CAVA just opened it's doors from across Bryant Park and it is fully staffed with many people making that salad. My -build it- was a Supergreens Mix and it had a mix in of a few greens and I did find cut up with a half of brussel sprouts in the bowl. I asked for a tiny bit of black beans and they gave me a little as I asked. You can get a bowl of greens, grains or mix the two. Then they have a pita choice I recommend. The mini pita they give is crisp and has char marks. I made a mini salad/protein-meatball gyro out of my -Protein- selection of four beef meatballs. Very flavor meatballs in terms of tasty meat and the flavor inside, which I assume they add some seasoning to the meatballs. They have lamb meatballs + braised lamb for +1.75 to your order too which I will try next time. I think the Dips+Spreads is a major flavor add to the bowls. I chose tzatziki, crazy feta and roasted red pepper hummus (light kick). The tzatziki could have been thicker but it was medium in sour + herb flavor. The crazy feta had a creamy feta taste to win me over -as a non-loving feta person-. The staff friendly, welcoming and super efficient to handle the long line. I added almost every topping there was. My favorite being the pickled banana peppers and the 1 mint leaf crushed in. The pita chips definitely helps add a factor to the salad bowl...being crisp bites in the salad mix as I eat the salad. What did I say about the Dips+Spreads? The fifth choice selection in my bowl is yogurt dill, green harissa and sriacha greek yogurt (Dressings). As if my bowl didn't have enough heat and herb flavor. Aww. No Avocados? No Guacamole? I guess it's not a Mediterranean food? Of the three teas black tea is good, lemonade tart enough to wake you up a little but the blueberry lavender was like a walk on the beach The only factor is there's no seating, no restroom and not as cool in temperature inside. But the cup of ice helps. And I ate my salad in Bryant Park. I didn't bother checking Wifi, this is not a place to linger. It is a order your food, we serving the heavy foot traffic lunch crowd, and get out (in a friendly way) CAVA. To be continued...only because I will be back. read more

Great lunch choice! The staff has been super attentive and friendly so far. This place gets packed but no worries you can pre-order online or walk right right in because the line moves fairly quickly. You can earn points by ordering online as well. Pita Wrap: don't be fulled by the size...it's very filling Salad Bowl: not a huge fan of the 'super greens' but there's other options. Great option if you want something filling but light. Falafel: not the best I've had but good none the less. They actually leave chunks of chickpeas in it which is different. Sauce Faves (all the sauces/dressings are flavorful and have a GREAT consistency): - Tzatziki - Eggplant & Red Pepper Dip - Roasted Red Pepper Hummus - Lemon Herb Tahini - Red Pepper Chickpea I've already been twice in one week and will definitely be a regular here. read more

CAVA is a fantastic spot for healthy, quick, reasonably priced food with pretty large portion sizes. It's also easy for vegans/vegetarians to sort out what has dairy and whatnot because the allergen information on the back of their menus. This place is like the Mediterranean version of chipotle meets sweetgreen. Need I say more? I started off with a base of greens and grains (super greens blend and black lentils- love the lentils!). I got the falafel as the protein. Their falafel is excellent- it isn't dry, had a lot of flavor, and there are even chunks of whole chick peas in there. There are many dips to choose from, I got the hummus, eggplant, and harissa. The harissa was the best flavor wise, but it is also on the spicier side. They have a myriad of toppings to choose from and you can't go wrong with any of them. To top it all off I got the lemon tahini dressing- delicious! I'm not typically impressed by build-your-own (and generally overpriced) salad places. However, one day last week I was without lunch and decided to give Cava a try. The fact that it was Mediterranean gave it a leg up over Sweetgreen, Chopt, Hale and Hearty etc etc. I did the build a bowl option and ordered on the website. It's easy to use and makes it clear how many of each item you can get before it ups the price. It also shows the calorie estimate on the side, so you can keep that shiz under control. I like that it let's you do half portions or double up on items e.g. you can pick three dips but you can select double hummus. I did a half beluga lentils/half super greens base and half falafel/half roasted veggies as the protein. I added hummus, red harissa, tomato/cucumber and chose two dressings - green harissa and lemon tahini. I thought I selected double olives but it ended up being double cabbage (oops). The bowl totalled about 430 calories. Overall I was impressed. The falafel was great, moist not dry. I liked the beluga lentils and the hummus, and the harissa built some heat. Next time I'd switch super greens for baby spinach, they were a little raw and crunchy for my taste. I'd also get the full falafel portion and skip the roast veg, triple the hummus (not enough for the whole bowl) and make sure I got olives instead of cabbage. All in all pretty good and more interesting to me than the other salad chains around. I'd come again if I found myself without lunch. read more

