Before booking, read the reviews on Google, Yelp, and TripAdvisor--you'll see we are not the first to experience this. Three weeks ago, my son-in-law called and spoke directly with Michele Broxton, the owner, regarding full-time opportunities while moving from California to Missouri. She was friendly and helpful, guaranteed him a spot when ready at a monthly rate of $595 or three months in advance at a discounted rate of $1,500, and then completely ghosted him. For the next two weeks, he tried calling, texting, and emailing repeatedly to confirm the deposit for placement. Meanwhile, trusting her guarantee and the availability of openings, he secured employment starting in March and arranged RV transport, paying over $2,500 for delivery to Ozark Farms on February 24, 2026. Being from Missouri and familiar with the area, I got involved because I know it's a great state to raise a family--but based on Ozark Farms' website, this experience was anything but welcoming. I called to check if there had been a communication error and found two additional numbers still routing to Michele Broxton. I called, texted, and emailed every single one, hoping someone would respond--no one ever did. Finally, after numerous attempts, someone answered at 5:30 PM California time / 7:30 PM Missouri time. I believe it was Michele Broxton. When I asked if this was Ozark Farms, the response was, "How can I help you?" I explained the urgency and asked if I was speaking with Michele Broxton--she refused to answer and stated she needed to speak only with the person signing the agreement. When I requested to merge the call with my son-in-law, she refused. Throughout the call, she acknowledged the urgency in a somewhat caring tone--but gave no apologies, no explanation, and would not confirm her identity. She stated she would review communications to "ensure nothing was lost in translation." It doesn't matter who I spoke with--this person is a representative of Ozark Farms and the face of the company to customers. Despite being polite and professional, the lack of respect and transparency was shocking. Only after persistent follow-ups did she finally contact my son-in-law--and not by phone or text, but via an email at 9:30 PM PST / 11:30 PM Missouri time, declining his reservation four hours after our call. We will never recommend or patronize Ozark Farms. They advertise as a "caring, family-run business," but offer zero communication or transparency. Relocating to a new state is a huge financial and personal commitment. Prospective tenants deserve honest communication, clarity, and follow-through--things Ozark Farms failed to provide.

Not Ideal for Tent Campers…read more My husband and I stopped here for one night while passing through town and were unfortunately disappointed with our stay. We tent camp, and the setup was not very tent-friendly. The sites were on a hill with inconvenient parking -- we had to haul our gear quite a distance to reach our spot. Our site did have water and electricity, which was a plus, but the overall layout made it difficult to enjoy. While the campground was generally well maintained and offered flush toilets, free showers, and a laundry facility, those amenities were not conveniently located near the tent camping area. Noise was also an issue: there's a train that runs nearby during the night, constant highway traffic, and chickens that crow loudly right next to the campsites. Check-in was confusing. No staff were onsite to assist, upon arrival no map or parking pass was provided, and signage was unclear. We received an email the day before with basic info, but the lack of clear directions made arrival frustrating. Overall, this campground may work better for RV travelers, but for tent campers, it felt disorganized and poorly designed. We wouldn't choose to stay here again.

Since we were the last ones there we were stuck on the pull out couch in the basement. I honestly can't complain though! It was very comfortable and I slept great! There are a ton of amenities on premise. Tons of fridge space (I think there were at least 3 refrigerators), a full kitchen with a double convection oven, a huge "mess hall" for feeding your crew, a hot tub for relaxing...the list goes on! There is also a boating dock area for access and swimming in the lake. You can also use the kayaks and canoes as you wish too. One thing I will say though. The owner of the property lives directly next to you. I'm talking same house just separated into two. Think like a massive duplex. We did see the owner and they never really got in our way but it did feel as though they were sort of watching us during the week we stayed. There is no cell service at all but there is WiFi (thank you AT&T WiFi calling!) so be prepared for that. Definitely would recommend if you have a huge event that would require housing a lot of people.

Having 2 TVs was nice to let the kids watch one and we had the other. Bed was comfy and shower was always hot. As for amenities, we used the fitness room daily. There was plenty of cardio equipment and my husband used the free weights. We planned to let the kids use the indoor pool but never got around to it. As for the breakfast, it is good. There is always some kind of eggs and meat (since we eat low carb, this is clutch.) There are also other options like homemade waffles, various breads, bagels, pastries, muffins, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal. One day they had cheese omelets but they were out. Just weat tight and light clothing and do a tick check in the evenings. Spray your clothes, socks, shoes and everywhere. You and the kids will be fine. Bring old towels to use at the river. Bring paper towels and dish towels, cooking oil and seasoning. Paper plates if you want to cut dish washing time. The kitchens have just the basics, I brought an instant pot and a portable gas grill. Or bring charcoal, lighter fluid and a lighter. They provide plenty of bedding and bath towels and hand soap but bring body soap and shampoo. The cabins are great but you will be in a state park so don't expect a five star hotel. The beds are not the most comfortable but way better than the ground. The cabin was the best state park cabin we have stayed in. It was clean and a great place for a family reunion. We rented the 4 bedroom cabin. There were 12 of us ranging in age from 6 months to 67 years old. We enjoyed hiking, biking, river playing, creek stomping, caves, smores in the fire pitand an all arou.d great week. The guys the spotted my camper were real nice. Hookups worked at our site. No life guards at the pool, ergo no rules being enforced. There are security cameras at the gate and the Lodge... and yes even at the pool so apparently no one is watching them. There is a teen center/grill which we were excited about but it never did open the whole time we were there. The miniature golf course is not very usable due to disrepair and neglect. As you might expect, the prices at the store inside the Lodge is $$$. The Lodge itself is nice but it has gambling machines (a lot). Due to the lack of supervision this could be less than ideal for kids if given money by the parents. It's not like they check your ID to play. The people that work here are mostly crabby, except the spotting guys. It does have a laundry area that's about as basic as you can get. Some machines out of order. There are lots and lots of golf carts which makes it very loud and dusty. Apparently there is no speed rule enforced because people go way faster than the 10 mph posted including the head guy. Fire pits are mostly adequate and it seemed that most spots had picnic tables. Not very nice ones, but they did have them. There's also an "Adult center" with a pool table, dart machine and I think a jukebox. Nobody in there and kind a dirty. M/W bathrooms as well. Hope this helps fellow campers!
