Where are the GRAINS with my greens?! Extremely disappointed and angry with this CAVA location. My friend and I walked in at 8:45 PM--they don't even close until 10:30 PM and the manager walked over to an employee and announced that there was no more rice and they weren't making any more. It was a Friday night! There were multiple customers coming in behind us, yet they casually told us they weren't making more rice and had no idea when they would be. It was absolutely ridiculous because we were craving CAVA so badly. Like so so bad. We legit cried in the car afterwards bc all we wanted after a long Friday on the job was our bowls. We literally DIE over the falafel. WHATS IN IT! The falafel literally gives us life!!! (That still doesn't take away from our utter disgust in this establishment ) but honestly, sometimes we just want to order an entire bowl filled with falafel balls, but unfortunately, they don't let us do that either which is RUDE. On our way to upstate New York we stopped by this Cava store on NJ 17 North for lunch. There are lots of parking in front and around the store. Few outdoor tables were available too. It was a very clean and tidy inside. There wasn't much customer only a few, including us. They had all the items lined up in the station, all seemed freshly cooked. I got my favorite braised lamb bowl with tzatziki sauce, rice, lettuce, shrug, and several toppings. It is little bit of pricier but everything in the bowl tasted super delicious. When you need something quick, tasty, and healthy, you can't go wrong with CAVA. I've been to a lot of locations - Paramus (my usual go-to), Wayne, and Edgewater. Today was my first time visiting the Ramsey location and I'm mad that I didn't come sooner. I came on a Monday afternoon and the place was poppin'. Most tables were filled and there was a constant flow of people coming in and out. First of all... the SERVICE? It was like day and night compared to Paramus! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with smiles and warmth. Every employee that helped make my order were so friendly and polite, including the cashier and manager. They were very generous with portions and packed my bowl to the top! I was actually shocked because the Paramus employees are nothing like this... sorry, but it goes to show how much customer service goes a long way. I was also impressed by the cleanliness and organization. The counter/ordering area, drinks station, tables, and trash area were all fairly clean. The toppings, proteins, dips, greens, and grains were fully stocked. They have a designated area for mobile orders, which they kept up with. They seem to be prepared to handle large crowds and rush hours, so kudos to them! Once again... this is like day and night compared to Paramus. I ordered my usual: super greens, brown rice, tzatziki sauce, roasted eggplant, crazy feta dip, grilled chicken, corn, pickled onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, cabbage slaw, feta cheese, and pita crisps all topped with Greek vinaigrette dressing. My bowl was delicious and flavorful! Toppings were so fresh and the chicken was well seasoned. And you can't forget to wash down your meal with one of their refreshing drinks! Today I went with their strawberry citrus and lemonade. Hmmmm I guess I can make a sacrifice... driving through Route 17 aka a hell hole... just to get a better CAVA experience? I think yes. The line servers always move very fast and I understand but it can be a bit overwhelming when you're faced with many delicious choices. My tried and true Cava order is a grain and greens bowl. It contains; white rice, splendid greens, red pepper hummus, crazy feta dip, tzatziki dip, grilled chicken, roasted corn, Persian cucumbers, marinated tomatoes, feta cheese, pickled onions, Kalamata olives, Greek dressing and lemon herb tahini dressing. I know, it sounds like a lot but I promise it is worth trying! My only gripe is they always forget to give you the free side of pita. I would recommend trying Cava and creating your own go to bowl but don't forget to ask for your free side of warm pita! read more

Cava is always a good solid choice if you are craving "fast food" mediterranean. As it isn't exactly fast food it is a lineup where you can pick which proteins you want with grains, in a pita and so forth. I love their falafel bowls, and also the spicy lamb bowl. I love that you can customize the sauces and sides to your liking meaning if you don't like pickled onions, just simply have them remove. It's easy enough to order ahead of time and they will have your order ready to go if you don't feel like dining in. I do feel it is a little pricey so not a placeI frequent that often but always enjoy it when I go. read more

I have no words. This location is very inconsistent. Last week they forgot the dressing for 4 meals. I contacted customer service and they gave me a partial refund. This week I ordered 5 meals for delivery, all with dressing and they sent 3 dressings. We also ordered broccoli in 4 of the meals and it was barely a sprinkle. Am I bit casual with the five stars? Perhaps. But the thing is, my wife and I were hungry after watching a school play and 20 minutes later we were full. Cava is clean, bright, and modern. The staff were friendly and professional. My wife had a chicken and brown rice bowl and I had the spicy greens bowl plus spicy lamb meatballs. The texture and flavor were excellent. I asked for a bowl with lentil and was told it would take 20 minutes to make more lentil, I said I would wait and sat at a table. After 20 minutes, I went to ask if it was ready and the person behind the counter simply went to the Togo section and pulled out a container of lentils that had been sitting there the whole time. No apologies. Nothing. Simply just brought it over from a different section of the restaurant after I had been waiting for 20 minutes. The wide variety of toppings and protein options make it easy to build a delicious and healthy meal every time. The staff is friendly and efficient, keeping the line moving even during busy times. As a person who no longer lives close to a Cava, I had to take advantage of being near one after going on a hike nearby. I stopped by and got my favorite greens and grains bowl with honey harissa chicken. I loaded up my bowl with all of my favorite toppings and took my food to go. As always, the food hit the spot, especially after being on a long, strenuous hike. I had to issues with the service and the restaurant was clean. I had not had CAVA in forever, and it was always one of my favorite quick-service restaurants. So, I was thrilled when my family suggested it for an easy take-out dinner. The Ramsey location was clean and spacious, and the staff was friendly and generous. In addition, the restaurant was still fully-stocked with all ingredients even at 7:00 pm on a Sunday night (often these types of places sell out of items by late afternoon or early evening). As I do at similar restaurants, I skipped the sandwich menu option and selected a bowl instead. I also decided to customize it to my liking, which cost more than their pre-established versions, but ensured I liked everything that it contained. I selected my base of their SuperGreens mix (brussels sprouts, white cabbage, kale, and more) and RightRice®, which was a low-carb "grain" made from lentil, pea, and chickpea flours. I topped that with scoops of 3 different spreads including Harissa, Red Pepper Hummus, and Roasted Eggplant Dip. I also split my main bowl item/protein into two half-portions, ordering both the Grilled Chicken and the Roasted Vegetables, which was a seasonal blend of carrots, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts. I then went crazy with the additional toppings, as they were mainly unlimited (a few carried upcharges). I selected the fiery broccoli, fire-roasted corn, refreshing tomato + cucumber, and briny Kalamata olives. Lastly, though I was able to select up to 2 dressings, I just went with the Yogurt Dill, which was the perfectly cool way to top a bowl that contained spicy items, such as the harissa spread, which packed some serious heat! My meal also included a complementary pita bread. After compiling my masterpiece, I could not wait to get home to devour it, and I was not disappointed. The texture of the falafel balls are fantastic as they are not "gritty" and they are seasoned very well and appear to have herbs to elevate the flavor. The dressings are great....but let me tell you that the Garlic Dressing, which I tried for the first time tonight blows everything else away and lifts the already great flavors of their offerings to a higher level!!! It looks so simple as if it is a thinned out sour cream sauce. However, the perfect amount of garlic added to it compliments and enhances the flavors rather than overpowers the dish. CAVA is a must if you are in the area of one of their restaurants!!!!
