Fresh, delicious and a healthy lunch option in NYC! This was my first time trying out carrot express and I was not disappointed. I had a delivery lunch order for the oriental crunch salad, which came with the signature dressing. Flavorful and filling! read more

Whatever you do, order the skinny green! (spinach, avocado, dates, banana, oat milk, vanilla protein powder) It's absolutely delicious and I crave it regularly. Whenever I'm in the city, I try to find a valid excuse to grab a quick lunch or dinner here. Always get greeted with a smile. Prices are a little pricey but the quality is great and all the items are fairly healthy. read more

Overpriced, not filling, and doesn't taste great. Quality of ingredients is good but they don't put any care into making a good bowl

The lentil kale soup tastes like a bowl of salt.My wife was wondering why she smelt the ocean when it came, that is how salty it was. The brown rice and chicken tasted so bad,how do you get brown rice boiled wrong and grilled chicken breast tasting off. The lexington branch tastes soo nice. This is my second time at the 41st store and the quality has dropped. The service is nice but it's a huge difference in the food taste to the lexington branch. read more

PROs- healthy food , varieties , service CONs - pricey This place deserves a 5 star. Thought of giving a 4 star but the quality of food and the overall ambience/service makes it a 5 star review . We were near Times Square and wanted a good healthy place for lunch . When we searched google map , we saw Chopt salad place and initially went to that . Yeahhh. It was closed ! lol. As we were searching for any other salad place we looked at carrot express opposite to chopt . Wish they do more performance marketing or make it to google searches . They had some really healthy and good options .. interiors looked good. lots of space to sit and eat . Was a little pricey but fine for a one time meal . Got a salad and it was really tasty .. all vegetables were fresh and good . got their signature carrot juice and it was yummy . To finish we had a homemade banana loaf cake . It was so soft and amazingly tasty . Loved the experience overall .. read more

food here is weird / not delicious / expensive but healthy i guess? i would try their smoothies but honestly the food is a no go i got their green goddess salad and in particular did not like the dressing which was like tangy sour but green it was not appetizing. The salmon burger i got was on this mush multigrain bun -- the burger itself was good though. the restaurant was not busy at all when i went - at least it looked spacious and clean read more

Went in for an early dinner the other day and it was almost empty but delivery orders were steadily being pushed out. Ordering was a little odd and took me a second because of reading their fast-moving, word-heavy screens and I wasn't told whether to take a seat or not when I said it was "for here" so I stood there expecting a tray of food but he brought everything out individually to follow me to my table which was odd all around. That process could be smoother. Nice counter service otherwise, though! Ordered a Mahi Mahi Bowl w/ Rice, Avocado, Pineapple/Onion Salsa, Fried Plantains & Sweet Potato Fries w/ a side of spicy mayo. Price ($31) for both was a little high, in my opinion, since everything was a fairly flavorless (especially the salsa and Mahi Mahi) and didn't come with any type of included sauce on the side. Fries and the tiny cup of spicy mayo were on poiiint. The cup wasn't enough for the order of fries even with me going light on dipping so I had to ask for a 2nd one. Just saw the prices on the menu again and definitely think $20 - $30 a plate for most plates is not worth it based on the photos I saw here. Still love the unique combo of lunch offerings, especially the other power bowls that they offer. I'd eventually come back to try something else for lunch and the carrot options -- carrot juice + carrot cake. I think there are better, more flavorful places for the value/ingredient quality ratio nearby. read more

Amazing place with great customer service and amazing snacks . Names Ralph and I work around the corner . Definitely recommend

If only everything healthy for you tasted this terrific! Big and tasty bowls with multiple options. Good if you're a non-meat eater too. Large and clean spot with plenty of seating. Nice staff. Bathroom too. Oh, and that carrot cake for dessert is so good. read more

I tried Carrot Express via a Yelp Elite event and really enjoyed it, so I decided to come back on my own time! Came at around 8:30 pm on a Wednesday for pick up and only waited just about 7 min for my food to be ready. I ordered the Liv Wrap, which was nice and warm, and paired nicely with the Cilantro Lime sauce given. Only con was that there were about 2 pieces of really overcooked and inedible chicken in my wrap, but otherwise it was very good. There's a bathroom for customers, which was clean. Tons of seating for those wanting to eat in. Overall, a nice healthy spot with friendly staff. read more

