FIVE STAR SERVICE AT SUCH AN AFFORDABLE PRICE! My mom and I came to Cedar Creek for a weekend getaway.The entire staff (especially the ROCKSTAR Stephanie) were kind and helpful and welcoming. There is so much to do there, between swimming, hiking, golfing, and fishing -- or even just relaxing by the pool with a great book. The rooms are immaculately clean and so comfortable; the beds are like actually sleeping on a cloud. Make sure you get a golf cart. It's the perfect addition to exploring the grounds and making you feel fancy dancy along the way. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and perfect to enjoy on the massive sundeck at Town Hall. We were so sad to leave, and I am already planning my next trip back. read more

Every time I have gone to Cedar Creek I have a wonderful time. The grounds are beautiful, the cabins are perfect, and the food is great. One of my favorite places to visit. When we stay overnight, we particularly like hanging around the pool, as well as playing some golf and going down the lake and fishing. I tried to create an entry for Town Hall Saloon at Cedar Creek. Yelp's moderators overrode me and made it Cedar Creek. This review is not for Cedar Creek. I have not been there and since it is a conference center and I am retired, I will not be going there. The thought of a team building exercise at one of these retreat places gives me the chills. So to be clear, this review is for Town Hall as a restaurant and a place to try 2nd Shift's beer. After testing the beers at 2nd Shift's tasting room, we moseyed (Western town theme, get it?) over to Town Hall for lunch. Town Hall is only open to the public on Saturday and Sunday. We had a very nice server who brought us our beers in real glasses. The tasting room uses plastic cups. Ms T loved the Brew Cocky DIPA. I enjoyed Mullineaux a French style Saison, which was a good choice for hot weather. The menu at Town Hall had plenty to choose from. We just wanted a Saturday lunch of sandwiches. Ms T had Mufaletta and I had another cheese burger (I've been on a burger kick lately). The burger was billed as 6 oz, but I have had some half pounders lately that may not have been as big. This one was generous and I only ate half. It was very good, served on ciabatta bread. I normally don't want breads like this for a burger, but it worked well. Ms T's Mufaletta was also good, I know because I ended up getting about one third of it, there and as a leftover. It is served cold and heating it a little would have improved it. I liked my potato salad which had crisp green beans included. If you are looking for a half day outing from St Louis, enjoy craft beers and like to see some of the scenery along the Missouri river, this makes a nice destination. We went by way of Hwy 100 and returned by crossing the river at Washington and coming back on MO 94. read more

I attended a wedding here last weekend and could not have had a better time. The staff was excellent and everyone went out of their way to make sure guests were taken care of. We spent a lot of time in the bar and restaurant and the view from the back deck is incredible. This has to be one of the most unique wedding venues in the area, and perhaps the entire country. I look forward to coming back and renting one the houses for a relaxing weekend outside the city. read more

Be forewarned ...if you are looking at this property for a "weekend getaway" type location, make sure you call and ask if there are any private events scheduled at the same time. We arrived to find that all the property facilities were closed to us for a private event and we would have to go all the way back to the town of Washington to find a restaurant for dinner. Then they lied when they said we can cancel our reservation and not stay there and NOT be charged for the night. read more

I really like this place. It's just outside of Hermann and a great place to stay if your in the area. Their saloon has a great ambience with live acts inside and a great patio as well. Some locals ride their horses their frequently and keep them outside which adds to the whole experience. You can tell the resort was older. It is very updated but has the best of both worlds. The room where they have breakfast is quant with a retro feel. The staff were all very friendly. The room was small but perfect. The bathrooms were recently updated and there was great scenary oustide with a line of trees. Overall, it was a great experience! read more

I had the chance to stay at Cedar Creek and it was a fabulous experience. We were checked in by friendly staff members and then found our cabin on the property. It was absolutely lovely! I'm a stickler for sheets and towels and theirs were very nice. The room had plenty of space and definitely had that modern farmhouse vibe everyone loves. We had dinner at the Town Hall and Brandy was great! They also had live music. After dinner we walked down to the lake, which was very peaceful and Brandy mentioned they had some poles we could borrow if we wanted to fish. They also have a pool, an onsite golf course and a bar/saloon. I would definitely recommend Cedar Creek and hope to be back again soon. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Cedar Creek, it's owners, and staff! At the end of a weekend stay in Hermann, we went to taste the 2nd Shift Brewery beer which is housed at Cedar Creek (this is fantastic beer!). We ended up loving everything so much that we wanted to stay the night. Much to our surprise, the grounds manager Patrick actually made this happen and it was wonderful. Chef Dennis was so kind and creates delicious dishes with passion. Lisa a very attentive and entertaining bartender. The owners were there and they were very kind and welcoming. The grounds are beautiful, our room was perfectly clean, and the bed was very comfortable!. (We stayed in a room at the Thistle House). I have never experienced better customer service and hospitality. We are so grateful for this impromptu ending to our trip - it was the highlight of our weekend! read more

