We had dinner at Cbar last night, and it far exceeded our expectations. The food was top notch. We had the mojo pork belly, mussels in escabeche, spring pea and mushroom cavatelli, and local fresh catch. The cavatelli was my favorite, highlighting spring flavors. The mussels were also very good, with nduja spread at the bottom. We'll definitely be back to try more options read more

Stopped by for an iced Hibiscus tea and it was delicious! I drink hibiscus tea a lot in the mornings and got used to a more tart flavor, but it was hot out today so I went for the iced, unsweetened version and was surprised at how good it was! Asked the kind staff why the flavor was so different and they told me that it was because they cold brew it. Cold brewing my hibiscus for the rest of the summer, thanks for sharing the tip! Had the sliders again today and they were served hot! Had a much better experience overall today. read more

Had breakfast wrap, fresh and tasty, good coffee, friendly server, funky vibe. Wine selection looks excellent

Good food, good service, super chill ambiance. Love the live music . Local music bands perform regularly at this location.

If you have not been to C Bar, do yourself a favor and get in there. Mike, Toni, and team are doing an outstanding job with the Bistro and Wine Bar. It's great for coffee and breakfast, brunch, lunch, happy hour, and dinner. Given the incredibly thoughtful selection of wines that they have curated and the excellent food, I especially love it for dinner, but you can't go wrong there any time of day. C Bar has a warm and welcoming feel to it, and it's works just as well for the family brunches that we've had with our young kids as it does for the work dinners that we have hosted there. read more

My daughter & I came in this morning for our first time and we definitely left very very impressed. Let me start by saying that the coffee was GREAT, service was excellent too. fast, delicious lattes brought straight to your table!!! The ambience was one of my favorite things. The Christmas decor was stunning and way better in person!! I love that it was super mellow when we came in around 9ish. I purchased a hot vanilla latte and I felt it hit instantly. My eyes felt more awake and I was instantly in love ahahaha!! My daughter got an iced salted Carmel latte and she loved it as well! This is definitely somewhere will be back very soon! Great place to read a book or like we did we came in for our Bible reading and devotional!! read more

Exceptional experience every time! Friendly and attentive staff. The environment is inviting. Since the new chef came along our entire experience has blown our mind. The food was so yummy with a great presentation on every dish. I'd say this is a fine dining experience without the insane price tag. My husband and I enjoyed the Yellowtail and mussles appetizer then finished it off with the mushroom and goat cheese ravioli, YUM! We will be back soon! Great job and working through the kinks of opening a new restaurant. Proud of our village life new successes. read more

First of all, don't let the name deceive you...yes they have delicious chocolate treats but they have a full savory menu too. Everything we got was so full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Service was great! I know some people have had an issue with this place because of the switch from fully GF to introducing some gluten items but let me put your mind at ease: if you have celiac (like me and like the owner!) you are safe to eat here! There are no cross contamination issues and they are super knowledgeable. If you're not gluten free there are plenty of options if you're one of those people who dislikes GF bread etc. It's a win win! Can't wait to go back soon! read more

Hi All. Just visited the Cbar in Carlsbad and had a wonderful time. Very friendly staff coupled with excellent chocolate martinis and beef tallow shoestring fries. Nice atmosphere as well. Luke and Delaney are awesome! Give it a shot! read more

I have become a Cbar regular! This place has such a great vibe. They always have amazing music and fun entertainment. Trivia night is becoming a weekly favorite. Oh and the FOOD! Their breakfast flatbread omggggg soooo good. Love their tacos and their sliders. Oh! Their steak frites with chimichurri? Yesssss. There's a beef braise over mashed potatoes that makes me so happy. Coffee? DELISH! Wine? OBVIOUSLY! Thank you for coming to the Village Cbar! read more

We were greeted immediately walking which felt wonderful and we sat at the bar. This place is set up so well, easily a wine bar but with cafe feels. We didn't get a chance to try the food, we were on a mission to try their toasted hot chocolate, it was delightful not too sweet perfectly balanced chocolate taste and the fluff incorporated into the mug was so tasty! Looking forward to going back and try some of the food we saw going out to other customers! (Beef tallow fries, and flat bread pizzas looked amazing) read more

I decided to go back to one of my new favorites. It was once called the Chocolate Bar but now it is called the Cbar. Still quaint and relaxing with front outdoor seating. You can order at the front and then go sit down in open seating or you can have table service. I decided to go and have table service. My waitress Bria was super sweet, kind, very approachable, she was an absolute delight to have met. They have a full service bar from various coffees, teas, and lemonade of your liking to wines, beers, and very few cocktails. There is a full menu of delicious food. I went back to what I had previously and that was the Veggies on Focaccia bread, and it came with a side of delicious fries. I am not a Vegetarian nor Vegan at all but this sandwich was exquisite. My drink of choice was their in house Cbar Blonde and that was absolutely refreshing. They have various local bands performing on Fridays and Saturdays and activities each month so check their website for upcoming events. If you do decide a fancy glass of wine and you also fell in love with it, don't be shy and grabbing yourself a bottle on the wine shelves. The manager is super sweet makes sure all his guests are taken care of. read more

Service was very, very slow. We received no apologies when everyone's food came out one at a time and we were left waiting 55 mins from the moment we ordered for the last meal to arrive, we all waited to eat until we all had our food...The live musician was incredible, we absolutely loved her but our large party with a reservation was sat right in front of her, so we couldn't hear a thing amongst ourselves. We were also celebrating a bride-to-be and her wine glass came to her very dirty. We returned it to manager, who willingly replaced...but we saw him sipping on his own wine on the floor throughout the evening, with little to no care for how we were doing (?!). Overall just disappointed because the food was fantastic, a little expensive, but would've been worth it for the celebration. read more

