First time I had Cava and I must say I was very impressed! Fresh ingredients, healthy, big portions, and great prices is what comes into mind. You can choose between ~4 types of veggies or grains, choose 3 out of ~6 dips, pick 1 out of ~4 proteins, have unlimited toppings, and top it off with a sauce of your choice. Eggplant dip, chicken are my favorites here! The tzatiki sauce was also great, and the lemon herb tahini taste fantastic and healthy. There's no inside seating here so beware, but that's usually fine as you can take your food across the street and eat at Bryant park. Would come back here again if I need a quick, healthy, and decently priced meal! read more

Went to NYC for the first time, and on our way to the SUMMIT ONE Vanderbilt, someone came out this spout and it smelled sooo yummy! We wanted to return to try it. So later in the evening, we had it for dinner. It was sooo good! I had the spicy chicken pita sandwich. I ate it all till the last bite!! I went to cava today (6/11/25) around 2:30pm. While the other servers were extremely nice, this one server (he was at the vegetable counter at the time) was extremely impertinent. The other servers had no problem hearing me, but the moment I started speaking to him about my order, he told me to speak up in a very passive aggressive tone. Throughout the entire time I was ordering, he kept on yelling at me. I have NEVER experienced this kind of treatment at a restaurant. He could have just said "could you please speak up?" Instead he continued to talk to me in a passive aggressive tone. I was so stunned that I wasn't even able to say anything back to him. Even after we left the restaurant, my friends were asking what had happened and asked me if I got scolded by him. I seriously hope he doesn't treat other customers like this. NO customer should ever have to go through what I went through. He should seriously learn some manners. I regret not getting his name. I actually liked this place more than I thought I would. I'm usually a little hesitant with these kinds of places where you get to mix and match your ingredients because usually the lettuce is floppy, the meats are dry, or all the sauces and flavors don't mix well together. I found their salad mixes to be fresh. I enjoyed the lentil base as it was filling but not too heavy. You can select a meat (I got the chicken which wasn't dry), and as MANY toppings as you want which was my favorite. Their dressings are also good. Everything complemented each other well no matter what I chose to put in my bowl. It was refreshing and a good, healthy meal. Really great prices too for something that must've weighed 1-2 pounds (at least mine anyway- maybe I'm also exaggerating but it was heavy!). The only thing I didn't like was the pita bread as it was rather dry and tasteless, but I would definitely go back for the bowls! read more

This is not only the best Cava in all existence but it is easily one of the best fast-casual spots in NYC. Why? Exquisite Service .every .single time. Generous/ fair portions/servings. Ingredients are always super fresh. Dining area is always consistently clean. The staff is extremely friendly and hard working. My order is always correct, delicious, and made quickly. Wanted something light and healthy for diner and a lot of greens of course. Just yelped "salad" in search and this spot caught my interest since I love Mediterranean cuisine. You get to build your own bowl and I picked Greens + Grains as my base, Harissa Honey Chicken as my protein (which is really flavorful and tasty), Red Pepper Hummus + Hummus + Tzatziki (you get to choose 3 spreads and these are the recommended spreads from the staff), corn + cucumber + tomatoes as my toppings with a little bit of Yogurt Dill as my dressing. All I can say is I'm super satisfied with everything in the bowl. You don't even need a lot of dressing because the spreads are more than enough for the flavoring. It was so good that I finished the entire bowl! I've never had CAVA before and I'm so glad to have tried it out. This will be my go to place if I every crave a quick Mediterranean salad bowl. read more

Fool me once, shame on you . Fool me twice, shame on me. I can't believe I gave them another try. They tease you with a really big bowl making you think you are going to have a really big meal for your $13.30. But they have trained their staff well on serving control, and you get a pretty ordinary sized salad, with exactly the amount of everything they intend you to get. A small scoop of hummus, a few falafel, etc. They give you a small piece of Pita bread (maybe 1/16 of a round), but that's it. The falafel was a bit mushy but not terrible. The cold toppings are really COLD, as in almost frozen which is jarring along with the hot portion of the meal. They do have brown rice, which was a nice surprise. Would I give them a third try? I don't think so, but you never know when you will be really hungry and they will be the only place open. This branch of CAVA is definitely made for the lunch and "on the way home" crowd. Located right across from Bryant Park, don't expect to be able to sit down and relax here. This is strictly a *to go* location only. When you first walk in, there is a mobile pick up area and a section with bags, napkins and utensils for you to pack up your order. Deeper inside is a long counter where you start at the back and work your way towards the cashier station. Both times I have gone it was after work so the staff seemed to be in the middle of both cleaning up the place for he night and serving people at the same time. The staff looked absolutely exhausted, but I will give credit where it is due. Despite their obvious exhaustion the staff was very nice and got my order together without a problem. I give high marks to them for this. The food here is very good. It is not the best Mediterranean food ever, but for a fast casual place it makes for a good lunch or dinner. I've tried various combinations of their dishes and he only one I would probably not get again is the falafel. They are no the traditional, crunchy ones, but instead are some type of softer kind that's not really to my personal taste. I don't know. I don't have words. CAVA has been and continues to be among my top three lunch spots in the city for about three years now, and I have tried more than my share of options. I have never visited this location without seeing a line stretching out the door, spilling far down 42nd St, nearly to the Sweetgreen a few doors down, if that can speak for itself. The menu is simple yet expansive, caters to almost every diet and palate, can be made healthy or hearty depending on your choices of toppings and spreads and dips, and despite its midtown surroundings, it maintains its reasonable pricing across all of its outposts. I like ordering ahead on their website by designating a pickup time, so I can skip straight ahead and pick up my bowl sorted alphabetically for ease. If you have the planning to order ahead, really consider including CAVA in your staple rotation. Ingredients-wise, I can vouch for the: Basmati rice and supergreens bases; eggplant + red pepper, harissa (!!), tzatziki, crazy feta dips; falafel and grilled chicken proteins; nearly alllllll of the toppings and dressings (nearly because there's a couple I haven't tried yet). read more

Some of the workers are terrible. The young lady gets handed my pita to wrap up. She doesn't know how to do it, so instead of asking for help, she just mumbles "I don't know how to do that", and "I don't mess with burritos", wraps it super sloppy and falling apart, and hands it to the next guy. The kid working the cash register is asking everyone for five star reviews on yelp to get a discount and waiting for them to do it, while there is a long line backing up because he is checking out one person every three minutes (it's an assembly line and he is the only one working the register - pitas and bowls are lined up waiting for him to check out). I wouldn't have thought to write this one star review if it weren't for him. Now I am standing on the train because it took so long waiting for mr. yelp, and I just made a mess eating a sloppy pita that had already come apart before I opened it. So I had to write a review.