Always wanted to check out this place for lunch since it's close to my office. I went and ordered the Liv Wrap which was $18.99 (before tax). I think it's pretty expensive for a wrap but it did taste like it had high quality ingredients, esp the chicken. I did enjoy the basil pesto sauce that came on the side. The wrap was on the smaller side which was disappointing for the price you're paying. Would I get it again? Probably not, but would be open to try the bowl. read more

NEW SMOOTHIE PLACE ALERT!!!!! Let me say this is now my new smoothie place! The BLUE MAGIC was delicious, I've had always issues having spirulina or maca added to smoothies without masking the bitter taste but this smoothie makes it so easy to have these added on. I want to try every single smoothie on the menu. Moving on to the food, I got the salmon+ quinoa bowl to go and let me tell you it did not disappoint. The lemon sauce it comes with really complemented the sweet/sour sauce they add to the quinoa bowl. The grilled brussel sprouts and cabbage made it extra crunchy and not boring to eat as protein meal after a workout. The place looked cleaned and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The person who took my order recommended they smoothie I ordered. Will def be coming back for the protein bowls and smoothies pretty soon. Ah one more thing, I like the fact they have a nutrition chart online that lists all the items on the menu (calories, total fats, protein in grams, etc.) not a lot of places around the area have this and also this many options to eat for breakfast/lunch/dinner that can be tailored to have add. protein or be on the low calorie index. read more

I'm always skeptical of the rise of health-centric restaurant chains, but Carrot Express seems to be an exception to this. Their salmon platter was delicious and reflective of high quality restaurant versions where you have to pay $20 more. It was also neatly places onto the plate so that all the side items are separated (in case you're one of those folks who don't like their food touching). The smoothie was also refreshing and much better than the ones you get from those juice shops. Service was very friendly and attentive and the ambiance was spacious and cool. read more

I tried their blue magic smoothie. It was my first time trying and it was sooo good I ordered another one!! The food options are great. The space is big to eat and enjoy your meal (esp. with the AC on a hot humid summer day!). Their menu is not the cheapest but you pay for what you get! The quality and the portion of the food are amazing. Their servers bring your meals to you if you sit down. So please tip them well! I will come back but to the 23rd street location since it's closer to me! So glad to get a chance to try this chain out! read more

Walked into the well lit vibrant atmosphere w/. plenty of seating. I asked my server: Gio what he recommended, he suggested to go with the ahi tuna Poke power bowl. Gio suggested I try the carrot cake while I wait. *What a dangerous decision... I almost spoiled my dinner unnoticeably feeding myself spoon after spoon. The bowl was plentiful and so rewarding. Atleast if I was going to be eating so much food, I minus well make it a healthy choice. The ahi tuna was cooked to perfection w/. a soft juicy center as was the rice & quinoa. I went with "Julie's smoothie" for my beverage. Pineapple, orange, mango strawberry, banana & honey. None of the ingredients outshined the next, just a perfect balance of sweet & tart. Thank you I will be returning & putting my friends onto this location. read more

Came in on a Friday evening. It was quiet at that hour, but that was fine with me, as I didn't have to deal with the rush hour crowd. The venue is spacious and has plenty of tables and booths for seating. The guy working behind the counter was quite friendly. I got a Choco Dream smoothie and the Poké bowl with salmon+tuna as my protein and brown rice as my base (the alternative was quinoa, but he recommended the rice). read more

For a near-$20 sandwich I expect near-excellence on a bun. This is not something to be found here. The ciabatta was at least a day old and came untoasted (toasting it would've hidden its age and enabled me to swallow the bread without struggling). The chicken salad on top was so bland, I couldn't even be sure it was chicken. The sandwich & salad deals consist of a 1/2 sandwich plus salad. But they cost about the same as a full-sized sandwich, which comes with the same kind of salad. So, you're paying the same price but for less stuff. Lastly, it took almost 20 minutes to get the food made. Not very "express" imho. Pret a Manger is right around the corner. That's where I should've gone instead... read more

Delicious overnight oats and avocado toast! I wish there were Carrot Express locations in Southern CA.

Food was delicious! Reasonably priced, especially on weekends! Fantastic vegan/vegetarian selections!

