Taco lunch combo chicken and Americano tacos, guac and red salsa
    Courtney W.

TLDR - Super affordable lunch combo. Tacos were good but dip them in the salsas to make them better! Service/Vibe- My husband and I came here for lunch at noon. The restaurant wasn't packed and service was quick. While the outside of the building is very unassuming, the inside was really cute! Food - We both ordered the taco lunch combo for $13 which included a medium soda, 2 tacos, chips and our choice of guac or queso as well as a salsa which we were able to pick from 4 options. The sides are SMALL but I still felt like it was a really great deal - especially when compared to other restaurants in the city. My only warning is that if you're hungry (like we were) then this won't be enough food. After we finished our combos we ordered another 3 tacos to split HAHA! The guac, queso, red salsa and green salsa were all excellent. Honestly, you need the salsas to level up the tacos. Without them, they would have been a bit bland. The tacos themselves were okay. Good but not super flavorful on their own. We ordered the shrimp, brisket, Americana, Chicken and Carnitas and this was our general sentiment. The Americana tasted like an elevated Taco Bell taco (which I really enjoyed) and the chicken taco was our favorite by far. Most flavorful option and even better with the green salsa on top. All in all, we would come back but next time I would get an order of 3 tacos and then order the guac/queso/salsa on the side.

One pork belly, 2 pork (carnitas) tacos, on flour tortillas with the mild, hot, and x hot salsa

This is my second time trying Chicano boy. The first time I went I had a pork belly burrito and their Mexican street corn, it was amazing, but I didn't think it could be out done. I decided to try the pork belly taco and I got two Carnitas tacos because I was craving them. The Carnitas tacos were very moist and flavorful. I've tried their pork belly before, so I didn't expect to be amazed when I tried it in taco form, but boy was I wrong. The pork belly with the chili crunch on top a flour tortilla might be one of the best tacos I've ever had in my life, especially when it's paired with that extra hot salsa. The service was wonderful and everyone was friendly. I originally came in thinking I had already placed my order online, but it turns out I forgot to press send. It really only took them about 5 to 7 minutes to get my food prepared after I ended up having to place the order inside of the restaurant. It was such a welcoming and friendly environment, and also extremely cleanly. I had just worked a very hard shift and was craving some good food, this place definitely hit the spot. Will be coming back!

First visit January, second in June...left completely satisfied both visits. Not sure how long they've been open but definitely disappointed I didn't know about it sooner as it's not far from me at all! I love queso con chorizo and the consistency of theirs is perfect and it is enough to share. The burritos here are probably my favorite because they are so filling but the pork carnitas was by far the best. It was moist and flavorful but because my bf ordered that our visit I opted for the tacos. Those were also delicious but I think the chicken taco was my favorite of the 3; no qualms about the others though. Our second visit was for lunch and we had the lunch deals and shared chips and queso again. I opted for the chicken burrito and wasn't disappointed as it was the same size as the non lunch portion. Sweet potato & black bean is available as a topping and there are bowl, salad, and nacho options. Each time we left stuffed and had some food left so it's definitely worth it. Service was pleasant and quick on both visits and they do to go ordering also!

Today I had another STELLAR meal at Chicano Boy Taco in North Chesterfield. (In the Huguenot Village Shopping Center at the corner of Huguenot and Robious.) I've been going there for just over 5 years now and the tacos are always incredible. It's clear folks in the kitchen are well-trained...the precise cut of the radishes indicates to me some pretty serious ability. And when I order the pork carnitas with pico and cilantro, those tomatoes are in PERFECT little cubes all the same size. But enough of me geeking out on knife skills LOL...as I told the chef in the kitchen when I was leaving this afternoon, "I would take a punch in the face for one of your pork belly tacos." The pork is crunchy and soft, deliciously glazed, plus the chiles add a perfect pickled acid to blend with the fat of the meat. The chicken--marinated in citrus, garlic, and a hint of oregano--pairs so well with the fresh radish. Every time, they're just sublime. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Quick service restaurant. Order at the front counter, take a number and find a seat. When your food is ready, they'll bring it to you. I ordered the tacos. You can get flour or corn tortillas and your choice of fillings. I opted for American, Sweet Potato and Black Bean and Squash. They were good, street size tacos.

First, the name. We live in a melting pot where many of us are American of foreign descent and the name "Chicano Boy" celebrates that. The menu describes it as a "Mexican-American Taqueria," which I love because too often, we want ethnic food to be totally authentic. But that isn't always possible or even necessary. It just needs to be good food, as is the case with Chicano Boy. The concept is pretty simple. They have a limited menu of tacos, burritos, bowls, salads, and nachos with a filling and salsa of your choice. The ingredients are fresh and the salsa selections are great. Because they come on the side, you can try them all to see which one you like. The orange one is my personal favorite--it's habanero hot. I've not had the Americana or squash fillings but have enjoyed all the others, especially the beef, pork, and shrimp. The nachos are HUGE and they are generous with all the toppings, including the meat. This allows you to get one or more toppings on each chip, making the nachos pretty filling. An order of tacos come with three tacos you can mix and match. They are made on small tortillas but are packed with the fillings, making them satisfying but not as filling as the nachos, bowl, or burrito. The only thing I haven't liked here is the tres leche cake because it's really dry and floral tasting. But who cares because if you want something sweet after your meal, Crumbl is next door. In sum, Chicano Boy is authentically good Mexican-American food. Other bonuses are the friendly service and a bright, casual, and artistic ambiance. We've never had a bad experience here and thus, have added it to our regular rotation.

