to go get it. Since it was never a sit-down place anyway, this business is operating pretty much the same as it was before. They just added some plexiglass and tape on the floor to mark how far to stand in line. They'll ask you for your order and you just take it with you in a box. I come here for my classic favorites -- the cha siu bao (BBQ Pork Bun) and dan tat (egg tart). This bakery was actually recommended to me for its fresh BBQ pork cuts, so you know that's always gonna be a good choice. The dan tat is so soft and sweet and fluffy, you'll probably want to order more than just one even though they come in quite a decent size. The only thing I wish I did was reheat the goods before devouring them. I don't know if it would have been warm and fresh had I come here first thing in the morning, like it is in Hong Kong. But either way, still a great pick-me-up!

    Fried Breadstick Chao Quay

I stopped by this hidden gem needing some bread for my soup. It's located in the Far East Center off of Federal. I stopped in to pick up some chao quay (fried bread sticks) on my way home to go along with some soup my mother made me. Well, I didn't get far before I reached into the bag and touched the light, fluffy goodness that was chao quay. I don't even know how I made it all the way home before eating all 6 little loaves. They're perfect! They're soft, every-so-slightly sweet, and there's little air pockets throughout that made it perfect for my chicken soup. I will definitely be supporting this local gem.

I was on the hunt for a Chinese bakery in Denver. I know this isn't New York or San Franciso. But I really wanted one - and I drove from my little bubble to find it here. Things to Note: 1) Bakery, Chinese BBQ Joint, and Misc stuff. 2) Items are cold - so the steamed BBQ Pork buns needs to be resteamed 3) Egg Tarts are decent 4) Dim Sum like Haw Guaz are overpriced at .80c a piece. Past 5) Delicious Red Bean Sesame Balls 6) Lots of Opinions CASH ONLY. This place is decent for the second generation Chinese-American in me wanting a fix, but keep your expectations in check b/c it will not be the best you have ever had.

This Westcoast gal transplant loves this place and love that it is a ons-stop shop, if you will, offering baked goods, Chinese BBQ and deli items. They have all the Chinese bakery delights my family and I enjoy the most, especially the sweet rice cake that I affectionately and lovingly slap my husband with -a tradition that began when were young teen lovers traversing and exploring the food world together. I feel at home here. The high pitched tender chatter back and forth from the store owner and customers is bliss for me. I'm so glad i came upon this place as often being in an unfamiliar place, I can feel lost and alone. The sense of community is strong in this place though small and humble it is loaded with goodness. I love just being able to stop in, choose a few items like the rice cakes, shumai, shrimp dumplings, a pound of roast pork and a pound of roast duck then be on my merry way. My tummy always speaks aloud whenever I walk in so i always leave with a bit more than I intended.

    MOLD!!!

I suspect that the food sold at this store has been sitting for several days. These white sugar cakes are all moldy less than 24 hours since I purchased them from the store. My friends and I will never visit again.

The Eggs Benedict on a croissant stood out, and you can tell they take their baking seriously. Their "Queens" (their version of a kouign-amann) are especially worth trying. They also use high quality, locally sourced ingredients, and it shows in the flavor. Go for the cake, but definitely stay for more.

I had it saved but couldn't quite remember why...until we turned the corner and saw a line out the door around noon on a Sunday. Normally that might be a dealbreaker, but once we saw the food coming out, we were all in, it looked way too good to pass up. The menu is stacked: everything from sweet pastries to savory sandwiches and even pizzas on what looked like fresh, fluffy focaccia. I went with the prosciutto sandwich (prosciutto, cheese, pesto on focaccia), and it was incredible--simple, fresh, and packed with flavor. My girlfriend had the ham sandwich on a baguette, which was just as good. We were also tempted by the turkey and some seasonal options, so we'll definitely be back to try more. We couldn't leave without grabbing a couple pastries. The almond croissant was a hit (my girlfriend saved it for the next morning and loved it), and the standout for me was the cinnamon white chocolate cookie--kind of like a snickerdoodle but with white chocolate chips. Easily a top tier cookie. Between the quality, variety, and how clearly everything is made with care, this place jumped straight to the top of my list. Worth the wait, worth the hype, and absolutely worth a return trip.