This was hands down the best "hotel" experience ever! Called on a Friday afternoon for availability, and they had a Gate House available. We were checked in by the friendliest clerk ever! Our room was amazing, and really felt more like a cottage. The bathroom was huge, with a shower and a claw foot soaker tub. Entry area included a bar sink and mini fridge. Our bed was so comfortable, and the towels were the fluffiest and softest ever! The salt water pool was super clean and a unique experience. We ventured over to the Town Hall (bar and restaurant) without realizing it was closing time. They were so accommodating!! Fired the fryers back up to make us some appetizers to go, made drinks to go, and were so friendly while we waited for the food to get done. I feel they went out of their way, above and beyond, to make sure we were taken care of. I would love to leave more than five stars, and we will definitely return!! read more

This review is related to their response to COVID-19. I recently stayed here for a wedding, and almost didn't go until I saw the list of precautions put in place that put me at ease. However, I feel the need to warn potential guests that the precautions are not enforced at all and are only followed by (some) employees and not guests. For example, the restaurant has a sign outside that says "masks required in this area" so I wore my mask to order food. I was the only one out of at least 30 guests who was wearing a mask and following social distance guidelines. When I asked the front desk upon check in if there was an option for pick up order, she said yes but that I'd still have to go in and place the order. I waited 40 minutes inside just to put my order in, meanwhile being exposed. If these rules are not going to be enforced, they must offer alternatives such as delivery to rooms or a way to call in orders. I felt very uncomfortable in these areas. If I am the only one wearing a mask, this does nothing to protect me. Otherwise, the venue is beautiful and has a lot of potential. I just think if they choose to be open during this pandemic, there needs to be better guidelines. read more

I visited Cedar Creek Conference Center April 25-28, 2012 while attending CampKIP (a fiber-craft retreat held annually). This is a lovely facility located in a beautiful park like setting. The grounds are well groomed and lush with stone & brick walkways connecting the various buildings. There are several separate lodging buildings on the property. My room was located in the main Registration/Conferencee building just off the Lobby. It was very clean, nicely appointed with soft, fluffy towels, soaps, shampoo, hair dryer, good pillows and two double beds. There was a desk, TV, VCR, phone and Wi-Fi. The food provided by the culinary staff was very good - flavorful, fresh and plentiful. Accommodations were made for special dietary needs such as vegetarian, gluten-free, etc. Alcohol was available for purchase to our group - arrangements are made when booking the facility. There is a professionally done cookbook filled with Cedar Creek recipes available for purchase for $20 - quite a bargain! A beer tasting was provided by 2nd Shift Brewery and was held in one of the buildings of the "western town" located at the rear of the property. A wine tasting showcasing local area wineries was also provided as part of our retreat. Both tastings were enjoyed by all. The meeting rooms were well-lit and had ample seating/table space. There were several private gathering rooms available for use by guests. One such room housed a TV/DVD and a fireplace. On one of the cooler of our nights, a fire was lit in this room providing a very welcoming, homey atmosphere. The grounds included a pool, several covered and open seating areas , and a walking path that circled the small, stocked lake. There is also a golf course on site. I did not have a chance to try it the case, but from what I saw, it was well maintained and ready to go. The staff is very well trained, courteous and friendly. I enjoyed my stay here at Cedar Creek very much and look forward to returning in the future. read more

I'd like to begin by saying I don't have the correct area to actually review (I'll explain). The BF and I have been wanting to sample 2nd Shift beers at their brewery. 2nd Shift's brewery and saloon are located on Cedar Creek's property. We went by once before and they were closed, we called ahead this time and were told that the Town Hall would be open. We didn't really know what that meant, but were going to be in the New Haven area so decided to stop in. The Resort/houses/lodge and pool are to one side.. land, golf course are on the other side, in the middle is this old timey western village. There are a few buildings and some construction going on. One building was the 2nd Shift Brewery/Saloon which was closed. Across the "road" was the Town Hall. This building was newly remodeled and still a work in progress. We got there and the band was setting up. They are still working on a full service kitchen and back deck.. also they only have 4 draft beers (2nd Shift) but hope to have more soon, and have a 2nd bar out on the deck. (FYI the deck over looks the rolling hills and golf course). The staff was very kind, we were able to do a flight of beer, the bartender Carol knew quite a bit about the beer (she is a Cedar Creek employee not the brewery). We were able to purchase bombers of beer to go at a reasonable price. The River Rats were the music, and they were awesome! Food selection was great, the chef catered it from the main dining hall. Prices were reasonable. Besides 2nd Shift beer they also offered a Shafely and local Missouri Wines. They are open noon - 7 (I think) on weekends, but will close if they have a wedding.. hopefully that won't be for two long, part of the construction was creating a separate reception hall. We were told that 2nd Shift opens there Saloon's for special events, you need to follow their FB page to find the events. Once the Town Hall is finished with construction I think it's a fine substitute for the actually brewery, and how great you can bring the whole family since they have food/wine/soda and music! This will be our go to spot instead of a trip to one specific winery this year. Things of note: They accept credit cards but it's through the "square".. this area has VERY spotty service.. it was entertaining watching the waitress wondering around outside w/ a cellphone and credit card trying to get a signal. I have a feeling this could become a real issue as they get more popular. read more