I love this place! The food at Cava is amazing! But this place is not the one during lunch hours. I've even had to request money back and file complains because my order often gets missed or lost. Overall, the place is great for a healthy meal and definitely affordable. I would just recommend avoiding lunch time. And this includes the whether you order online and ahead of time. You can order online which is a huge plus and build your own meal. It gives you the option to set a pick up which can help with planning ahead. Went in around 3pm when not that many ppl around. It was my first time there. Ppl were patiently explaining different hummus and sauce to me. I love how this place can customize almost everything for me. I got half yellow rice and half arugula as base, and when I was debating between the proteins, the lady was like "would you like half and half?" - of course! Rarely places allow you to do protein half n half. I did half lamb which turned out to be quite a lot and soooo yummy and half cauliflower which was also great. Hummus I recommend the one that's spicy (in red color) and the one mixed with peppers. Then lots of veggies on top again and I asked for a pita as side - it's warm pita! Got 2 sauces on the side. Both were tasty. Total for me was less than $15 and it was a lot of food. Def worth it and will go back again! read more

One of my absolute go-to's during the work week! It gets super busy here and the line gets long real fast so I recommend ordering online. There's at least a half hour interval from when you order to when you can pick up. Their half grain and half greens portion is very filling and keeps me full for the entire day even til dinner! Pita is always fresh. I recently tried their pita chips today and - ITS SO GOOD! My order was set to pick up at 1:30pm, but they had to make fresh pita chips [I guess they ran out] so it took an extra 10 mins, even though it was so busy the staff still offered me a drink while I was waiting. Anyway, the pita chips was hot and toasty. Super delicious! And then they apologized for the wait [it was really only 8 mins outside of my scheduled pick up time]. I was at a client and decided to stop in and grab a quick lunch. The line was long but it moved relatively fast. It's a fast casual lunch spot with no seating but Bryant Park is across the street. It's set up just like any chipotle; you pick you base, your meat, toppings and dressings. I decided to get rice, falafel, the eggplant, roasted pepper, taziki, lettuce, quiona, siracha greek, and tomatoes and cucumbers. The food was very filling and deff enough for one person for lunch. I would deff come back here as the service is quick and the food was good! If I didn't eat my food so quick I would have taken a picture of it. read more

The food is good. There are some NASTY people working at this location. I understand it's hectic during lunchtime and you want to get people's orders quickly. But when I'm halfway down the line and tell you I don't know which dips I want because I want to see what they look like, that's not unreasonable for a 13 f*cking dollar lunch. The nasty woman behind the counter rolled her eyes and put her head down and started shaking her head like I'm the most ridiculous person in the world for wanting to see what I'm putting on my salad. You might want to invest in hiring people who understand what customer service is, not losers who resort to rude, aggressive behavior. *this was the woman employee doing the dip selections at 1:00 today. One of my lunchtime haunts! This place is an actual machine, pumping out orders without a sweat or a break. It's always incredibly packed here so definitely be prepared to wait in a long line (sometimes out the door). Even if you try to cheat the system and order through the app, you'll have to face a delay in pickup times in the app (2:30pm pickup when you order at noon. It is so worth it though, the quality of ingredients and flavor is amazing! I always get the greens and grains with no shortage of chicken, veggie, and hummus toppings. The pita chips are also to die for and always have me carb loading. Even with the long lines, they do a good job of churning out ordered, the staff has it down to a science. Preordering online is no longer worth it because you'll be standing in a sea of 30-40 sweaty people, all desperate to get lunches they ordered 30 mins ago. People are so desperate that they might even steal your food. Glad to see this place has had so much success, but until they can actually handle the volume of orders they're willing to take online and in store, I'll be sticking to my local deli. read more
