I recommend this nail salon because the wait was not long as a walk in even though it looked busy, the nails turned out fabulous, and the price was fair. Thu was great and made sure my nails were shaped right. It was $65 for the set which is well worth it to me. I will be returning and telling my friends! Edit: I think it's been about 2 weeks ish and there was significant lifting along with a couple of the nails coming off. First I walked in and they say they couldn't just fix one nail they needed to do the whole hand. I said okay. Then the lady drills into my skin and I'm bleeding constantly. She then proceeds to try to do my nails and I say no I just want them cleaned. She does not clean at all or shape my nails or at least make my nail beds look nice after removing my previous gel x nails then charges me $15! I go up to the front and the man says $10 and at that point I don't want to argue. But I'm leaving with a bandaid around one of my fingers still bleeding and the other nails look like I just ripped the gel x off my nails. It was overall a horrible experience and I will never go back. read more

I've visited Midtown Nail a few times now as they're a provider available via Classpass and I've really enjoyed my experiences! Located near PCM in a busy plaza, Midtown Nail is truly in a prime location. There's a huge parking lot with a number of spaces available. If you're lucky, you may even get a spot closer to the building to avoid the stroll from the back of the lot to the salon. Booking via Classpass was a breeze and they offer a gel mani, luxury pedi and SNS options for under 22 credits each, which is a great deal if you have a subscription plan. So for me, it's always so great knowing I can get a great experience for a portion of my credits. My last visit was my best so far. I scheduled a luxury pedicure (+ gel) and a gel mani back to back. I was actually running a few minutes behind because I was starvinggg and needed to make a quick stop at Whole Foods, so I called in and the gentleman that answered was so kind and told me to take my time. I arrived about 8 minutes behind on a Saturday afternoon and phew! It was packed in there! I was welcomed in by the gentleman I spoke to on the phone, an older guy who I feel may have been one of the owners. He was so sweet! I was about to check in and he assisted me after I clearly didn't read the sign that was right out front stating that there was a special classpass check-in, smh. I totally forgot about that. He then pointed me to the nail shades and came over to confirm my Classpass attendance while just being a total sweetheart. I was quickly seated at one of the few open pedicure chairs as the nail tech replaced the liner for me. I got comfy and was given the wifi so I could watch a show on my iPad as I relaxed - modern comforts. I was so happy when another nail tech popped up to do my mani, I love when salons allow/have the capacity to do two services at once so I can get out sooner. Throughout the service, both nail techs were amazing. I asked the manicurist to be sure to clean up some extra paint on my cuticles, but that's always a big focus of mine that I don't like to be missed because it shows! He fixed it and I walked out with an exceptional manicure and a phenomenal pedi. With my gel upgrade, gel removal on my toes and a tip for both techs, I paid $40 which still felt like a steal. I never had any issues before today.....services was so good that i didn't have a favorite all did a great job till today she decided I have to wear my nails just like she is used to do others and disregard my comment about the base she decided to put on my French so even when I told her she assured me she it was going to look good at the end I got what she wanted and paid for wherever she decided too.,sorry but you have to listen to what the customer want not what you are used to do to others. It's ok I'm just one customers of a thousand you have already. But heads up to the ones that need an honest review. I went in for a pedicure with a friend and the entire appointment was rushed. She put the polish on so fast it didn't have time to dry and was goopy, and it got messed up as soon as I got up to walk to the nail dryer station. Of coShe cut all my toenails rounded off at the corners and didn't even use nail clippers to do it--she used the cuticle cutters. One spot on my toe started bleeding because she cut so far down. I also have the start of 3 in-grown toenails now because she rounded out the edges so much and cut so far down. I could have done a better job with a nail file. So disappointed I paid so much for a shitty pedicure. She was more concerned with getting the service over with than with the quality of the work. N A I L S The guy who did my nails, Stephen, did them really well or so I thought. They were thick and seemed strong but a simple leg slap during a laugh a few days later left my pinky broken and bleeding. Another nail broke soon after. I came in to just get them taken off because they wanted to