Found this spot while heading to the beach and ate here for breakfast/brunch for dine in. It was delicious! Coffee was good and the breakfast food was amazing. Ordered vanilla latte and mocha and they use high quality chocolate. Food was the breakfast croissant add bacon (extra charge) and the lox toast. Prices were market price $16 a dish $7 lattes. They have wine to go and a vast wine selection and do to go drinks and have pastries for takeout too. Inside and patio seating and service was friendly and attentive. I went to an enjoyable Yelp event here last year and I'd been meaning to return. Recently, I'd been seeing so many positive reviews that I decided to meet a friend for happy hour. I arrived first and it was pretty busy. The server let me try a taste of a few wines before I picked. I was thankful for that. My friend arrived and she tried my wine and one or two others before she decided. It was a nice night. We sat at the window seats which was perfect. It's a bit dark in the back but it was still a bit chilly outside. We ordered the short rib to share and a mezze plate. The short rib arrived and we were quite surprised at the tiny size to price proportion. The flavor was wonderful and we both enjoyed it but for the price we would not order it again. The mezze plate was also good. I really love the concept of this bar and all it offers such as art & wine classes, winemaker dinners, live music etc. it's fun to watch it evolve. They were beyond accommodating and made it so easy for us to split our checks individually, which is a huge plus for a group. The space is long, narrow, and has such a cute, intimate vibe. I love brazed short rib. I make it myself and think I'm pretty good at it. What we had tonight made mine look like a 20 on a 100 scale. Cbar's stuff is ridiculously overlooked. Plus, with the excellent wine pairing made this one of the best foodie nights I've had in a loooong time. We also had their sourdough bread, which is made in-house, evidently....just crazy. I've had so many amazing experiences at the Cbar. My favorite being the wine and tasting pairing. I got to meet so many amazing contributors including Fox Point farms and Saint K wine. Chef Jarle and Mark know exactly what they are doing, he served dishes that I normally wouldn't try but absolutely loved. They were an absolute delicacy! I was really happy to be introduced to this wine bar at a Yelp event and decided to come back a few days later to enjoy it again. This is the reinvented Oak & Elixir that has raised the bar on wine bars and cafes. Most wine bars I've visited usually have very limited menu items and I tend to get very bored with charcuterie boards so it is so nice to be able to sit down and have a full meal freshly prepared with my wine selection. I actually came on two seperate days and tried a mix of appetizers like the curry meatballs, flatbreads, and plates with short ribs and asparagus. Our servers were very attentive and were very happy to offer alternative wine selections if we weren't thrilled with the standard offering for a flight. The atmosphere is a mix of hustle bustle with pockets of more quiet space towards the back. There was a private event going on in one area of the restaurant so it's nice to see it used for mutiple purposes. If you want a latte and viennoiserie in the morning, there are grab and go options, You can sit at the bar and chat with your servers and you can sit at a more quiet table for a nice date. If you haven't visited since the changeover, you really should check it out. read more

I came across Chocolate Bar while I was searching for a place to eat breakfast this morning. I did not realize Chocolate Bar was actually a wine bar until I took a look at their menu. I wasn't going to dine here at first, but then I saw some breakfast items on their menu and I changed my mind. As I continued to scan their menu, I was pleasantly surprised by their offerings and went for a brunch item instead of breakfast. I ordered their sweet and savory goat cheese, prosciutto and fig flatbread with arugula and it was beyond delicious. I was pleasantly surprised at how scrumptious it was and how large the portion was. It was enough for two people to share. My husband ordered an açai bowl with peanut butter, granola and fruit, and the portion was huge! I did taste some of my husband's açai bowl and I gotta admit that it was super fresh and probably the tastiest açai I've ever had. And not only is the food amazing but the ambience is casual, warm and very inviting. Overall I'd say Chocolate Bar will be doing just fine if they keep doing the fantastic job they are doing with their menu selection, wine and customer service! Everyone that helped us from the cashier up front and the food runner was super friendly, helpful and quick to serve. Really nice little casual bar with all types of seating either at the high tops near the front or in couches near the back. The owner is a nice guy and is very hospitable, right now for the holidays they have an excellent menu of holiday themed drinks. My personal favorite is the eggnog martini. SO good. and I don't usually like martinis. They also have some gluten-free food offerings for those with gluten allergies, which is nice since my husband likes to go out but having an allergy can make that tough. Had a wonderful first experience at Cbar last night. It was busy but were seated quickly. We shared the mussels appetizer and short rib dinner. The mussels were fun and the homemade sourdough that came with it was off the charts. The mussels certainly didn't need