My sister and I were greeted immediately and had both our pedis and manis done at the same time. The ladies were very respectful, sweet, and diligent. Mai did my manicure and she was awesome! She made sure to update me with the price since I asked for a few different things throughout the appointment; I really appreciated her professionalism. Clearly caught them on a bad day, but unfortunately it cost me my nails. Just moved to the area and was looking for a new salon. Found them on Google, called ahead, and was told to come in at 3 for SNS. I arrived at 3:10 on a Sunday to a nearly empty salon, which was surprising for a weekend. The front desk lady asked what I wanted and called across the salon to a young man who was working on nail decals solo. He visibly did not want to stop what he was doing. With only two people in the shop, someone had to help me, and that fell on him. While he finished up, the front desk lady was actually sweet about the service. She brought over colors and even suggested a fun option: a clear SNS base with gel polish on top for a jelly color effect. I loved the idea and agreed. When he was ready, he held his hands out without a word and got to work. No greeting, no conversation. He soaked my nails in what I can only describe as boiling water before filing everything off, which was genuinely painful. When I mentioned the jelly color technique the lady suggested, he said it wasn't possible, started doing my nails anyway, and never explained further. The paint job was rough. It looked like I did it myself with my non dominant hand. The whole service felt rushed despite the salon being practically empty, which made it more frustrating given that I called ahead specifically to be considerate of their time. Five days later my nails are destroyed. The SNS has cracked on most fingers and taken chunks of my actual nails with it. The gel polish is flaking off. Press ons would have held up better. Would not recommend for walk ins. If you go, make sure you have a dedicated nail tech you trust. read more

I remembered this nail shop from a few years back, and I had a pleasant experience, so I decided to come back. I came three weeks ago, and it wasn't good, but I wanted to give them a third try to see if it was just an off day or if the infractions were consistent, and unfortunately they were. Most of my issues are with the cleanliness of this shop. At first glance, it appears clean, but once you settle in, you start to see all of the things. The tables are dusty. The massage chairs are old and stained. When I came a few weeks ago, the bathrooms were full of tools and hardware, both on the floor and on the sink. I literally had to step over things. When I came today, there was water all over the floor from one of the pedicure chairs. My nail tech had to move me to a different area. Even though she changed the tub lining, there was something floating in the tub. There was also a candy wrapper on the table. It was just nasty and I felt icky. They don't use fresh tools out of the pack, either. Although the staff is friendly, the work is not the best. My big toenails were cut on a slant and the nail tech polished them quite sloppily, but I think she was rushing to help another walk in customer. I noticed that they just kept sitting people at the pedicure seats even though they were short staffed. One customer even got up and asked for a towel so that she could leave. They just left her sitting there with the false hope that someone was coming for her. The lady that did my nails was having a phone conversation on speaker with for the first 10 minutes of my appointment. I don't mind a quick call, but that was excessive and I can't relax and enjoy my time like that. On top of that, I got acrylic and a gel manicure last time and it was about 134 with tip. This time, I got a regular pedicure and sns, which was about 120 with tip. I don't think those two appointments should be close in price--I just got regular polish and sns. Overall, I do not recommend this place and I won't be coming back. They did mention that they were under new management, so maybe it'll get better over time. read more

I had an appointment with Tom today at 2 PM. While I was on my way, he texted asking if I could come at 3 PM instead. Since I live 40 minutes away, I told him no, but mentioned I could start with my feet first to help him save a little time. He never responded. When I arrived at the salon, he didn't greet me or even look my way, but I assumed he was just busy finishing up his previous client. I waited about 15 minutes before a lady came to do my toes. Once she finished, she told me Tom would be with me shortly by this point, it was already 3:15 PM. I continued to wait, still with no communication from Tom. Around 3:40 PM, another lady started putting tips on my nails, and she mentioned he'd be done "in two minutes." I waited patiently, but by 4 PM, still nothing. No updates, no apology, nothing. I had arranged for a babysitter and I'm leaving town tomorrow, so at that point, I couldn't wait any longer. I asked the lady to remove the tips so I could leave. I was beyond frustrated and honestly wanted to cry I'm not someone who usually complains, but I felt completely disrespected and taken advantage of. The lady asked if I wanted someone else to do my nails, but I declined. I had been waiting two hours, and if I wanted "just anyone," I wouldn't have booked with Tom. I had a detailed design in mind for my trip it's my husband's birthday, and I wanted my nails to look great so this was really disappointing. She offered to reschedule me for 20% off, but that's the same promotion the salon already has, so it didn't feel like a genuine apology. I work in the beauty industry, and I understand things happen but if you know you're running that far behind, it's inconsiderate to keep overbooking clients. I could've easily gone somewhere else if I had been told the truth. Now I'm left with no time to get my nails done before my trip, and they didn't even offer a discount on my toes, which would've been the bare minimum. If this were my client, I would've done the service for free because making someone wait two hours without a word of communication is completely unprofessional. The nail salon entrance is on North Highland, however the parking garage entrance is off of Blue Ridge Ave NE. I recommend parking in the garage since the business currently validates parking. The salon is open 7 days and accepts walk in customers. When I arrived on a Tuesday afternoon there was only one customer waiting for her polish to drive, I was greeted right away by the employees and walked to a chair. The shop and chairs were clean and tastefully decorated with lots of natural light. I received the Celestial Pedicure $60 and Enchanting Manicure $20. The Celestial Pedicure is a volcanospa 5 step single use spa in a box: crystal detox, sugar exfoliation, mud mask, paraffin wax, and lotion. I also received a travel size collagen lotion to maintain the pedicure, my feet stayed soft and pedicure still looks great a month later. The manicure was so-so and I should have passed since I'm a nail biter, I think the tech forgot to apply clear polish.   The nail tech did an amazing job, my feet looked great! I was really looking forward to a relaxing spa day, however the tech talked a lot, some of the conversation was not relaxing topics. I didn't say anything because the topics were issues I'm concerned with but I believe there is a time and place. I will try the spa again because the service was good, and it's clean, and the tech did a great job but I will insist on a quiet experience if the tech engages in conversation. read more

