There was a large variety of slices offered. I only problem I had was choosing because I wanted to explore them all. Caprese Slice: This slice is smothered in pesto sauce and topped with feta and chunks of tomato. You will definitely need a fork and knife to finish this wedge. Drink Angry Nonna Slice: This slice is cooked in vodka sauce, topped with pepperoni cups, and drizzled in hot chili oil. While the other slices have an appearance identical to an isosceles triangle, the nonna looks like a scalene triangle. Regardless, it is the taste, not the shape, that matters. Both slices were a home run! They had excellent undercarriage and no flop, which is why they were very crispy. The ratio of sauce was proportioned perfectly and they were loaded with toppings. I was also pleased they each slice was served on a glass plate. The interior has a nice ambiance. A small casual style dining area is off to the left of the pizzeria. The main dining room is located on the right side, where customers can order three course dinners and bring their own bottle of alcohol. Owner Andrew made me feel right at home. He welcomed me into the restaurant and I am really looking forward to returning for a nice dinner in the main dining area. #cousinspizza #cousinspizzanorwood #drunkangrynonnaslice #drunkangrynonna #capreseslice

Wisely recognized as America's oldest tavern with its stone facade, the Old '76 House, located on Main Street in Tappan, has been welcoming guests and was restored to its pristine condition by the Norden family. Step inside, and nearly every corner tells a story that served as a meeting place for local patriots during the American Revolutionary War. It also welcomed General George Washington for dining on occasion. He once received plans at the establishment that exposed Benedict Arnold as a traitor--prompting a dramatic reaction still talked about today. Upon entering without a reservation today for lunch, my partner and I were greeted by the host and got a cozy table by the fireplace with original Delft tiles in the Tap Room. The interior features rustic beamed ceilings, four fireplaces, vintage portraits, historical certificates and documents, as well as costumes and artifacts where patrons were able to walk around and marvel at them. The menu reflects the tavern's heritage, with dishes inspired by early American cuisine. We decided on the Thanksgiving Sandwich accompanied with fries and the Traditional American Meatloaf over Mashed Potatoes and Steamed Vegetables. For dessert, we shared Hannah's Apple Crunch with vanilla ice cream. But even more than the great and delicious food was the history, ambiance, and especially the way we were treated. Our server was Joe and checked on us often. The portion was healthy and the price comparable to the area's. If one has even a passing interest in American history, then it's a must to come here. Not just a meal, but an experience!

There's a small parking lot in the rear and a bigger lot across the street, although both can fill up when the restaurant gets busy. This place gets absolutely packed and I think it's simply because the food is good. It's not cheap -- in fact, some prices will make you do a double take (yes, olives for $16). Wine by the glass is steep too. That said, some things feel like a much better value. Our "half" pitcher of sangria basically came in a full-sized pitcher filled more than halfway and tasted great. Plenty for two. A lot of the menu is also easily shareable. We split the beet salad and it was big... enough for a couple. Fresh, flavorful and satisfying. Then we shared the paella Valenciana, another huge portion loaded with fatty chorizo, chicken, shrimp, scallops, clams and mussels in flavorful saffron rice. Really balanced ratio of seafood, meat and rice instead of just being a giant pile of filler. Btw -- it gets friggin loud in here. Families with kids, couples, groups of friends, older folks... the whole place was buzzing. Pretty wild atmosphere. It's also very casual for a place serving food at these prices -- servers walking around in jeans, energetic vibe, packed tables everywhere. Service was a little meh. Adequate, but nothing friendly. I'm also not a fan of places where the waiter clears appetizer plates but deliberately leaves the dirty fork sitting on the table for the next course. Bleh. Overall though, the food is legitimately very good. Expect a loud, busy dinner with strong portions, tasty sangria, a specials menu without prices and a 3% credit card fee added at the end.
