Hermann Hill was good, but not great. I can see why this is a spot where couples come to connect…read more We stayed in the rooms that were attached to check in so my ranking only based on that room and facility. Check in was easy and the view on the hill would be nice if not rainy and can't imagine what a great sunny day would be like (probably very pretty!). They do have a 3 mile walking trail but if you try it you need to grab the map first or you'll think you're heading to a private road. We turned back without a map thinking we went the wrong way - rookie mistake but wish we would have been told to grab a map prior to heading out. Or be handed one as newbies... The owner I believe lives in the facility as well, and it was Easter weekend. He was talkative first night upon check in and did stop by outside to chat. The waterfall was not working and he said maybe he'd get it working by the time we left. Not a big deal, but never did turn on. It was odd that his family lived there or was visiting for Easter so we did feel a little like intruders over the weekend. Room: was freezing cold, and first night the heat was not working well. We did have a fireplace in the room but the unit to use for heat was not working no matter what we tried even with staff assistance. The bathroom was freezing and we had to use a space heater to try to warm it. We did complain the second night and nothing was fixed as owner was having Easter dinner upstairs with his family. Hot Tub: clean, small and perfect for 2 people. Made the trip. Didn't use the small table fire pit. They don't tell you that they drop off deserts at night and the next morning we woke up with melted ice cream outside the room. Communication breakdown. Coffee was folders, nothing great but did have a selection of offerings for breakfast time. Staff workers were amazing - kind and super friendly given that it was Easter weekend. You can tell they do try to give you the best experience. The staff hired here were amazing and friendly. Games are available for the rainy days. TV has most steaming services, rooms a tad older look. Somethings not functioning - like the sound machine, TV being finicky, and heat in room. We probably will not choose this room. Would rather stay at the rooms that are on the river and try that route next time!

Stumbled into this for a one night stay (will be back next time for multiple nights). We had appetizers and champagne ordered and waiting on us in our unit. Had both hot tub inside & outside overlooking town.

The woman that waited on us was very friendly and we were in and out in less than hour as we were trying to make the 12:30 tour so that made us happy. The tour was free and very interesting. We learned some very interesting things we had no idea about. I would recommend it if you are in the area.

I visited Stone Hill Winery yesterday, and while the property is beautiful, the service was…read moreextremely disappointing. When we walked in, we weren't greeted at all. Several other couples who arrived around the same time were welcomed immediately, but we were left standing there without any acknowledgment. It was uncomfortable and made us feel overlooked in a way no quest should experience. I can't say why we were treated differently, but the contrast was hard to ignore. Because of the lack of attention, we ended up buying only a few bottles- even though we originally planned to purchase two full cases. We also chose not to buy anything from the stores afterward, which is unusual for us, but the experience at the beginning made it difficult to fully appreciate the visit. For a winery with such a strong reputation, I expected a much more welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. This was a one- star experience for us, and we won't be returning.

A wonderful event space. The main room is huge and it was amazing to watch how quickly and…read moreefficiently they flipped the room, They went from rows of chairs for the wedding ceremony to dinner tables for 215 wedding guest. There are two bars, one on the lower level and another in the main room. The bartenders, were well skilled in their craft. It was an open bar, so they had to hustle to keep up with the thirsty guest. Eclipse Catering is part of, The Atrium, so they did the dinner and it was excellent. We started out with a small Caesar Salad. Guest got to choose between chicken or steak as their entree. I chose steak and it was fork tender, so I really did not need to use the steak knife they provided. It came with two-sides, Roasted Potatoes and Purple Carrots. Both were excellent choices. The serving of dinner went smoothly, The servers knew which entree each guest requested, because the words chicken or steak were written under our name of the place cards. A simple detail like that can make things so easy. For the size of the space, I was impressed with the acoustics. When the wedding party gave their toast, they were easy to hear. Also, when the DJ started playing music to get the party started, there was no echo. If you're in need of a party/event space in downtown Columbia, look no further, The Atrium on Tenth is the place for you.

I've been to Hermann about 5 times now. We've always missed out on eating here and I was so excited…read morewe were going to finally get to try it out. We had a party of 12 and we were told we'd be sat at different tables, no big deal. 8 of our party went to one table and the other 4 sat at a table catty corner to our party. We had separate waiters which I think was maybe their first mistake. Both tables ordered drinks and appetizers that came fast and were delicious....then things quickly fell apart. We were one of the first few tables seated. Our other parties tables food came out and us 4 at the other table was still waiting. We continued to wait while every table that came in after us starts getting their meals. Finally the table behind us that came in 30 min after us got their meals, we asked the waitress if she could check on our food? She came back and said it was "being plated." We wait a solid 30 more min and by this time our other parties table had eaten and were paying and we still did not have our food. Asked the waitress again who said they were waiting on mashed potatoes. We got up to check with the manager who was bartending who never once apologized or stopped to check on what was going on and only said "we got swamped." Which was a crazy excuse considering we were one of the first tables to order. Since the manager refused to help at all we talked to the hostess who was seating people and may have been the asst manager. She checked on our food and told us "there was a problem with the pesto." When our food came out my daughter mushroom and Swiss burger was charred to a crisp and hard. Finally the assistant manager took our meals off of our tickets. It was a frustrating experience for our first visit there and didn't leave a great impression. The food (minus my daughter's burger) and drinks were really good. I'm not sure where the disconnect happened but the managers poor excuse and the way he completely ignored us and the situation was pretty poor customer service. We come to Hermann every year and this year had brought people who had never been before. Sad they didn't get an enjoyable experience and my daughter didn't even get a meal.
