The White Mule Winery Bed & Breakfast is one of our favorite places to celebrate special events. The owners are wonderful people who make everyone feel like family. The venue is beautiful, and there are separate rooms for hosting parties / events. The food is excellent, with different menus for different days. Traveling all 50 states--started in Florida, and Missouri was our 14th stop. On the way to our campsite, we stumbled across this small-town, farm-to-table gem, and wow... hands down the best meal we've had since hitting the road. Great Sunday Drive during the cold winter season. Easy access and lots of parking. You do not need a reservation, but we always call ahead cause sometimes they can get crowded. They have a pretty good selection of wines and they are very reasonably priced. We always come on Sunday for all you can eat fried chicken. Food is well prepared with perfect pan fried chicken and all the trimmings. Recently we tried their frozen ground beef. Now my husband will ONLY eat their ground beef, makes the best homemade hamburgers you ever ate. This is a homey family venue. They are always welcoming!! read more

I love the atmosphere, great all you could eat chicken. Have been here many times for this they no longer serve dessert anymore with the meal, which is a bummer but you get a small salad, real mashed potatoes and corn wasn't bad either. read more

I ate dinner on a Friday night, the weekend of July 4th, at While Mule with a group of 7. It was my first time dining out in a restaurant in exactly 16 weeks due to the corona virus pandemic. The service was fine and the food was fine considering it's in Gasconade County. For $25 (or less) you get a drink, a small salad, a choice of entrée, 2 side dishes, and a small dessert. It's tough to beat that deal. Most of our party ordered the Rib eye which was the nightly steak special. One person ordered a filet and I ordered the salmon. I asked to have it prepared medium when I ordered it but the waitress said it is already cooked. It came out and it was not overdone. It had a nice blackening spice on it. I was told to order the river potatoes as one of my sides. They were drenched in butter and really good. All in all a smooth experience considering they only serve dinner here maybe 2 nights a week. There wasn't a person on the premises wearing a mask and it didn't appear they were doing anything out of the ordinary to social distance. I know things work differently out in Gasconade County but I would have expected slightly more. I'd return with a group of people. read more

I don't even know where to begin with how amazing the White Mule is! My husband and I chose this venue for our wedding reception and we could not have made a more perfect choice! The winery is family owned and they do whatever it takes to make you feel special and stress free on your special day! We were able to stay in the BnB on site the couple nights before and on the night of the wedding! They made us breakfast each morning and cleaned up after and offered up anything we needed! The venue was absolutely breath taking and a great escape to hold a special day away from the craziness of the busy world! I would highly highly recommend the White Mule for any major event! We live about an 1.25 hours away, and were driving down highway 50 when we spotted the White Mule Winery this past Sunday. We decided to stop and see what type of menu they had. The special was all can eat Roast Beef and/or Fried Chicken. The meal came with a coleslaw salad, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a roll. Everything was amazing!! It reminded me of my grandmother's home cooking. The portions were big and the price was very reasonable. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We will go back there again when in the area....hopefully soon!! It was well worth the drive!! read more

Great destination eats...Sunday all you can eat pan fried chicken and fixins is off the hook. Been several times and each is better than the last. Such a great place right off of highway 50. I added some pictures from their Facebook page. Along with additional pictures, you'll see they have 4.8 out of 5 stars along with many great reviews, and regularly updated list of events on their page. Their wine is so good and their food is to die for. We have been to their all-you-can eat fried chicken meal in Sundays many times. The chicken in soaked in buttermilk which makes it so juicy and crispy. If you're visits from out-of-town, I strongly suggest a steak off of their Friday dinner choices. i wish i had more to report here as this is a lovely little place and I would have loved to try the wine as it may bump my rating up a couple stars. I was all by myself today and noticed this charming little place so I decided to stop in and sample some wines and get my wine passport stamped. The building was very cozy inside and had a big fireplace with a rustic feel. I went to the bar area and saw the wines and some tip money in a jar--lights were on in the little kitchen area but nobody came out and I heard nothing for about 10 minutes so I figured they were out feeding the animals as this looks like it is a small hobby farm also. Oh-well hopefully next time I swing by there will be people inside to offer me some of the wine.... read more

Party of eight, seven were served our steaks and shrimp one was told it would be five more minutes for his kabobs to come out. Those with food waited five minutes to eat allowing our food to cook off. After 20 minutes everyone's meals were cold the missing kabobs had not arrived, the floor manager and owner were aware of the situation. Ended with the manager giving a $1.80 discount! It's a wonderful facility, but the food and wine disappoint. Last Friday was our second time there, first time for food. We couldn't finish our bottle of vinegar, aka Norton. Steak was good and was by far the best part of the meal. Green beans were from a can, and mashed potatoes were recently flakes. "Cherry cobbler" was canned cherry pie filling with goop on top. My friend and I came across this wonderful gem just driving by. The staff was super nice and friendly even though they were preparing for a party, they were more than patient with us. The place is GORGEOUS! It looks like a wonderful setting to have a wedding or party. We tasted every wine and not a single one was bad! Everything was good for what it was (dry, sweet, etc).
