I want to start off by saying that Cava wasn't bad. I first saw the location in Short Pump on my way to Mezeh, a similar restaurant. If I hadn't eaten at a Mezeh, my review might be higher. But I have to say that in the areas Mezeh is better makes a huge impact on the overall score. Base: Cava did have some impressive arugula. Unfortunately the flavor over powered almost everything else in my bowl. I couldn't really taste the humus or eggplant spread. My sister said she did really enjoy the lentils. Meats: My lamb was kind of cold and the fats were starting to get solid again. Hopefully that was a one time issue as they were slammed opening day. I'm assuming that's the case so I'll give them a pass on that. But, I have to say Mezeh's meats are much more flavorful, and there are more choices. Toppings: There's really no comparison here. Mezeh has so many more topping choices and they are all so good. Much more flavorful. Bread: I don't think I can compare this one as Cava had run out of the bread they typically serve and gave me a piece of flat bread. But it was delicious. Dressings: Both restaurants fare well here. Beverages: I have to give this one to Cava, but I imagine it's a matter of preference. Their drinks are a bit more catered to American tastes. Strawberry Mint juice was gulped down quick! read more

We visit almost every week for the past 2 years. The food is excellent, always fresh and well prepared. We love the healthy choices! The employees are always very polite and accommodating and I have never seen a single employee slacking on the job. They are constantly in motion keeping this place clean and running smoothly . I always love the food from Cava and this one is the best one I've been to. Everything was delicious and quick. Upon ordering my meal I happened to tell the food preparer it was my birthday so I was treating myself. One of the managers, (Mo was his name I believe.) overheard this and comped my whole meal for free! I had an unfortunate mishap recently and realized I had left my wallet at home once fully ordering and getting to the cash register. The Manager who was assisting me very generously took care of my meal and could not have been nicer or more funny/generous. We have been coming regularly for about 2 years now. We always have a great experience. Employees are always very friendly and helpful. The manager Mo is always there and always has a smile and a greeting for us, we've become friends that have a family feel. If I lived around here I would be here every day. This area is busy with many restaurants so competition is on and these guys do a good job. Salad is perfect, spicy lamb meatballs outstanding. Normally I don't touch chips but baked pita bread chips is healthy and goes perfectly with the salad and meat. AC on so sitting inside is pleasant. read more

Came here for lunch a few days ago, the food is good. The staff were very warm and inviting. I had one of their bowls and the person working there was very patient with me trying to decide what I want. I ordered a salad and paid $24 for it. It was the most pitiful thing I had ever seen! I will never go here again! The bowl was not full, the avocado was brown, the arugula was so wilted and was mostly stems. Unbelievable! I was at work and pretty much starved until 4pm. read more