I fell in love with this place the first time I walked in. From the professional and courteous staff to the beautiful food, everything about this establishment felt right. I believe that the better the atmosphere, the better quality of the food will be. I ordered the Burrito Bowl w/ Chicken, 3 Sweet Potato and Black Bean tacos, and Chips and Salsa. Life Lesson: For those married to greedy spouses, please double up on your order when purchasing from this restaurant. The Reason: When you purchase great food from an establishment that you have never tried before and your wife loves everything, what will you eat? I know someone out there feels my pain! Anyway, every item that I ordered that day was perfect. I ordered the Burrito Bowl for myself, and my wife ate 1/3 of that, along with the Sweet Potato and Black Beans tacos. Who knew this was a combination? And my wife loved the Chips and Salsa. Honestly, this rating deserves more than 5 stars. I have been visiting this place as if I was going to the grocery store. Each time that I visit, the food is better than before. Overall, this is such good food with great staff and greater service!

Grilled Corn with 3 tacos: Pork Carnitas, chorizo and potato, shrimp and carrot habanero salsa

I was so excited to try this place! I have a friend from Staunton, VA that raved about it, as that is where the owners originally opened one. Glad they opened one in Midlothian! Definitely cute spot with a good amount of seating. I went in and made an order to go, but as I sat to wait for my order I noticed that they had online ordering pick ups with seemed super efficient. Similar to Panera they had bags prepared and labeled so you can walk in and pick up. I love that, I will need to remember that next time. I ordered the mix and match three tacos. I went with a chorizo and potato, pork carnitas, and the shrimp with Cotija cheese. Honestly all were unique in their own way... I would get all of them again, all were super flavorful... but the chorizo has that extra punch of spice which made it super tasty. I got the carrot habanero, I was expecting it to be super spicy but it was actually mild. I think next time I would go with the tomatillo-cilantro-lime salsa! I also skipped the queso/guacamole with chips and ordered the grilled corn which was absolutely delicious. Makes it feel like summer again even though today was probably the coldest day we've had so far in fall this year haha! I loved how it was covered in a good amount of cotija cheese. All in all it was delicious and I can't wait to go back and maybe eat there with the fam :)

My daughter and I chose burritos, which were delivered to the table again in a timely manner. The portion sizes were huge! I had a fajita burrito that came with steak, rice, beans, and some additional items inside the wrap with cheese and avocado on top. It was delicious. My daughter chose another of the burritos which came out the same size, and she cleaned the plate. Once we were done, we did have a bit of a wait for the check, but nothing ridiculous. Overall, the restaurant was clean, well decorated, and played a radio station that provided background ambiance without reducing the ability to have quiet conversations at the table.

Quality remains high no matter what you order. The chicken is absolutely amazing. It's juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly every time. Their tacos are just as impressive. You can tell everything is made fresh, and the flavors really shine. The sauces they offer are seriously mind-blowing and take every dish up a notch. Their desserts are a hit in our family too. My son especially loves the fried ice cream. It's huge and always gets him excited. I recently tried the chicken soup on a Friday and was blown away. It came packed with chicken in a large, steaming hot bowl. I got it on special for $3.99, and honestly, even at the regular price of $6.99, it's still an incredible deal. I think it might be my new favorite item on the menu. Their margaritas are made in-house and are a solid choice if you're in the mood for a drink. The drink selection overall is really good, with plenty of options whether you're eating in or taking food to go. The restaurant is always clean, which we really appreciate. The bathrooms could use a little more frequent attention, mostly in terms of updates, but they're still totally fine and functional. Just a personal preference for more modern finishes. Service is fast, the staff is friendly, and the drive-through is a huge plus when we're short on time. We go here often and always leave happy. Highly recommend checking it out if you haven't already.

I really wanted to try the tipsy chick taco so I got that and chips and queso. Chips and queso is a 10 out of 10. My friend had the Baja shrimp taco and thought it was really good. We agreed that the tacos are pricey because they are small. We said we should have gotten two tacos because we were still hungry after eating the one but they are good so is worth the money but I wish they were a little bit bigger. I like that they put stickers on the tacos so that you know which on is which. They also say which sauce goes on which taco as those are package separately which is nice as well. My only feedback is that they should label the sauces too as those can be hard to distinguish without tasting them. Food - I got 3 tacos and my husband got 2 along with an order of 1/2 queso, 1/2 guac to share. The queso and guac were both really good and came with a generous portion of chips. I feel like the tacos are expensive for the size. 2 is good if you're not very hungry or order a side. 3 is good to serve as a meal. Here's what we ordered: Naughty Santa - our favorite! If you get a shrimp taco it should be this one! The poblano sauce is SO GOOD! I might put that on every taco next time I come. Baja Shrimp - also really good! The pickled onions were pretty spicy which came as a surprise. Trailer Park Trashy - good, really flavorful, definitely heavy. I felt unhealthy by the time I finished this one. Mr. Orange - okay this one was nasty. I hate to say it but it was really not good. We regretted trying this one and couldn't even finish it. The flavor profile is off, and the salmon is weird. The texture was too soft and the taco lacked a crunch.