anything else but I was thinking some roasted garlic with this app to spread on the sourdough with the mussels would make it unstoppable. The short rib was truly decadent and the only thing lacking was maybe a little more of the jammy reduction. We also shared two glasses of wine that were perfectly paired with our dishes. I like that they have wine recommendations listed with the meals on the menu. Service was also great. I waited for this restaurant to open with excitement after speaking to the owner who has celiacs tell me "you never have to worry everything on the menu is gluten free"! Even the menu said All items are gluten free. I came in with a girlfriend to buy special croissants that are the best gluten free croissants I've ever had and got glutened with severe stomach pain and brain fog among other issues. When I asked the girl who rang me up she said I had been miss informed and they haven't carried gluten free croissants in months ?? That someone should have told me that they only have gluten free options now because people complained not having regular items on the menu and haven't been a full gluten free restaurant in months. This is so dangerous for a restaurant to flip flop like this especially with no signage on the countertop or in the glass case . However, the owner was bussing tables, serving food and drink and helping out. I really appreciated that. The ambiance has a hip decor vibe with a warm, intimate environment. There's bar seating, high tops, and low tops. The live music was great. The bathroom is right in the middle of dining. I would add a divider or some type of partition to close off that area. The reason I'm a maybe is because I observed some upset customers and disorganized staff. A young man, who appeared to be new, seemed to be aimlessly moving around. He left a newly made hot beverage on the counter to help two new customers. The customer who ordered the beverage came inside and asked if that's was the drink she had been waiting for...so, service seems to be an issue. That being said, my lavender latte was hot and delicious. I may give them some time to figure out service before dining there. (Rating is for my personal experience). read more

I was invited here to meet with a friend and was pleasantly surprised to find out that everything is gluten-free! Although I'm not allergic, I definitely have gluten sensitivity, and it was magical to be able to order anything off the menu easily. I opted for their basic avocado toast, which came with bonus potatoes and ended up being plenty for brunch. While there, the barista was trying out new recipes and had us sample a ginger turmeric latte, which I hope makes it onto their permanent menu--nicely sweet, hint of ginger, and warm (not hot), which I prefer. We had the mojo pork belly, mussels in escabeche, spring pea and mushroom cavatelli, and local fresh catch. The cavatelli was my favorite, highlighting spring flavors. Baked goods, breads, all of it - the high offering I've seen in the area. Nice environment and lovely staff as well. CONS: Wine by the glass selection is limited and I saw some lower "grocery store" quality wines on there (like Seaglass). Makes it feel a little less special. The fig and prosciutto flatbread we had was just OK - a bit too sweet and unbalanced. Also, despite the name - not much chocolate on the menu! Exceptional experience every time! Friendly and attentive staff. The environment is inviting. Since the new chef came along our entire experience has blown our mind. The food was so yummy with a great presentation on every dish. I'd say this is a fine dining experience without the insane price tag. Stopped by for an iced Hibiscus tea and it was delicious! I drink hibiscus tea a lot in the mornings and got used to a more tart flavor, but it was hot out today so I went for the iced, unsweetened version and was surprised at how good it was! Asked the kind staff why the flavor was so different and they told me that it was because they cold brew it. Cold brewing my hibiscus for the rest of the summer, thanks for sharing the tip! I decided to go back to one of my new favorites. It was once called the Chocolate Bar but now it is called the Cbar. Still quaint and relaxing with front outdoor seating. You can order at the front and then go sit down in open seating or you can have table service. I decided to go and have table service. My waitress Bria was super sweet, kind, very approachable, she was an absolute delight to have met. They have a full service bar from various coffees, teas, and lemonade of your liking to wines, beers, and very few cocktails. There is a full menu of delicious food. I went back to what I had previously and that was the Veggies on Focaccia bread, and it came with a side of delicious fries. I am not a Vegetarian nor Vegan at all but this sandwich was exquisite. My drink of choice was their in house Cbar Blonde and that was absolutely refreshing. They have various local bands performing on Fridays and Saturdays and activities each month so check their website for upcoming events. If you do decide a fancy glass of wine and you also fell in love with it, don't be shy and grabbing yourself a bottle on the wine shelves. The Christmas decor was stunning and way better in person!! I love that it was super mellow when we came in around 9ish. I purchased a hot vanilla latte and I felt it hit instantly. My eyes felt more awake and I was instantly in love ahahaha!! My daughter got an iced salted Carmel latte and she loved it as well! This is definitely somewhere will be back very soon!