charge me for a new set after just a few days. Then I requested a take off with manicure and they tried to upcharge me again when the manicure was never given. My nails looked horrible upon leaving but I was just happy to have the acrylic off. (No extensions) When getting a pedicure, which was actually good and left my feet soft, the nail artist cut me twice. And pretended like he didn't see it bleeding lol. No bandaid offered. The toes looked nice afterwards and there was a place to sit while they dry or use the fast drying spray. S E R V I C E The manager? Owner? Who is always parked at the front is rude and argumentative. He refused to accept that my nails broke within days of getting them done and didn't want to fix them. Also, When I attempted to take pictures for Yelp he made a big deal of it. A M B I E N C E I initially came here because my cousin told me it was her favorite spot in the city. Literally never knew about this place before some friends wanted to get their nails done. This location is located on the second level of the same plaza that has TJ Maxx and Whole Foods right across from Ponce. I never noticed it at all. They share parking with the many stores in the plaza, so parking was hard to come by on a Saturday afternoon but manageable. I did like how their website gives prices so you aren't blindsided like at other places. I was greeted immediately when I walked in and you're asked to sign-in on their device. Pretty simple entering your phone number to be added to their reward system (for frequent goers) and selecting what service you wanted. I liked this a lot so everyone knew what I wanted. I wanted a gel manicure and I was then shown where to select gel polishes from. There are a lottt of options, but I usually get the same colors and know the names vs some obscure number given by that salon. I was able to tell them the names and that was rather easy. My gel manicure took literally less than 30 mins by the time I was seated. They were super quick. Quality for me was rather okay. The color was done well, but the details were lacking. All nail salons push back cuticles to ensure they don't paint over them. This salon pushed mine back, but didn't paint close enough to the cuticle for me at least. Leaving the salon, it looks like my nails were done a week ago as the nails look grown out. Also, they shaped them poorly and I had rather sharp portions of my nail compared to a nice rounded shape. I had to come home and fix this myself. The gel manicure was $32 and with tip, I ended up spending $39. Alright, but I'm still looking for another place. read more

Went to get a manicure today for my birthday. The manicure started off fine, the nail stylist was trying to find a better color match to the color I wanted (my match wasn't close enough), and just being helpful. So at the start of the manicure, I was thinking that the effort to get me what I wanted was so sweet. (Spoiler alert: the color did not at all match what I wanted. I wanted a magenta and ended up with a wine red but I would have forgiven that. Nail colors can be tricky.) Then things went... bad. About halfway through the manicure, I was asked if I liked the shape of my nails. I responded by requesting that my nails be made thinner because they were way too thick (and I know we've all been there- thick nails are clunky and ugly). Immediately, I could tell my nail tech wasn't pleased. She tried to tell me that they were fine, not too thick, but I insisted- I wanted them thinner. So she starts thinning them, and what had been a pleasant, careful manicure suddenly turns rough as heck. I mean, my hands were going throoooooough it. I just don't think that's a coincidence!!!! Like okay, don't take out your frustration on my hands, please, I need those! And then, as she's absolutely wrecking the skin around my nails, she tells me that next time, if I want thin nails, I need to ask up front for thin nails. First of all- wtf? Second of all- I didn't want thin nails. I wanted not fat as hell nails. Shouldn't be a big request to want normal nails, but OKAY. I wasn't going to argue with this lady so I just got through the rest of the appointment as quickly as possible. Anyway. Don't go here. Prices might be good, but the quality of your nails is... not. I'm already planning on going somewhere else to get these fixed. And the service just... stinks. I was shut down as soon as I said what I wanted, and then my manicure got rough (the skin around my nails is literally burning even now, almost an hour later). And after all that, I still ended up with nails I don't like. Update: the more I sit here and look at my nails, the more irritated I get. They don't go all the way down on the sides, my thumbs are drastically uneven (which I pointed out at the time), and I swear to god there's so much god damn color on my hands. Most of the technicians do a great job obviously it varies slightly per person but they definitely listen to what you want and make you comfortable. I've done gel, S&S and tips