Got this delivered to the office via DoorDash. Was pretty happy with the quality and taste of the bowl. I chose bulgogi bowl with noodles as my carbs and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely order it again..
I had a delivery order and the food was quite good. I tried the Shrimp Summer Rolls which had a creamy peanut dipping sauce. It was tightly wrapped with tasty shrimp and fresh vegetables. The Lemongrass Chicken Bowl with extra chicken was overflowing with moist tasty chicken thigh, clearly marinated, with a nice taste of lemongrass, pickled vegetables and the requested brown rice. The Beef Bulgogi Bahn Mi, a cross between Korean beef in a Vietnamese sandwich, had bread that was a tad crunchy outside and soft in the inside with nicely seasoned beef. In all, a good delivery order, well packed and quick, too. Highly recommended.
While in Midtown, I decided to grab lunch and try something different, so I went with JoJu, a Vietnamese spot. This was my first time trying Vietnamese food, and I was excited. I ordered a Beef Bulgogi Bowl and a Beef Bulgogi Banh Mi (sandwich). The first bite of the bowl was yum--it really hit the spot. The flavors were rich, and each ingredient had its own distinct taste, which I loved. The sandwich was also good, but I personally preferred the bowl and would definitely come back for it. The place is cute, with a nice space to sit and eat. The staff works super fast--we got our order within 5 minutes.
Fast, clean, and cool in this heat. I added a runny egg in my sandwich and some spicy sauce for my fries. I am more than content! Very professional and kiosk oriented.
I ordered a Carmel Pork Bahn Mi for pick up. I got it with spicy mayo, jalapeños, and green sauce. It was terrific!!!! It has a nice amount of heat, but not too much. Great sandwich, will order again. The pickled vegetables were delicious
Oh my! The sandwiches were amazing and they definitely did not skimp on the meat. Definitely filling!
The Caramel Pork Banh Mi is always on point! Joju has been my go to banh mi place since it opened its location in Manhattan. The fries are also the best! They are so crispy and I think adding the vegetables and spicy sauces on the Joju fries is so original. But the kimchi fries are also great too if you like kimchi. It gets crowded during the lunch rush on weekdays and I wish they were open for dinners/weekends but I'll take what I can get. This place never disappoints!
One of the best banhmi places in NYC! I've been a customer of their original location in Elmhurst for many years and a fan of their midtown location too. The food quality is consistent between the restaurants, and service is friendly and efficient. The sandwiches are filled with plenty of tasty ingredients--aside from the main protein there's a terrific pickled carrot/daikon mix, fresh cucumber and cilantro. If your sandwich doesn't already include it, adding a fried egg with a slightly runny center takes it to the next level. The Joju original $14.95 and caramel pork $12.95 are perennial favorites, I like their grilled pork $12.95 banhmi too. Definitely try the fries! Joju loaded fries $8.95 which comes with a mix of sauces, spicy mayo, pickled daikon/ carrot mix mentioned above, cilantro and jalapeños, or the kimchi loaded fries $8.95 with spicy mayo, kimchi, scallions, cilantro and jalapeños--are both yummy sides or a tasty savory afternoon snack. The fries are double fried which gives them a nice crispy exterior. They also do the same ingredients in bowl form so they can be enjoyed with different bases (rice, brown rice, cabbage salad, cold noodle salad). I believe they have a few gluten-free options too. Drinks--I'd recommend the Vietnamese iced coffee, cold brew Vietnamese coffee, Thai ice tea, and hot Vietnamese espresso. The midtown location has a simple, modern set up, and is mostly a take out location. There are some seats inside but people seem to be lunch customers or drivers picking up delivery orders.
Solid banh mi, it was a quick pickup. I got the caramel pork and I found it a bit sweet, but that might be your thing. Only wish there were slightly more flavors since it was just pork and vegetables. Also that the bread was more toasted.
