The epitome of a mom-and-pop breakfast joint. No frills, all killer no filler. The star here is the service and the food. Just good old fashioned southern breakfast cookin' at phenomenal prices. Probably not the place for very large groups, but for one to six people, this is a great option. My family is visiting Ft. Benning this week for a boot camp graduation. We were awake at 330am, on base by 5am and we're given a break for 2 hours at 8am; we needed something to eat...NOW!!! My wife googled the nearest breakfast joint and CC's came up so we went. Oh my! Sausage gravy drowned my hash browns and it was a delight. Eating here for the first time was cool experience. It's a family owned business and a small hideaway from all the larger restaurants, which gives you a homey atmosphere. The waitresses were nice and attentive. And the food was great. The scrambled eggs were perfect: scrambled, well done, and small bits still raw that made it taste good. Last day of family weekend from basic training. CC's is an older smaller local restaurant that serves an early breakfast! Waitress very friendly and efficient! I asked for something not really on the menu but they served it up fast and with no problem. My grits and cheese and egg arrived all piled up on one plate like I asked and it was DELICIOUS!! You will not find a better breakfast joint for breakfast or lunch. Now there is a caveat to that.. it's a down and dirty good ol' homestyle southern diner. If you don't know what that means then you may want to just try it out and find out for yourself. The food is always good and has brought me back at least 5 times in the past month. The Breakfast Special is unbeatable. Great sized servings of 2 eggs, home fries, grits, toast, and bacon. A few of those options can be changed around but it still comes out to $6.95. Maybe it's just the down south prices, but up North where I'm from the same meal with the serving sizes would be somewhere around $10+ undoubtedly. My only complaint about the place is that it's not open on Sundays. I have been there once for lunch and it too was a great serving for a great price. There is always a lunch and breakfast special that will appease almost anyone. Another great touch is that it has been the same servers every time I've been there. Call me a sucker for small town places but this is a winner in my book. I think it appeals to a certain crowd given the surrounding area in downtown Columbus, but to anybody who would give it a shot I'm sure they would walk away full and satisfied with what they paid for.