I sure was one of them today as when I stepped in it was past 2pm. What I had in mind was (of course) all gone which forced me to go some alternative option. I hence ended up with one of the vanilla custard buns and the gouda baguettes. Did I regret? Nope, it is quite the opposite of it. The vanilla custard bun was simply the right size for me (I not too long ago had just had my late breakfast so I was still quite full from it.) Perfectly brown on some of the custard on top. This Portuguese style dessert is a staple at any bakery or dessert shop. It's moist and yet the flaky out layers made the perfect sound as I bit into it. As of this writing, I haven't had the baguette yet but I can only imagine how delicious it would be (as the kind lady upfront was telling other customer that.) For a great business like GetRight's, I do the drive to get to it from my southeast Denver home. It's my utmost duty to support them.

For the meals: - hash (corned beef is perfectly cooked and it's a nice sized portion with a runny poached egg on top and hollandaise over a crispy/well-seasoned Rösti - very good but a little on the heavy side for me) - benny (loved the flavors of this one and that duck confit was so flavorful and tender. Also, loved the bright, refreshing salad it comes with) - veggie omelet (I didn't try this one, but my brother in law said it was a great, traditional omelet - nice and cheesy) - stuffed French toast (WOWWWW - no notes. It was sublime. The passionfruit stuffing was to die for and it comes with a candied honeycomb. Not something I normally order, but we split it for the table and everyone wanted another one it was so good!) The sourdough baguette is perfect and has little flakes of sea salt on the crust. I could eat a thousand of these, they were the clear winner for us. - Sunflower Sourdough: Good, but not amazing. Though I might be biased because I make sourdough at home. It has a great sour flavor, but after three days the crust got so hard it hurt your mouth to eat. If you plan to use the bread within a couple of days, I'd recommend trying it. - Santiago's Flourless Tart: The perfect amount of sweetness with hints of lemon, vanilla, and almond. It was incredibly moist and delicious--I'd come back just for this. Reunion Bakery is located in the Source Food Hall in RiNo but will be moving to South Pearl Street at the end of the month. Reunion Bakery is a MUST-visit.

I continually eye Reunion Bread when I'm at The Source in RiNo. Perfect, flaky croissants along with their breads-tried the banana bread and it was to die for. Their crème puffs are out of this world, however they only had Nutella filling, which I am not a fan of, so I had it unfilled and it was a delight! Service is always friendly. Get there earlier in the day as everything sells out quickly! Sadly, I do believe they are moving out of their current spot, which is a little crammed, so I will just have to visit at their new locale- tbd!

YOU HAD ME AT PIE I…read moredrove 1 hour and 22 minutes to meet a friend here and it was worth the time and price of gas! SERIOUSLY! Don't underestimate PIE...LEGACY PIE as a reward for yourself no matter how far you need to drive to get there!! Do I have pictures? Sadly no. I gobbled my cherry hand pie down so fast that my Grandma Lucile would have chastised me for my rude behavior! My friend ordered the chicken pot pie and it looked so yummy I bought one to take home to my husband. I enjoyed the curry hand pie and boy - what a fantastic flavor in pie crust! Double Yum! My only regret today is I didn't buy a few more mini pies to take home to my freezer! Way to go small business! #pieisawayoflife PS The store is very cute and decorated with fun little gifts or treats you could make as a hostess gift when you stop to get a pie to bring for dessert. #DontwalkRUN!

I tried the hot and read buffalo chicken sandwich, and the pork green chile. I thought both were good. Definitely more emphasis on the bread in these than you would get somewhere else, but that is to be expected with it being a pie shop. I liked the pork a little bit more. They were more filling than I expected but also I didn't think about how much bread there was until after. Also got the key lime pie for dessert later in the day which I loved. Good amount of whipped cream, and had great flavor. Not too crumbly on the crust either. And finally I did get the take and bake chicken pot pie. Which I thought was excellent. Fair value for the size, I think. The large got me 3 meals but probably could have stretched it to 4. But it was so good that I just kept eating more. Had good amounts of chicken in it and good ratio with the veggies. I would definitely return here. Would definitely get the pot pies and key lime pie again. I wouldn't go out of my way to get them, but if I was in the area and needing something quick and easy to eat, I would get 1 of the hot and ready sandwiches too - I thought they were fairly priced too.