and been going here a few months and haven't had any problems. The girls are very sweet, the chairs are comfortable and work properly, only thing I would say would be a nice addition is to have pillows for under your arm when they work on the one that is not closest to them. One thing to remember is that they do not except tips on your credit card so you must get cash before hand to tip properly. My first visit here was wonderful. I initially tried to make an appointment online, but never received a confirmation notice. I decided to go in anyways and so a walk-in. It was a Tuesday around 2pm and they were able to get me started right away. Which is always a plus . I requested holographic nails on an acrylic set, which was vaguely listed on their website, but turned out to be exactly what I wanted. They had many pretty gel color but I opted for a classic silver holo shade. My nail tech Halina was amazing and he attention to detail was stellar. She put a lot of time and effort into the shaping and sanding of my acrylics so shapes turned out near perfect. She was very sweet and made sure i was okay when the sander caught some of my nail bed skin. I also have clammy hands like 24/7 which I am a bit self-conscious about but she made me feel better and even turned on some fans near the seat for me. What I got: A full set acrylic, with holographic gel in a silver color (named something like Stellar Stars) in a coffin shape. Charged $45 for this set. read more

The owner/manager was pretty aggressive...lol She asked me what color I said white then picked out what seemed to be white. She said that's not white & kind of wanted to go back & forth about it lol okayyy show me then...she picked out another white..lol But I believe this was just her way and she didn't really mean anything about it. Phillip did my nails and he did them well as they are short & brittle. He did a great job. The only thing was he turned off my massager chair without saying anything so he would not mess up my nails...next time say something & then turn it back on, the massage chair is part of the experience. Linda did my feet, she was very gentle, gave a good foot massage. The only thing is that I had to reapply lotion to feet afterwards, like they were ashy 10 minutes after I finished, is the water hard or is the lotion product they use not good? But my polish looked great! Oh & they only except cash tips! I did not have cash but guess what...THEY HAVE AN ATM in the lobby ..which they pointed me towards. They were quick and the atmosphere was good. The bathroom was very clean which I appreciate. I've been here three times now, and it's safe to say I really like this place. The shop is a nice size. They have a great color assortment, lots of nail techs and at least 10 pedicure chairs. They also offer waxing/lash services. Each time I've come, it's been a Friday and the lobby is pretty full, but I've never waited more than 10 minutes to be seated. (Even on Christmas Eve!) They have complimentary water, drinks and snacks while you wait. The shop doesn't have that super overpowering chemical smell that makes me leave with a headache either. Of the three technicians I've had, Seam been the BEST. She is so concise and detailed. She treats every.single.finger like she wants it to be absolutely perfect. She asked if I wanted my nails the same shape, did I want them cut down, "does this hurt honey?". I didn't have a single "OW!" moment with her. There have been many times I've gotten a manicure and, my cuticles still don't look smooth, and I've had to clean them up myself at home. A lot of techs rush through and just snip/pull really fast, leaving jagged lines. Sometimes, I've even had techs make me bleed. But not Seam. She does nice, clean snips. She laughs and smiles and jokes with her coworkers and makes you feel at ease. She doesn't have that "I'm annoyed to be at work/you're inconveniencing me by being here" vibe- we've all probably felt at other shops. I'm not much of a talker (especially after a long day at work) but she made me chuckle. She gave me one of the most perfect manicures I have ever gotten in my life. I've also had Nancy and she was really good too! The only con I can think of, and it's completely not their fault is that the parking lot in this area is usually JAM PACKED so you may have to park a little ways away. read more

