    Lamb Moussaka
    Naa P.

The plates are large and the indoor decor is culturally relevant and inspiring. If you are looking for a dining experience that's off the beaten path and still filling and tasty--Cazbar is a great option. I had the stuffed eggplant with peppers, onions and topped with cheese and a rich tomato stew. I loved it and the accompanying pickled onion and tomato were a great counter balance. Friends got the Lamb Moussaka and Shrimp kabob. Plates were large and well seasoned. Towards the end of the night we're surprised with a belly dance performance that was entertaining and fun. The service was attentive. Will definitely return.

Came here a few years ago when visiting my friends in MD and we decided to eat here and wow we were happy with the choice as the food was so good and service was amazing and the drinks well done! It's a nice place and clean and I can see how it can be when it's more busy but luckily we went after the lunch rush so it wasn't busy but it's a cool place and yummy food

Went here on a double date and i would definitely return. While we were early and didn't get to see any belly dancing, I'm sure it's a fun experience! Started with the falafelicious pizza and it was cheesy and delicious. 3 of us had lamb chops and the were incredible. Tender and flavorful. Drinks were also good. Service was good but the seemed confused about my dine around Maryland membership at first - they eventually figured it out. Great spot for a date night downtown.

This is my first time at Cazbar, and my family and I had an amazing experience. The ambience of the restaurant is great. The food is really really good. We especially enjoyed the lamb chops and the kunefe dessert. Our server was very helpful, and all his recommendations were delicious. We also came during happy hour, which is on weekdays from 4-6pm. Some of the food is half price during this time, and it was a very good deal. We really enjoyed Cazbar.

Cazbar is excellent! We stopped in here for dinner before a show at the Lyric. The menus are on tablets, which I thought was interesting. Our server was wonderful, explaining different menu items to us as we hadn't been there before. He recommended the Sultan's platter, which had a little taste of everything, and this was perfect! We got to try all of the mezzes, which I loved. Served with house bread, it included hummus, baba ghanoush, saksuka, and other dips. Each were excellent - and the server explained what each one was when served. The entree plate was excellent as well - portions for two for each of the different proteins, including salmon, shrimp, chicken, and beef. Served with either rice and orzo or quinoa. The meal was complimented perfectly with pistachio baklava for each of us. We had plenty of leftovers to take home as well. It was a delicious meal and I will be back!

Came here for lunch couple weeks ago service was great. Ambience was very relaxed. They have a beautiful upstairs. Space you gotta see it. I would definitely return and for the amount of food that you get for $20 is really a great deal, this should be in all the time hangouts but I'll definitely return as well as host some events here.

Cazbar is a hidden gem in downtown Baltimore. We were in town for a wedding and wanted to eat something different before heading out. We lucked up on finding Cazbar. The service and food was amazing, the lamb was my favorite but trying the flatbread was an experience. It was spicy, but I couldn't stop eating it. Now don't underestimate the level of alcohol in the drinks. The pic with the drink in the ice, I had to slowly sip it thru out the meal in order to Make it to the wedding later that evening. There was nothing that we order that wasn't fabulous!! And the server took the extra time walk us thru the menu to ensure we knew about each item. This place was beautiful!!! A must try!

Cazbar is such a vibe. The food was delicious. The salmon was well seasoned and flavorful--I definitely recommend! We missed the belly dance show--I wish they had more times or lasted longer.

Cazbar is a great pick if you like entertainment with your meal! Turkish belly dancers will dance between patrons at certain times of the evening (check website). My friends and I gathered here for a birthday and had a great time. The espresso martini was well made and the chicken sauté (English translation lol) was a generous portion. Everyone enjoyed their picks! Service was stellar!

Went to Happy Hour last time I came here was pre-covid I'm glad they are still open the food was very good and happy hour prices very affordable

    Turkish coffee, delicious!

We visited the Cazbar location in Baltimore City for lunch to celebrate our anniversary and chose the three course lunch special. From the first bite to the last, everything was excellent. The cabbage soup was hearty and comforting, the hummus was smooth and flavorful, and the baba ghanoush had that perfect smoky depth that makes you want to linger over it. The warm bread at the table did not last long because it was too good. For our entrées, I had the kofte kebap and my husband had the chicken kebap. The kofte was rich, perfectly grilled, and full of flavor. It was the kind of dish you finish while already planning to order it again next time. The chicken was tender, juicy, and beautifully seasoned. Portion sizes were generous without being overwhelming, and the prices were more than fair for the quality. Our server, Azlz, gave thoughtful recommendations, surprised us with a Turkish coffee on the house, and made us feel like welcome guests rather than customers. The pacing of the meal was spot on. Plates were cleared and the next course arrived smoothly and efficiently without ever feeling rushed. At one point we asked to move to another table to give a large party more space, and the host did not just agree, he encouraged us to pick whichever table we liked. That kind of easy hospitality stood out. The restaurant itself has a calming atmosphere, with the subtle scent of incense adding to the experience. We could not resist picking up a couple of Dubai chocolate bars for the road. And dessert was the pistachio cream sponge cake, which we shared. It was divine, the perfect middle ground between rich and airy, indulgent but not heavy, and something you will be glad you did not skip. Cazbar delivered on every front: food, service, and atmosphere. A memorable anniversary lunch and a place we would recommend without hesitation.

I was in Baltimore for a conference and some friends and I decided to have dinner here. The food is really good: very flavorful and lots of vegetarian options. We liked everything we ordered. Very comfortable ambiance and nice service. Lovely cocktails. Definitely recommend.