The staff was great and friendly. They offered drinks, they have soda and wine and water but I opted for a Diet Coke. All in all, it was a great experience. I don't usually leave reviews, but this was the best customer service I've ever received in my life, anywhere! And the most meticulous mani pedi, too!! Please visit this salon. You will enjoy the experience, plus they are offering 20% off all services through December! My girlfriend and I decided to get our nails done on a whim on a Thursday night after a stressful day. Celeste had no wait and immediately took us in for manis (gel for me) and pedicures. They even offered complimentary wine, champagne, or soda (along with mints and a range of snacks?!). The atmosphere and equipment is brand new, sparkling clean, and beautifully decorated with lovely murals. The hygiene standards are very high, too, which is always important. And everyone was wearing masks, which was lovely. My gf and I splurged on the fancy celestial pedicures ($60), which included a lengthy scrub and massage, hot towel wrap on the legs, and hot wax on the feet. I literally have new feet now. Mindy did my pedicure and was amazing-- thank you, Mindy!! The gel mani ($45) was also amazing. Wendy did my manicure and she was such a perfectionist about it, which I love. She actually painted and UV cured each nail one by one. The gel mani included a collagen glove soak, which was lovely. I had some horribly dry & rough skin on my hands from the changing weather and it's completely gone now. And Wendy did what is, for me, the hallmark of a great and long-lasting gel mani: she filed under and on the edges of the nails after they were done to make sure the gel coat was smooth and chip-/peel-proof. Thank you, Wendy!! Excellent mani pedi aside, everyone was so friendly and the ladies were cracking jokes and having fun the whole time. They made sure my massage chair was constantly running on my favorite setting and even leaned my chair back when they saw I was getting a little sleepy. Came in on a Tuesday to get an acrylic full set with gel, By Thursday my nails were lifting (one popped completely off), chipped and clearly just poorly done. Very thick, very a mess! I tried to communicate with salon my problems and they said i needed to pay for the mistakes. I will never EVER be returning to this salon due to the lack of quality work and overall experience. The older lady asked can she help me when I came in and asked me what I wanted to get done I told her 2 nail repairs she said ummm we are busy. I said no one is in here but 1 person (who was preparing to leave) and another lady who was getting a pedicure and her nails done at the same time how are you busy. She said yea we just can't do so I asked again why not she said no one do nails here. (I can't make this up!!!!) I said so it's a nail shop and no one do nails she said no I said but she's getting her feet done and her nails and no one can do 2 repairs she walked off to the counter and began helping the lady who was leaving. I don't know if it was because I was black or they just didn't think their time was worth 2nail repairs but it was rude and ridiculous. I really wish it would allow me to upload this photo and video 5 nail stations 4 chairs per station and only 1 Caucasian female is sitting down. That's NINETEEN chairs that's available and I was turned away and told no one do nails here smh RACIST is still very much alive!!!!! They provided beverages and had a lot of add on options for their pedicures which made it a very relaxing experience. I got a set of acrylic nails and they are some of the best I've ever gotten. After my experience at this salon I will never trust reviews anymore. I have never had a worst experience in a nail salon before I went to Celeste Nail. I went around 6ish on a Monday and from the start I knew it was going to be a terrible experience. The tools and soaking tub they use is just terrible and dollar store like. I did a SNS manicure and the nails lasted about 4 days before my nails started breaking, cracking, etc. I typically get about 2-3 weeks with SNS nails, but at Celeste your lucky if you get a solid 5 days. She layered it thin at first I had to ask for her to fix it, it took forever and I was the last person in the salon. Then as they were finishing up a homeless man walks in and sits down in the front. They ask me if the man is with me which he clearly is not. He started talking/yelling really inappropriate things but then left. Minutes later I am obviously scared and feeling unsafe to leave they pretty much force me to leave and head in the direction where the man walked off. I pass him on the sidewalk as I'm walking to my car and he proceeded to chase me. I felt so unsafe so scared and had the worst nail experience of my life. To top it off the nails looked horrific.