I was in town for new years and needed to get my nails sone. After reading some reviews I decided to go here. I went here on a Friday and they opened at 10 and I was there at 1015. They had a ton of techs which was great I didn't have to wait. I got a full set and I have to say that this stiletto shape was the best stiletto shape ever. I am still obsessed with it! Perfectly pointy. I love them. My tech did a phenomenal job! It was $50 (gel polish on acrylic) which is reasonable. I ended up also getting a spa pedicure with my friend and that was abut $35...not bad either. My feet are super soft and I love them! I would definitely come her again. Been here a few times and always receive different service. They are always kind but the service changed based on who you happen to get that day. This particular day left a lot to be desired. They made us pay before we were done with our service which we never had to do before and was inconvenient as we were both letting our manicures dry while they were still working on our feet. So having us reach into our wallets with wet nails felt a little counter intuitive. My wife got an amazing hand and forearm massage with her manicure while I did not even though we paid for the same type of manicure. I initially picked out a color for my nails and they made me pick 4 different colors because theres was a problem with the ones i kept choosing even though they would not explain to me what the issue was. I finally choose a color but after all that confusion they ended up giving me a regular manicure not a gel one. Im so rough with my hands i would never ever choose regular polish as it doesn't last. Finally, we wanted to tip via cash app since they made my wife pay in the middle of service we did not add a tip. They made us send individual cash app to all 4 people who serviced us. It would have been more convenient to cash app one person and then have the coworkers send it to each other or they could have let us just pay at the end so we could tip with the original payment. I have patronized this location several times... And have had to come back more times to have my nails redone... due to poor quality of work. My gel nails lifted a lot, and my nails were filed too thin making my nail beds flimsy and painful. So I started getting SNS nails to see if this would be a good solution to lifting and less filing. I was wrong....the first time I had them done I had to come back two days later due to extreme lifting, I took a break... the next time I got them done was just recently.... they were done so sloppily it looked as if I had done them myself....not to mention the extreme lifting after 48 hours. I came back,.... had them redone and the next day one of my nails cracked in half, needless to say I will not be back...it's just people's care and quality has gone down. I've been coming to this salon for almost 20 years. They're located in a shopping center that has many other business's I frequent: Whole Foods, Home Depot, Wells Fargo, GNC, Starbucks, CVS & Petsmart. The gel polish I get done here never, ever lifts, even if i wait entirely too long to have it redone. It has amazing staying power. I wash my hands a lot for work so my hands are wet often and it still stays very intact. I don't know what they do differently but its noticeable. In the instances where I have to have gel polish done somewhere else, like when I'm traveling, they always comment how great a job the previous place (here) did. They have a large staff, many work stations and they're fast too. All around great experience! read more

Today's visit felt a lot like that Seinfeld episode where Elaine goes to the nail salon. I just knew the nail tech was saying stuff about me to the male tech next to her, right from the moment she saw me but I can't prove it since I don't know the language. When asked about the type of pedicure I wanted - I chose basic. She was full of fake smiles and a look that said 'Of course, you would choose basic, you cheapskate'. She rushed through the whole thing and when I was done, the folks who were in the salon before I got there were still having their pedicures worked on - and I am very sure they had the basic pedicures as well. I've actually been here a couple times before and it was about the same (experience wise) When I came here for the first time, I'm so glad that I got paired with Tiffiny. I will never go to anyone else. Based on other reviews, seems like everyone else rushes their work. I've done gel nails every time and she does an amazing job with the shape and takes her time to perfect the coverage. Some places/technicians rush and the amount of nail polish coverage on the nail is uneven and that irks me but Tiffiny really takes her time to make it look good. I really appreciate that! She makes small talk but doesn't overly talk your ear off haha. She gives you a mini shoulder massage as well as a mini hand lotion massage. Pros of the place: good color selection, the smell of fumes is pretty low, price is good compared to places that I've been on Highland Ave, clean working area, looks like they use clean tools as well Cons: my only con and one that bothers me is he guy who runs the front desk. I went to this establishment today for the 3rd time. It is usually out of necessity to get my nails done not because I think they do an awesome job. Well, today was ridiculous and I will never go back. The woman doing my nails CUT me and then put her finger on my cuticles to stop the bleeding. It was so unsanitary and when the other woman saw what happened they all started laughing. This was not a small cut either she took a chunk out of finger and I had a heartbeat in my finger.