Came for a timeleft dinner. Calamari was tasty and perfectly fried. The Doner pide was *chef's kiss*; not too bready with a good amount of meat. We finished the meal with their baklava (10/10). I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

For a couple of months my friend, who is of Turkish heritage and lives out in Germantown, wanted to meet me closer to my home to go to Cazbar. We went on Saturday, 9/6/25 for lunch (lunch prices are better as why I shot for lunch time). We walked in, and it was fancy Middle Eastern decor. Server was nice & efficient answering questions. I got their take on flatbread pizza called Lamb Pide. Wow, the lamb and pizza as a whole was amazing. My friend got some more expensive platter, which looked good. If I came back, I'd maybe get something like what he got. My friend (& me to a lesser extent) were cogitating on getting a dessert. I think me saying we ate a lot, it's extra calories, & prices are pretty high for dessert, ended up swaying him not to get dessert. Plus, there was a Greek festival and might get a baklava or other dessert there, which I did. Overall, my impression was wow, this place is impression, and I want to go with my girlfriend one of these days, maybe on a weekend before a movie at AMC Columbia or something.

The only thing is that it was super loud and the belly dancing lasted approx 30 mins so if you make a resy during the allotted time you can easily miss it like we did. I would definitely give it another shot, arriving on time!

The service was attentive throughout our meal, and every dish arrived beautifully plated with great attention to detail. We started with the Beyti Sujuk Rolls and the Beetroot Hadiqa. The rolls were one of my favorite appetizers. They were crispy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the yogurt and tomato sauce. The Beetroot Hadiqa was equally impressive, with beets, apples, walnuts...it was a refreshing combination of sweet, savory, and creamy flavors. For our entrees, we ordered the Riyash of Lamb and the Freekeh Short Rib. The lamb chops were cooked beautifully and served over couscous with broccolini, while the pistachio crust added a nice texture. The Freekeh Short Rib was incredibly tender and the rich beef jus paired perfectly with the mushrooms. It was hearty, comforting, and one of the best short rib dishes I've had. The cocktails were just as memorable. I ordered the Asfar So Good, while my partner had the Ashita Affair. Both were beautifully presented with a silky foam on top and were as delicious as they looked. The Asfar So Good was light, refreshing, and well-balanced with subtle floral and citrus notes, while the Ashita Affair had a smooth, creamy texture with pistachio and rose flavors that made it feel almost like a dessert cocktail without being overly sweet. This is definitely on the pricier side, but the quality of the ingredients, presentation, atmosphere, and service justify the cost. Every plate felt thoughtfully prepared, and the overall experience was memorable from start to finish. If you're looking for elevated Middle Eastern cuisine, creative cocktails, and one of the most beautiful dining rooms in Baltimore, Ammoora is absolutely worth the splurge.

The Musakka dishes are served with a side of rice pilaf and the Omelete with a side of fries. Bottom line - all three of us found the entrees to be bland. In fairness, I have only had Greek Musakka before, but I expected more seasoning and flavor, and my friend (the vegetarian) noted that they didn't get a hint of Bechamel - only mozzarella. I tend to agree the entree was heavy on the mozzarella and light on other flavors. We agreed that the rice was very good, both in texture and mild flavor. The french fries also were very good. The service here continues to be beyond excellent. Really good service. If I could give 3.5 as a score, I would, because the service was exceptional. But this is the second time I was here and both times found the entree to be bland. Maybe that's how Turkish food is - if so, please let me know, but I doubt it. The restaurant, which is very attractive and comfortable inside, has been around for 45 years and has an average Yelp score of 4.2. So obviously, a lot of people like it. Plus they have a great track record---they've been around for 44 years. They open for dinner on Saturdays at 5 p.m. That's when we arrived and were greeted and seated immediately. We liked their two top tables as they were wide and able to accommodate several items at once without feeling cramped. Our server was prompt getting to us. To drink, we both had ginger ale. For dinner, I had Filet Mignon Shish which consisted of: "charcoal grilled tender chunks of filet mignon skewered with fresh tomatoes, green peppers and onions. Served with rice pilaf and vegetable du jour". My husband had "Lamb Chops Karaman" which consists of: "Mediterranean cut tender lamb chops grilled to your perfection. Served with vegetable du jour and rice pilaf". Meals come with a side salad which is simply prepared. Our server offered to grind some pepper over them and we agreed. Plus two warm pitas along with butter were served. We found the food to be delicious. My filet mignon was served medium rare and was very tender, moist and flavorful. The grilled veggies were tender crisp. The vegetables du jour were nicely flavored and tender. The pilaf was wonderful---moist and flavorful. My husband really enjoyed his lamb chops. There were four on the plate cooked medium. He found them to be tender and flavorful. He, too, enjoyed the vegetables du jour and the pilaf. We saved room for dessert and ordered the "Mixed dessert tray for two". The selection varies each day so if you want to order this, ask your server what is on the plate that day. When we ordered it, there were 2 small pieces of each item. There was Turkish rice pudding, which was quite good and quite different from what one expects. Also, there was some pumpkin that was sweetened and tender. Creme caramel custard was also on the platter. The baklava was the star of the plate. Kazan makes their own which is orange flavored and awesome! The phyllo dough was crispy and light plus drizzled with honey and the orange flavoring came through clearly. My husband also had a Turkish coffee which he ordered medium sweet. I had Turkish tea which came with 5 sugar cubes on the side. The restaurant was very tastefully decorated with Turkish items. Service from start to finish was excellent. We left feeling like we had enough to eat but not so much that we were stuffed. And, yes, we intend to return!
