She asked me to get my email confirmation. I walked back to my office, printed out my confirmation and walked back to their shop. She looked at my printout and said "Oh, we go by first name here". WHAT! I said why didn't you just ask me before if what I had given was my first name!?!??! How am I supposed to know your shop goes by first name!!!!??? We stopped by this restaurant for a healthy dinner after a long day of tours and we enjoyed the food. The ambiance was very casual but the food was good. We ordered the Thai chicken crunch salad, the Tokyo Supergreens chicken salad, a turmeric juice and a chicken noodle soup. My boyfriend really liked his chicken noodle soup and I really liked my turmeric drink. The chicken on the salads was just average and we were really shocked the restaurant didn't have a washroom. Great salad place with fast efficient service and healthy food. It's a similar setup to the plethora of similar salad places now popular across the country. I ordered the Chicken Shawirma salad. It didn't have a ton of chicken but was loaded with healthy vegetables and just a light dressing. The calorie count was reasonable for lunch. The line quickly grew after I left but their method of having a server fill out the menu card helps speed prep and paying. Recently I have changed my route going home once a week, walking from Columbus Circle to Port Authority Bus Terminal. Wanting to find a healthy spot to grab a dinner in between the two points, I jumped on the chance to go to this branch of Just Salad (in part to use my Black Bowl, which gets you a couple extra items in your salad). I used to be an avid Just Salad person but when work got way too busy for me to take proper lunch breaks, it was hard to go out and visit the restaurants. Since those days, their logo has been simplified and the orange and green colors that so dominated their marketing and locations have made way for more modern blues and silvers. This location is next to many other eateries so it has limited space for seating (mostly bar style chairs along the window at a counter). When you go in you order then move around an L shaped counter until you reach the cashier. When I was a regular at Just Salad, my favorite salad was the Turkey Health Cobb with the smokey Poblano Dressing. I love its combination of ingredients (some meat, some cheese, nice greens etc.) and the dressing has some killer flavor. So of course, that's what I ordered. Each time I've gone the past few weeks the employees were thrown off a bit by the Black Bowl because of the extras it provides, but they worked through it and I was by no means unhappy with the service. Unlike the old days, Just Salad "pre chops" all its ingredients now. Personally, I preferred those days. While the ingredients are pre chopped, some bits are still a bit bigger than I would like. That said, flavor wise the salad is still on point and tastes like the salad I remember. I have enjoyed my visits to this branch so far, but keep in mind I have not gone during any rush times so it may be a very different place during those times. read more

Just Salad used to be my favorite place to grab a salad for lunch as I was obsessed with the buffalo chicken salad (substitute the celery for cucumber) and the Thai chicken crunch salad. Both chopped. (The chopped part is very important and you'll see why a little later). Over the last month or so I've been noticing subtle changes. Maybe it was the fact that I ate there at least three time a week. First, the buffalo chicken that's used in the salad started to be less and less sauced. I asked management and they said they stopped pre-saucing (is that a word?) the chicken so they could use it in a wider array of salads. Ok, that's understandable, but then the overall quality of the chicken started to decline. Despite this, I preserved. Until about a week or so ago, I went to grab lunch and I was told that they no longer chop the salads. [insert gasps here] with the rationale that they pre-chop all ingredients smaller. [spoiler alert: this is false]. While this may not seem like a big deal, but any chopped salad eater and co-sing my frustration here. I come here almost everyday. This place is pretty clean and they seem to do a good job at quickly processing orders and being attentive to your needs. When ordering through seamless, they definitely make it seamless as i've only run into issues maybe twice only because i came at lunch rush hour so orders can take a bit longer since everyone is either trying to pay or delivery guys are trying to get their orders.