I came here based off of reviews and I was searching for a place near work that's walking distance. I know that there are other stores in Flushing and Elmhurst that I've been to before, so I decided to try the one and only location in the city. When you look from the outside, it is bigger on the inside. It's very modern inside with the tablets set up by the front to order from, and there's room for people to eat inside as well. I ordered the summer rolls, and it came with peanut sauce. It was good, better than other places that I've gone to. They're known for their Vietnamese sandwiches, but I decided to get something different. I got one of their bowls instead, and I could get it with sauces on the side. Overall, it was a filling meal, and I would go back eventually.
Some of the best kimchi fries in town! Crispy, well-salted fries with the right amount of sauce, kimchi, scallions, and a ton of cilantro (warning for people with the soap gene!) I can't speak to the banh mis but I have enjoyed the bowls and beverages here as well. This location gets absolutely slammed during lunch hours due to it's proximity to many office buildings, but the food is made very quickly and the staff are all rockstars at handling a huge crowd of people picking up orders in a tiny space. I've also accidentally ordered late on a Friday - this location is closed on weekends - and they have fun out of proteins but offered to swap in others. This location closes at 5pm, which is early for the city but not strange for a the neighborhood. The prices are also reasonable for the neighborhood. As far as the actual space, you order on kiosks and staff prep on a Chipotle-style line. There is some seating but it gets crowded during food pickup times and I've always taken mine down to Bryant Park.
# Overall: Joju is one of my go to lunch spots while in midtown and it certainly doesn't disappoint. Protein option definitely depends on the person, but I'd recommend the lemongrass chicken. The fries here are a decently sized portion, more suitable for a group than as a side for one person. # Ambiance Joju has a very efficient layout where you order by yourself with kiosks, where some of them have contactless payment options. There's a big open space to support the takeout orders, but still some seating available for those that want to dine in. # Food and Drink Lemongrass Chicken Banh mi I've been to Joju multiple times and tried a bunch of their protein options, but I think the best one might just be the chicken. I also like to get spicy mayo in the sandwich as well as on the side, just for extra sauce. Cold Brew Thai Tea Thai tea is naturally a very sweet drink, but I think this one might be one of the stronger tasting ones I've had.
Definitely one of my favorite places we ate in NY! We decided to stop here before going to MoMa and it was so good! We wanted something not too heavy and this was perfect! I loved the meat and the customize your own bowl. My bf got the banh mi which I tasted and was so good too! We got drinks that i didn't picture, but were refreshing and wanted more! The restaurant was completely empty and service was quick! You don't really interact with anyone since you order on an iPad, but it's great so you can take your time and customize things how you want! Ambience was great! They had good music playing and it was super chill.
Fast casual style eatery. Lots of seating witg two floors and a clean, spacious bathroom in the back of the first floor. Ordered a bulgogi bahn mi which was pretty good. Came last minute for an early lunch so only took 5 minutes for the sandwich to be ready. Nice place to hang out after class/work and study or chill. read more
food: really great spot for a quick meal or stop and go eating. i got the pork banh mi, the pork was sweet and cut smaller from what im used to. flavor was good but could use more fermented veggies and less sugar service: its a togo ipad ordering booth ambiance: mainly togo but area in the back to sit, which is nice read more