Incredible opportunity to go to an old west saloon and restaurant. How cool is that? While I wasn't able to sample of the the 2nd Shift beers the environment here alone will give this place multiple stars. In order to get 5 stars they had a decent menu selection, nicely priced, with above average quality. Very friendly service. The outdoor patio is an awesome place for dinner and cocktails. Go here. I was there for a week long corporate retreat and can't say enough good things about the grounds and staff. The food was fantastic and home cooked to perfection with matching hospitable wait and kitchen staff. The accommodations are simple yet comfortable. Some rooms are more updated that others with flat screen tvs and whatnots, but you aren't going to cedar creek to enjoy the comforts of the modern day. The showers are fairly small and rooms may or may not have closets. I was a little reticent to wander around the grounds because I'm not a fan of the creepy crawlies that are common in rural areas, but I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the wild rabbits hopping around. It was my first time in rural Missouri and would recommend cedar creek to anyone wanting to set up a retreat or special occasion. read more

I looked so forward to our reservations with ceder creek in their cabin but was shocked to find when checking it that our cabin was damage and we were forced inside main Lodge. No apologies nothing. Not even close to what I booked. So upset and disappointed!!!! And to top off the tv has a whole in the screen. This was special weekend for our 1 year anniversary and my birthday and ceder creek blew it in my opinion. Bummer on a great day in hermann. Save yourself the pain and don't book here. Our stay over the weekend was absolutely amazing & we would honestly give it more than 5 stars if that were possible. The entire staff of both Cedar Creek as well as the Town Hall restaurant were both friendly and helpful. They were extremely busy this weekend as they had a Music Fest scheduled, but you never saw one member of the staff miss a beat at maintaining both poise & composure with the guests! The rooms were very clean & we thoroughly enjoyed sitting on our screened porch as well as walking around the grounds enjoying the beauty all around us. We stayed in Gate House 1 & the pictures on the website don't even do it justice! It was the perfect weekend & we can't wait to visit again soon! read more

the Town Hall renovation is complete and i thought it was charming. on saturday the band chose to play inside due to heat & possible rain. on sunday the band played on the deck and the views are lovely. the live music was provided by professional musicians and was very good (check the schedule). the hall & saloon have good sound systems. the service was very friendly, the food offerings were limited but we had the cheese/sausage plate, the greek salad and the muffaletta and all were fresh and very tasty. the homemade bread is the best!. and the prices were quite reasonable. they have a wide assortment of beers, including 2nd Shift, along with local wines and assorted hard liquors. try the Pinckney Bend Distillery (New Haven) spirits: Gin, Vodka or Whiskey and/or their Classic Tonic Syrup. the 2nd Shift Saloon was open for tasting both days, but when they close early you can do a tasting in the Town Hall. they were sold out of a few of the beers, but we enjoyed the ones we tasted. well worth the stop. we stayed two nights at the lodge on a 'deal'. we had a small room with a decent sized bathroom with a tiny shower. it was very clean and we spent very little time in it so it was fine. there are outdoor and indoor spaces for lounging. the salt water pool was very enjoyable, although i wish they had a little more lighting at night. breakfast both mornings was much more than cereal, toast and juice, with hot offerings and fresh fruit. service was friendly and efficient. we hiked the trail. it was well kept and lots of beautiful wild flowers. but keep to the path because there is a lot of poison ivy in the brush. overall our stay was awesome. the entire staff is friendly and helpful. the grounds are well kept and lush. we left happy and relaxed and will definitely return. read more

I have to say we were very disappointed in the accommodations. We went to celebrate our anniversary and hoped for a relaxing weekend. The "old town" area had a nice live band and served wonderful appetizers. That is where the positive stopped. Our room was small and the bed uncomfortable. The room was hot and the information said the heater/ac was set to the season. Today it hit 60 outside but the room was about 72. We ended up opening a window but a loud college age group was having a fire and the smell drifted in. The same college group came in and out if all the rooms around us until 2:00 in the morning. At one point we decided to get some ice in the bucket provided but couldn't find an ice machine. We called the front desk (it was about 9:00pm) and no one answers. The phone have us another extension and still no answer but we left a message. No call back. I would NOT ever recommend this place! read more

We weren't sure how everything was going to work out since we stayed on a Sunday night during the off season, but Patrick and the rest of the staff were more than accommodating. We had a blast watching the River Rats at the Town Hall while sipping on some 2nd Shift. Can't wait to go back when the weather is nicer. read more
