Upon entry, I was welcomed with a very pleasing aroma of freshly cooked poultry. The order line was a bit long but for good reason. When I got up to the plate I was a little overwhelmed. Then I locked in and ordered. Towards the end of the line I wanted a topping called pita crisps. But they were out. So I finished up my order not knowing what to expect. But then I saw one of the workers run after me with a cup of pita crisps. These things were so good and added a stellar aspect of crunch to my bowl. To begin, the service was unbelievably slow. It was a mix between not enough staff with slow careless employees. The workers all look so miserable and mad that they're working. It really put me off to the food. I waited in line for over 45 minutes and there were only about 10-15 people in front of me. It wasn't even that busy but there was such a long line because of the slow service. There were times that employees left the line for multiple minutes leaving nobody serving the long line. It's ashame that the food was good because the low rating is strictly due to bad service. read more

This used to be one of my favorite locations but not anymore. 25 mins on line waiting to get my order. All of the workers are young inexperienced teenage boys goofing around near the food, not changing gloves after touching other unsanitary items. I was starving the day that I came here earlier this week. Everyone seemed burnt out and unattentive. That same night after eating from this location I was sick the entire night throwing up with what seemed to be food poisoning or just simply not fresh food. Food is great and I can understand the employees are new and learning but this place is held back by really slow service and their manager, the one who needs to button his shirt a little higher, seems to be the slowest one. He seems nice and friendly but a dinner rush is not the time to be leaving the register for a few minutes to make small talk at the soda machine w the cute girls or to wipe down tables. If you need to step away, have somebody else take over the register so we can get our food and leave. It took me about 20 mins to get my food and the line wasn't terribly long. This is my third time here and I was very disappointed. I ordered my usual custom salad bowl with lamb meatballs and a new item, a falafel pita. I ordered online for pick-up because I know from experience that the lines are long and slow, even after lunch hour. The food was ready 15 minutes after the time I was given online, probably because one person was preparing pickup orders. And she clearly was not happy. I've seen lesser scowls on crying babies. It was pretty clear on my first visit in May, shortly after they opened, that management was a problem and I see it has not improved. The people working here are miserable. I made the mistake of opening the felafel pita in the car because it was 2:30pm and I was hungry and there were no empty tables. Big Big Mistake. Green liquid spilled all over me and the car seat. I'm not even sure what it was, because the felafel pita has 'creamy garlic dressing,' which should not be green. Everything was liquid except for the felafel balls and a few small tomatoes. Where was the roasted eggplant? The pickles? I saw a few stalks of cabbage slaw. It was a complete disaster and the only thing I could do was wrap up what had not spilled all over me, mop myself and the car up with a zillion paper towels, and throw it all out. I suppose I could have gone in to complain & ask for a substitute dish, but this is not the first time I've had a problem at Cava and I'm tired of dealing with them. Very tasty Mediterranean food. It's "Chipotle" style but there are also set menu items. A lot of options. The lemon chicken salad was awesome, packed with flavor and a ton of ingredients. Harissa honey chicken bowl was great too, with a hint of spice. Maine Root sodas are nice too. Try the blueberry. The meals come in bowl, salad, or pita sandwich style. It's not too cheap but it's in line with similar places like Sweetgreen, Chopt, etc. it's quality. Be prepared for a line but it moves quickly. read more

FYI-- The only reason this location has somewhat decent reviews is because a few months ago when they first opened, the manager Pete was bribing customers with free meals to write a 5 star review before they left the store. I was one of those people, now after these past few experiences and multiple chances, especially after this last experience I wont remain silent. This last time was definitely the worst yet. There's usually a line when I go around dinner time (which is expected). This time, not much of a line, maybe 7 people infront of me yet I still end up waiting in the store for over 30 minutes start to finish. They are out of right rice and basmati rice and tell me it's gonna take another 10 minutes at the minimum. I say okay and suck it up and get brown rice.. next they are all out of regular chicken. All I eat is chicken so this forces me to pay an extra $1.75 for the harissa, a chicken I didnt even want in the first place! I find it absolutely ridiculous that I paid $21.69 for a bowl full of stuff I DIDNT EVEN WANT!!! I should've walked out of there when they were out of all of the grains.. $22 for a bowl is an absolute rip off. The manager pete is walking around cleaning down tables talking to his friends, completely unaware of these issues. Forcing an up charge on a customer because you failed your responsibility of having all menu options readily available at all times is a complete joke. This location is so poorly run no wonder every time I come there are new workers! The lack of consistency is an embarrassment to the company I know and used to love from NYC! It seems like they are always out of something and the line system is completely flawed. I love Cava but I am really disappointed with the slow operations of this particular one. We waited for 40 min from the time we went on the line to the time we paid for our food. There was only two workers for the in person order and two workers for the online orders. For the in person workers, one asked for the base, dips, and main, while the other asked for toppings, dressing, took off their gloves, rung customers up, and restart by putting on new gloves (which is what made the service so slow). I've had the cava in Huntington numerous times .. but last night I got cava here in westbury and got really sick. I ate a bowl around 8 pm with brown rice , romaine, chicken , tom/cucumber, feta, taziki, humus, green sauce, pita chips .. tasted fine..a few hours later kept burping up the food and went you bed around 12. I really love the food at Cava but sadly, this location needs a lot of help when it comes to the service. Every time I go there, the line moves soooo slowly and every employee looks like their puppy just died and on the verge of tears. I got a bowl here yesterday at the Westbury location and was very disappointed. My chicken was cold, I paid extra for hard old potatoes and not to mention there was 6 ppl working there but it took 20 minutes to make my bowl.