Pretty good banh mi, loaded, soft bread. Pricing was fair. In a busy spot of the city, lots of foot traffic. Ambiance is just okay, good for lunch. read more

Oh JoJu! How I love your Banh mis. Been to the Tangram mall food hall spot, so when I found this location by my husbands office I jumped at the opportunity to go. This location is average sized for Manhattan and at one time it looked to have an upstairs's seating area which looks to closed indefinitely. Walking, the counter/prep area takes up most of the interior while there are some chairs to dine in towards the back and a few up front. You can order from touch screen tablets and then wait for you order number to be called. Service was pretty timely and I was asked for my sauce preference before grabbing my order. It was definitely a beef bulgogi sort of day and I was so happy that's what I ordered because just as expected this sandwich lived up to its usually quality and tastiness. Bread perfect, toasted and beef so flavorful I probably devoured this sandwich in under 3 minutes. read more

First time visitor but this won't be the last time. While Joju is primarily known for their bahn mi, I decided to order a bowl entree with lemongrass chicken. I was really craving Vietnamese chicken and this hit the spot. Each bite was filled with a taste of ginger and lemongrass seasoning and the chicken was juicy. The portions were generous and they followed my order instructions. I will definitely order from here again. read more
One of the best banh mis I've had. They have plenty of meat options I usually go for the caramel pork. It's sweet and mixed with either their spicy mayo or spicy green sauce they pair perfectly together. Bread is soft but hold all the ingredients with no issues. The summer rolls are you standard roll. Doesn't blow me away but still very good Check this place out if you are in the area read more
First time going to this location in person since I used to get it delivered when living nearby. This place was busy and packed with people waiting to pick up their orders. We ordered via their site for pickup, which was ready by the time we got there. I got the Lemongrass Chicken Bahn Mi, Crunchy Monster Spring Rolls, and Vietnamese Iced Coffee. The ingredients in the bahn mi are flavorful, esp the lemongrass chicken, but the bread itself is not that great. The spring roll tastes good but would be better if there were more filling, esp when they call it the 'crunchy monster spring rolls'; it's only long and skinny. The Vietnamese iced coffee wasn't my favorite. Overall, it is a good place to grab a quick bite, but I probably can find better banh mi elsewhere, tbh read more

I was going for a walk and this caught my eye "Modern Vietnamese Sandwiches" . How can you modernized the bahn mi? There are 3 kiosks (screens) that you can order and customize your meal. Behind the plexiglass, you can see the food being prepared. The lobby area is very clean. I wanted to try the caramel pork bahn mi. Note the price is a little off putting at almost $13, besides tip and tax. I am so used to the sandwich being wrapped in white paper that when they handed me a green box, I was a little confused. The sandwich was covered in finally shredded pickled daikon and carrots (Đồ Chua)... I just love it, but when you first see how finally shredded it was, I thought "cheese"?. The bread is toasted well and has the crunch that you expect from the bahn mi. When I ordered it, I did not order any sauce (mayo, siracha or the like). The first bite, I could taste the cilantro and the Đồ Chua... but what was missing was the heat from the jalapeno... that was missing from it... I guess that makes it "modern". The caramel pork was small diced roasted/bbq pork that has a sweet non stick glaze. The difference between this and the normal bbq pork from other bahn mi is just a slight sweetness... much of a difference. I just felt that this was more of a gimmick than an actual modernization of the bahn mi. read more

I was studying at the New York Public Library when I started to get hungry, and I looked online for nearby places to eat. Joju was highly rated, and I was really interested in trying it, since I've never had a Vietnamese bowl like this before. They have touch screens where you can order your meal, and then have it for pick up on the side. I was very impressed with how quickly it came out: I think it took less than five minutes! I ordered the caramel pork bowl with brown rice, and also decided to get a side of the spring rolls since I saw that they were popular. I really enjoyed my meal! The spring rolls were perfectly crunchy and The fish sauce complemented it perfectly. The pork was very flavorful and delicious. I did find the brown rice was a little bit dry, but I added the spicy mayo that I got on the side, and that solved the problem. I only wish that there were more veggies and sides with the bowl! Overall I would definitely recommend and would love to try more of their menu. read more

I wanted to try JoJu because they had interesting vegetarian options on the menu! I had the seitan banh mi with the spicy sauce, sriracha and mayo, and it was so delicious! The pickled vegetables added a good sweet and vinegary flavor. Prices at ~$14-16 were a bit on the high end for a regular sized banh mi. read more
Got the Joju Bowl with egg (additional) for lunch (take-out) and shared fries. Was ready relatively quickly and very filling. There are multiple options available for base (rice, salad, half/half, etc). Meat options ranged from beef, pork, chicken, and seitan. Meats in the Joju bowl were flavorful and plentiful - I did not feel like I had to portion out the meat to salad/rice - there was meat in every bite. The pickled veggies paired well and helped with cutting through any grease you may get (inevitable from the meat that I chose). For sauces, I recommend the spicy green sauce. However, if you're not a fan of cilantro, pass. read more

0/5 Matcha Boba: would not get again. $8 for a very powdery and grainy matcha. Definitely get less sugar (still pretty sweet). 4/5 Caramel Pork Bowl: everything was great, especially with all the added sauces. However my "runny" egg was just a fried egg which seemed to be missing some yolk or something - definitely not runny Stick to the Bahn Mi and Bowls! Just sad my runny egg this time was solid. read more

TERRIBLE THAI ICED TEA. Be warned or be disappointed. Thai iced tea is literally close to flavorless which is disappointing considering how the original location knows how to make it right and how hard is it to make good Thai iced tea anyway. Caramel pork banh mi is good, though they barely toasted my bread. read more
