After our visit, we decided to walk around town. There were a lot of restaurants open, but they mostly empty. The Breakfast & Burger Club seemed to be really busy. That being said, I figured it must be a good place to eat. We sat down at a table in the restaurant. The server came over with menus and water. We decided to share a Chicken Cobb Wrap along with a Root beer. The IBC Root beer was good. Anyway, it took a very long time for our order to come out. While we were waiting for the food, I noticed a strong smell of cooking oil. The server kept apologizing for the wait. The order finally came out. We were so starving at that point. The wrap tasted very dry, so unlike any Cobb salad. There was no avocado, no bacon etc... In addition, the fries were soggy and cold. I took a good look at the wrap and it had to be a Chicken Caesar wrap. My bf thought the same thing. There was no sense in sending it back, since we already ate some of it. We were charged for a Cobb salad wrap $17.45. However, the Caesar wrap was the same price, so we didn't bother saying anything. The male server and root beer were the restaurant's only highlights. Street parking is available.

The macaroni and cheese had the perfect combination of cheeses. I had the breakfast scramble...tasted like a crustless quiche. The star of the show was the fried chicken. It was perfectly seasoned...the flavor was through the chicken. The mimosa...don't remember the juice..was so good. The live music was a nice touch. One I issue was the service. Our server seemed overwhelmed. Another server didn't comprehend or speak English well. Also the bartender left during our stay-so my party didn't order additional drinks. Another issue was there are no appetizers on the weekend! I really wanted some wings!

Once seated and prior to ordering, we received a lovely basket of sweet potato muffins and a buttermilk biscuit drizzled with honey. They were absolutely delicious! The very friendly chef came to our table to welcome us, and talk about these special muffins. We were also warmly greeted by the restaurant manager. As for our meal, we had 2 orders of the chicken and waffles, collard greens, and macaroni and cheese. The chicken was hot, crispy, and perfectly seasoned, and the waffles were light and fluffy. The macaroni and cheese was also delicious, but the greens were very heavily salted. Overall, the portions were generous. As for the live entertainment, it perhaps begins later in the afternoon, maybe after 2pm? Our reservation was at 1pm, and the guitarist arrived just as we were finishing our meal. My one critique is the reservation process. The only take reservations by phone, and during the limited hours that they are open. The person with whom I made my reservation made some errors. Fortunately, another staff member contacted me twice the day prior to my reservation to clarify the time and date. Having the ability to use an online reservation platform would have been easier and more accurate.

Today we lucked into a table for a late Valentine's Day lunch! Definitely a cute and modern cafe with comfortable seating. Waitress and the rest of the staff were excellent. My wife enjoyed an Asian noodle salad. I loved the poached egg dish that featured Hollandaise, smoked salmon, and was served on a Portuguese muffin. Really nicely prepared! Unsweetened tea was also good. We look forward to returning!

Matt and Marris make you feel like part of their family the moment you walk in, and it is ABSOLUTELY genuine! Their passion is clear. The menu is thoughtfully curated, highlighting both creativity and quality ingredients. Every time I eat there, I find myself smiling; the concerns of the day or week float away. The care and detail in everything presented to the diner are so thoughtful. The drinks deserve just as much praise and are beautifully crafted. If you're lucky enough to visit on a night when Izzy is behind the bar, consider yourself fortunate. He's not only a "DJ" of cocktails, but warm, friendly, and fun to be around. Honestly, sitting at the bar is just as good as, if not better than, a seat in the dining room. We travel from Manhattan just to come here, and Hudson House never disappoints. It's the kind of place you find yourself returning to again and again, and recommending to everyone you know.

Someone in our party, told me there was a 4 charge for bread. I was getting a pasta dish, so I wanted it anyway. Needless to say bread never came, but it was on the bill. They removed the charge. I guess I'm just getting cheap in my old age. For 375 can't I get a decent pour and a piece of bread

I was visiting friends in Nyack and wanted to bring something special instead of the usual bottle of wine or grocery store dessert. This turned out to be exactly the right place. The display case was filled with beautiful French pastries, fortunately, they tasted every bit as good as they looked. What really stood out was seeing so many locals hanging out enjoying coffee and fresh pastries. That's always a good sign that you've found an authentic neighborhood gem rather than just a place catering to visitors. BB

They had some interesting looking thick quiches, things like croissants, cakes, tarts and macarons (the girl behind the counter corrected my friend by saying "macaroon" which is technically incorrect). I'm a sucker for a good bread pudding but i should have reconsidered since that was the thing they seemed to have plenty of. They didn't heat that or the pear Tartlett up; eating them both cold was unsatisfactory (I know we should have said something but then a line was forming) and I felt sick after eating the bread pudding (perhaps too rich and just too cold and sad). I didn't feel very comfortable in the space, as I was expecting something more quaint and charming vs. old and in need of a makeover and cleaning. This was one experience so I would give it another shot, maybe earlier in the day. Metered street parking or there's a municipal lot around the corner.

Well, it looked a lot better than what it was. It was totally bland and certainly not a pound and a half of lobster meat. It was truly disappointing. We ordered some oysters which were fresh and tasty but that lobster salad was definitely lacking. All in all the first visit hands down was truly a nice affair but our second visit was disappointing. I ordered an old fashioned that came to the table red, and when I questioned the look the waiter assured me it was an old fashioned. Upon tasting it, it had the correct ingredients, but so little bourbon that the color and balance of the drink was off. Then, for the entrees, we both ordered the filet mignon au poivre. The steak was fine, as were the vegetables, but not worth $44 by any stretch. On top of that, the "frites" were clearly frozen rather than freshly made. The waiter was nice, and we enjoyed the ambiance. But we were blown away by the gap in quality of the food and its cost. When you visit French restaurants you expect a certain tier of cuisine that Brasserie seems to be emulating on the surface but swinging and missing on in reality. Not worth the visit unfortunately. Try elsewhere and you'll undoubtedly be more satisfied.
