Picked up two chicken gyro bowls and they were delicious. Their gyro chicken was amazing. The staff are very, very nice. Worth the stop!

Mykos is beautifully decorated with flowers and touches of blue to make you experience a touch of Greece. There's lots of seating available and different sections within the restaurant. Valet parking is available. Our waitress, Laura, provided great detail behind the menu and offered suggestions since she knew it was our first time visiting. Our group ordered five appetizers, and they each delivered in taste and presentation. We enjoyed all of them: 1. Colossal Shrimp 2. Grilled octopus 3. Homemade pita with creamy feta 4. Saganaki 5. Mykos Chips with Tzatziki For dinner, many of us enjoyed the moussaka. Other stand out entrees included the halibut and grilled chicken. Highly recommend a side of the lemon potatoes. Dessert also delivered! We loved the apple pie and pistachio martinis. With lively music and dancing, Mykos provides a fun night out for any celebration. I'm excited to return again!

While a bit over-priced compared to the portions, the service, atmosphere and food was 5-Star. Not being an expert at Eastern Med food, I can't speak for it's authenticity, but my wife Masuka and beet salad were awesome, and I enjoyed my 2 appi's (Fluke and Octopus) and my roasted chicken was very flavorful. These are unique tastes, and well prepared and presented. My only hesitation regarding the 5-stars is the price -- which seems a bit much.

Like a lot of these spots, the tables are very close to each other so don't expect privacy especially if you're just two people. They have a decent menu with pita sandwiches, salads, appetizers, souvlaki platters, seafood and a kids menu, as well as specials. We enjoyed the falafel pita ($12.75, not dry and soft pita, hummus sauce but no tzaziki) and the shrimp platter ($25, on a bed of pita bread, fries [similar to diner fries] and a small side of pilaf rice for $4.5). It would have been nice if both entrees came with a side salad (or something) to complete the meal. I had my eye on the moussaka but there was no vegetarian version and they didn't have a spanakopita platter either. Also no complimentary pita, tapenade or chips, unlike some other Greek places. Since they seem to be pretty busy, service is fine and tries to keep it moving. Some people entered and had to wait for a table but staff didn't seem to rush anyone who was languishing a bit out. There was a steady stream of customers and takeout orders which likely speaks to a consistent experience. Their to-go bags were actually blue reusable bags, which I thought was a nice touch. Bring cash because credit card orders tack on almost 4% to the bill. The location isn't the best atmosphere wise (shopping plaza near Shop Rite and next to a Jersey Mike's) - small but not intimate - but on the plus side, parking is easy. If you miss the turn and go into Shop Rite, you can still get to the restaurant without going back on the main street.

The building itself is white with with a blue door and accents and the walkway from the entrance to the dining area is decorated with sculptures in recessed cubbies in the wall. The main dining room is spacious and inviting with a lush ceiling and touches of warm, golden furnishings. It was bustling on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Diners were seated indoors and outdoors. We didn't get a chance to see the outdoor space but on a hot and sunny day, my family was fine and comfortable in the shade indoors. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Once I was seated and waiting for the rest of my party, he advised the time for last orders to be placed. My party of 6 ordered almost every appetizer and several of the limited number of mains offered on the lunch menu. The appetizers came out as they were ready. The beet salad and lobster salad came out first and were refreshing. The saganaki and watermelon appetizer was an interesting pairing and surprisingly delightful. We ordered two of the grilled octopus as it's usually a favorite within my group when dining at a Greek or Mediterranean establishment. Unfortunately, the octopus came chopped in small pieces and was uninteresting. IMHO this dish is not worth the price or the calories. Of the set of 4 spreads/dips, all were tasty and went nicely with the accompanying pita bread. We ended up doubling on this. The crispy shrimp and calamari, eggplant and zucchini chips, and the Greek meatballs were satisfying and a hit with everyone. Despite the disappointment with the grilled octopus, overall the appetizers were much more impressive than the entrees. For our mains, we got 2 of the filet mignon with eggs, the sirloin burger, the Lountza sandwich, the chicken souvlaki, the crispy shrimp wrap, and the shrimp roll. If we had to rank these dishes, the chicken would top the list, followed by the sirloin burger, and the rest would be last. Consistency in preparation and flavor profiles of the dishes is lacking. For example, we requested the filets cooked medium, however one filet was medium in some parts, medium rare in others. Personally, I enjoy medium rare and ate those pieces. As for the other filet, it was medium rare and borderline rare and inedible for my party. We requested additional heat for the dish, which the kitchen accommodated, but the meat came back basically well done SMH. While the chicken and burger were juicy and appetizing, the other dishes, albeit topped with many ingredients, were bland. Perhaps the kitchen was overwhelmed, which resulted in receiving our entrees about two hours after placing the order and the poor, or at least decline in quality of, execution of our dishes. Considering the restaurant has been open almost two years, it is normal to expect experience in managing the weekend crowds. While we were advised about the hard stop on placing orders, it was a missed opportunity for our waiter to check if we wanted to add desserts to our meal. No warning or follow-up was made as the cutoff time was approaching. Normally, I would praise the experience and service, but the final straw was in the handling of leftovers and with the valet. We had several unfinished or untouched dishes we wanted packed to go. Upon checking the containers at home, not everything was packed. When waiting outside for our cars, one of our cars was already pulled up with the door open and ready to be driven away. Problem was, the car belonged to my sister, who was in the restroom at the time and had her ticket. Anyone could've driven her car away. Thankfully the valet cooperated and drove the car to the side and my sister retrieved it without incident. Overall, the experience was lengthy and off-putting. If you need a beautiful space with a good selection of small bites and have hours to spare, e.g. a special event, then this place is for you. If you are interested in a full meal, and have only 2-3 hours for a meal, this is not the place for you.

I hadn't had mediterranean in a while and I'm not head over heels for the place near me so I wanted to try something new. This place seemed decent enough. I ordered a greek salad and hummus with pita. There were varying gyros, another greek salad with chicken, some platters including the falafel platter that GF orderd. My salad was wonderful. The ingredients were fresh and that dressing was lovely. It was a salad I actually enjoyed instead of regretting the entire time I glared at my coworkers who ordered real shit with envy. The hummus was also very creamy, authentic hummus with a slightly different taste than I am used to but head and shoulders above any store bought bullshit. Everyone else said good shit about their food. I tried one of GF's falafel from her platter and it was really good. My only complaint is for $24 or whatever it is, i would expect more than a few falafel balls and one side. Kinda a rip off. But everything tasted really, really good.