My husband and I stopped in with our baby in a stroller, and Mike, the manager, was incredibly accommodating. He helped us get settled near the front windows, where we enjoyed a relaxing glass of wine. The decor was so festive -- Christmas lights hung all over the ceiling -- and there was live music playing since it was a Saturday, which made the atmosphere even better. It was a short visit, but we loved the vibe and can't wait to come back and try their dinner menu! read more

This feedback is not for the staff that work there because everyone is amazing and super sweet and nice. Although I am disappointed about the quality in the food compared to the price. Doesn't matter if everything is gluten free, gluten free doesn't always mean good quality. I got the ham and cheese croissant and taste like frozen w no flavor, did not taste fresh. I am disappointed because I'm a local and wanted to support the local businesses here in the village but I will not be coming back due to the quality less than the price . Also I'd like to mention that I did have a coffee; even if the coffee was good, was $7 plus tax. How am I supposed to leave a tips after that I spend $26+ for a to go breakfast!!!??????? read more

Service was super slow and food was not great. Shared our frustration and had to hear about all the "technical challenges" the experienced. Take ownership of issues and resolve issues. An offer of a gluten free brownie does not make up for the bad experience. Still left a decent tip but they are going to have to step it up. read more

I had a gluten free ham and cheese croissant with fries, and it was delicious! It's so nice to have a cute place that offers organic, gf, and seed oil free options! My friend ordered the truffles popcorn--she wasn't a fan--so they took it back and refunded it to her--and also brought us a free brownie as a way to say sorry she wasn't satisfied. Also, they are very dog friendly. The service was amazing, and everyone was so kind and helpful! Will definitely go back! read more

I have been to Chocolate Bar several times since their recent opening, and it's been fantastic! They offer a lovely wine list, and their charcuterie board and Wagyu sliders are delicious. The vibe (some days and evenings they have live music) is spot on with lively entertainment without being overbearing and possessing that beach town feel. This is one of my new, favorite hangout spots! read more

Attentive service. amazing food. Great wine selection Great new venue with live music

Love having a gluten free option! Everything is gluten free so it is safe for celiacs. Yay! The name is confusing - they have a full menu, not just chocolate. Service was great. Donuts and panini were very good. However, as other reviewers have mentioned the croissant is not good. It is like a mushy roll or something. They should remove it from their menu completely and focus on the other items that were really tasty. We loved the potatoes that came as a side on both our orders. Overall, I recommend going. Check it out! read more

Saw this place on instagram and had to try it. I'm a big chocolate fan and love supporting local. I was disappointed and very confused as the menu in person didn't match online. I was excited to try the snickers popcorn and chocolate pairings which both were not options in person. The chocolate display was tiny. We ended up getting a few truffles and a bag of chocolate pecans up front to go. Will definitely give it a second shoot in a few months once they have been open for a while and update my review. read more

I think this place has room for improvement. They just opened recently & I was unimpressed by a few things. They're priced at the high end of local spots but the coffee and sandwich I got were very unimpressive unfortunately, I won't name competitors but locally there's at least three spots that feel as though they have a more special coffee and sandwich product on offer. Service was friendly but felt like they needed more training and practice. And the vibes were just kind of off (no suggestions on how to fix that, it may just come with time). That being said, I'd give this spot a second chance when it's up and running smoothly, supporting new local spots is near and dear to me so I wish them success and hope they get the swing of things in the end. read more

I was so excited for a 100% gluten free restaurant to open. I went and the gluten free food was amazing! Now for the Bad- This restaurant is not 100% gluten free like it says on their website and social media. I'm extremely disappointed in the recent change. I'm so thankful for the celiac and gluten free community for spreading the word today on social media that this is not 100% gluten free. read more

Absolutely loved C Bar! The food was amazing--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The vibes were on point. It has a great atmosphere, fun energy, and perfect for a night out or a relaxed outing. The wine and beverage list was huge with tons of options, and everything we tried was on point. Love the new Chocolate Bar in Carlsbad. Great atmosphere and delicious food. The White Chocolate Cheese dip is my new favorite!

The chocolate bar closed on the corner of state and grand and then they called this place the chocolate bar which is 3 blocks from the old restaurant ?? The concept is all over the place ... wine bar , chocolate bar, deserts but food, now event hall ..so confused... want it to do well but unless they can really advertise what they are selling I think everyone is lost read more

Ham and cheese croissant 10 times better than Starbucks. Amazing service and nice employee.

I waited to try the Chocolate Bar so the kinks could get worked out and was anticipating so much. Just as another reviewer said. "Where's the chocolate?" We tried two of the truffles, but that was about the extent of the chocolate. We also each had a savory item. I had the avocado toast, and my friend had a croissant sandwich. In both cases, they were not tasty. Mine wasthe equivalent of two slices of a baguettes and lots of sprouts. Very skimpy with the avocado and the bread was not crunchy. When you think of toast, you think of crunch. Same for the croissant sandwich. It was very doughy. When you think of croissant, you think of something very light. I don't think anyone tasted either item. Also, it was very slow when we went and there were a couple of people at the front and it would've been nice to have them come over to see if we had any questions or tell us about some of the popular items. I dropped $55 on two sandwiches, two coffees and two truffles. That would've been fine if they were absolutely delicious. read more

Where's the chocolate? I was so looking forward to trying this new local spot. It's been all the talk around town and I'm a chocolate fiend! The staff were friendly but the service was lacking. It's unclear if it's self-serve or a traditional restaurant. We had to ask for water, silverware and napkins. I ordered a croissant sandwich and it was harder than a stale biscuit. We also ordered some truffles because they were the only real chocolate items on the menu. I was expecting a menu full of delicious options. Am I wrong? Great location and nice atmosphere but I can't imagine returning unless they can deliver on the chocolate part. read more