I love my pizza, my pasta, and my bar food nachos but I try to reserve that for the weekends so that I can still fit in my NY apartment...so places like Carrot Express are very appealing to me. Especially when I think of having yet ANOTHER Guacamole Greens or Harvest Bowl from Sweet Green. Should probably say I'm not hating on SG, but I've gotten that salad fatigue ya know? The cashier was super friendly and went over some of the most popular menu items. I have been twice so far and really enjoyed everything I have tried-pesto chicken bowl with kale, corn, and brown rice is very large portioned and tasty. Probably very caloric if you eat the whole bowl but I had half for dinner and took the rest for lunch the next day. LOVED the skinny greens smoothie, not chalky at all, very cool that they use Vital Proteins as their powdered protein. My hubs and I have also had the Turkey/egg white wrap and the LIV chicken/kale/quinoa wrap (very hearty but heavy on greens and grains if you're into that). The granola bowl is banging too because it had had so much variety! Pineapple, grapefruit, banana, strawberry, blueberry, and coconut. One star off because it's SO EXPENSIVE. As in sweet green might be cheaper. Some of their bowls are over $20...and for a casual food stop, even if the quality is great I don't think I can be a regular. Will be a nice little treat or just grab smoothies. They do seem to have a special I saw later that's pick two smaller portioned items for $14. The app might have deals as well. read more

This was my first visit to a Carrot Express. It was a Wednesday at 6pm. What's most confusing is that they have many items lit up on the signs over the counter but it's more of an ad than a menu which they have in physical paper form at the counter. It was empty when I arrived but with lots of deliveries going out. Some people came in, looked around then left. I didn't yet know about the menu but I looked online earlier and ordered the Legal wrap. I ate my $17 sandwich at one of the tables. It was expensive as it often is in the health food world but it was great. It was a wonderful one time experience. read more

I just want to start off by saying the staff here is super friendly and welcoming which is always nice. It's very clean. I didn't know what to order so I asked what she recommended - she said the Miso Salmon Bowl. Done. Mind you I read the reviews that it's pricey - and it is. This bowl in particular was $30, and I was taking it to go. Mind you I don't mind paying that much but my expectation / bar is a lot higher so I took a chance. Everything was cooked to standard but it was very bland IMO. I wish I asked for extra miso sauce on the side. I also didn't realize it was supposed to be cilantro brown rice until I reread the menu on Yelp - not a cilantro in sight. It was just "ok" but in my honest opinion, I'd rather go to the Whole Foods hot bar for half the price. read more

Pick up dinner for movie night in Bryant Park? Lunch with a coworker? Research break from the NYLP? This place is what you want. Food is SO fresh, and a very healthy portion for the price. You could share the poke bowl, but you may not want to share the carrot cake. The playlist is a compilation of upbeat hits, just the right rhythm and volume. Staff is as polite as the food is fresh. Friendly and enthusiastic about all the items on the menu; I took the recommendation for the smoothie. The smoothie is a meal and delight in itself. Lots of almond butter makes it creamy but not overpowering, with a lovely hint of vanilla. Again, another taste sensation that stands alone. For the bowl, I appreciated the sauce cups filled half way. Not a sauce person, I wanted the fresh taste of the ahi tuna and seaweed, yet I also wanted what the chef intended. I didn't want to be overwhelmed by the sauce. I added bit by bit and used about 1/2 what was offered- and the spicy mayo and eel sauce enhanced each forkful. With a movie night in the park, more pickup orders than people eating in, yet the seating options are plentiful and varied. The place has a lovely cheery vibe. I'll be back! read more

Was hesitant to eat here after the reviews, but went in on a Wednesday evening at rush hour and was pleasantly surprised. Most of the staff is Hispanic, which is great to see! They speak English perfectly well enough for you to understand what they're saying (since some people said otherwise in the comments). We ordered the Mario's Favorite Chicken Bowl but subbed for tofu and the Pitaya power smoothie. Both were made-to-order and delicious! The food is standard Times Square price, but actually healthy for you. The service was quick, the staff was friendly, the ingredients were fresh and delicious. The sauces added some extra flavor to the dishes, which already were great to me. Had a slice of carrot cake for dessert which was also very yummy. Left super full and very satisfied and would definitely return again! Thank you very much! read more

Honestly, I'm so impressed by Carrot Express. I stopped in recently to grab a bite to eat, and was not disappointed. The space is large and clean. There's plenty of tables for people who want to dine in, and a ton of different food options to choose from. I read online that Carrot Express wants to pioneer healthy, delicious meals, and I certainly agree with that. I ordered the poke bowl with salmon to go, which was *huge* and came out super quickly. I've had poke bowls before in the city - they usually tend to be on the smaller side, but this one was packed with carrots, onion crisps, edamame, and a generous portion of salmon. While the bowl came out to around $22, I think it was definitely worth the price. TLDR: if you're in the city and looking for something healthy and quick, I'd highly recommend Carrot Express. read more
